Re: Anti Procrastination Wednesday PWYC
We're a quiet bunch today, still on page one. I'm just kind of piddling around at genealogy. Can't seem to get motivated.

Re: Anti Procrastination Wednesday PWYC
I watered all of the inside plants earlier. I think 2 of my 4 orchids have died. One has new buds forming, so I'm very happy about that.
I also did all 3 litter boxes. Dh took the 3 bags out to the large compost bin.
I called pharmacy to have one of dh's insulins renewed. He only has 3 pens left.

Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Re: Anti Procrastination Wednesday PWYC
a wonderful hello from here, too.
I think David Cain's question then becomes, "Although it's not laziness, don't you recognize that you are neurotic?"
Um... .. let me check. Not so much, actually. But I'll ask around.
I think there's a false assumption that everything that any one person procrastinates is because of one reason, when actually, that doesn't make sense. Is a thing really unhappy to do? Gee, that might factor in, whether we think we'd be good at it or not. I've got a pretty good Secretarial Voice, cultured over years of payroll, but I still postpone Dreaded Phone Calls. Even if we have no complaints about another household member's talent at garbage toting, we may still have to nag regularly. And many procrastinated things have nothing to do with a person's talents, such as a classic example of paying taxes. You're probably going to pay the same tax no matter what, and maybe you even said you'd go ahead and do it, but there are nagging reasons you wait on sending dollars out from the checkbook. Not neurotic on that count, just experienced.
Now, maybe with Creativity, you could be worried that you won't be up to the task of making something that's as lovely as you envision. I get that. But the most talented makers in every area have unfinished works all over their spaces - regular DaVinci types. They're not suffering from a lack of confidence, they just have too much optimistic belief that they can start new projects at the same time.
Just because there could be a lot of reasons, though, doesn't mean we shouldn't tackle procrastination. The answer is still to do the thing.
I asked HRH and he says that he is going to give me his opinion on procrastination, but he'll get back to me tomorrow.
This sat for a while, sigh.
We've made a grocery list. Neither of us feeling great today and not sure why. I had a good breakfast but not much excitement over lunch.
Dailes done.

Re: Anti Procrastination Wednesday PWYC
I have gotten a.m. steps done.
Took a net flicks break.
Did a bit more on goals work book.
Did a back yard walk about did not find any poo to pick up.
Saw some tiny blue flowers!
Swept the hall dining room & most of the kitchen.
Did a bit of knitting now just have the last 4 points to do on this star dish cloth.
Got the bed rooms vacuumed dusted under the china hutch stove and fridge & stove.
Figured out my plan for dinner.
One of the items I was looking forward to after shopping a cheddar hot dog I'd been out!

Re: Anti Procrastination Wednesday PWYC
Yeah, I see several problems with the generalization in the quote. Sometimes it's fear of not doing something well, sometimes it's something that's not pleasant to do (i.e. DPCs.) And sometimes it's not thinking through the first step - then I figure out what the first step is. And sometimes, in my mind, I'm still ruminating on what to do or how to do it.
But it's not laziness!
Need to get started with supper. Dh is grilling the pork chops - it's cold but he said he would do it - and I'm making apples and onions and a green salad.

Re: Anti Procrastination Wednesday PWYC
Anti-Procrastination has been something of a focus today, since just finishing projects has been what I'm doing in sewing area. I kind of have a new rule of "No New Projects" except for the very smallest. Also mending, I guess. I'd made a plan and posted that in Arts, C and N thread and I'm on the verge of finishing the first two parts.
We did get groceries in. I began to feel a little better as the day went on.
Dd27's phone was caught up in some big outage/problem? Had you guys heard of that today? Dsonil says it seems to have hit IPhone products harder than Android. My cell phone was fine, as was his. She called and chatted with her Dad from her work phone to let us know what was going on in case we tried to get in touch with her.
She says she expects to see us Sunday. Ds will come by tomorrow to pick up those golf balls.
Enjoying hearing about LadyM's households' changes and about her creative things getting a new space.
Nancy, what's blooming here, sadly, are some little flowering trees. I fear they will get clobbered with the cold that is bound to be on the way. The ones that line a schoolyard not too far from us look super vulnerable.
Cathy, I hope maybe you'll see some signs of life in those other two orchids!
CC, I'd imagine, is Cleveland Clinic Hospital. Highly respected. But I would hope no matter what, this is just a cyst for Mystery's DC and no big deal at all.
Looking around for Ramblin'.
blessed, how did the spanakopitas turn out? Hoping you had a good day at your house.
lucylee, lying in the floor trying to get appliance to work, LOL! I was just in that position myself. The only thing I could think of to help would be taking a photo of control buttons, etc., while there, to send to company and say, "Well, what do I do?"
