Re: Saturday PWYC
Good morning
So thankful to be able to visit SHE village and post without any errors.
We have zero teens in the house for the next several hours. DD14 is visiting DD49 and DS17 is at work. It is just me and DH in our quiet and calm home. Although DS17 has called twice since he left this morning, so it isn't entirely a teen free time.
Hourly cards are in progress. I'm a little behind because of the cold weather and my reluctance to spend time outside. We have a chance of snow this morning, but I haven't seen any flakes yet. I’ve got a few things planned for today that sound fun to me, and I’m looking forward to them.

Re: Saturday PWYC
LucyLee - a couple thoughts about your DMom home happenings.
** Find lost laptop might be worth a try. I am doubtful since they didn't take the charger but there is a small chance it might tell you something.
** Since you are already using ring doorbell camera, maybe add ring cameras in several rooms. Over the years I have added several in our home for various reasons. It started because DS17 use to sleepwalk and I wanted to be notified when that happened. Then i added one in the attic to see what kind of critters were making sounds. Although i don't need the cameras for those reasons now, I continue to use them and find them invaluable for other reasons. We have 3 cameras inside the house and 3 cameras outside. It is $99 a year to have up to 10 cameras so I could add more cameras without any reoccurring cost. I usually purchase the cameras on Black Friday sale but considering they are used daily for years the full price is worth it (to me).
I'm alternating between hourly cards and learning about fermenting ways. I had no clue that vacuum sealer could be used in the fermenting process. I'm a newbie to vacuum sealers so am watching video to learn difference between chamber vacuum vs edge vacuum.
These type of days are what I dream about. Uninterrupted time to think and create. I've set up (roughly) my quilting area, music area and garden seed area. These areas aren't fine-tuned to perfection but are fully functional and ready to be used. I still want to set up a painting area, but I’m debating where it should be, so I won’t move forward until I make up my mind.

Re: Saturday PWYC
LadyM, it's a joy to me to hear about your spaces being nurtured for creativity.
There's a little bit of disappointment for me to remember that when I first began to adore the process of starting seeds of annual flowers I did so much. I had a flat hot water heater appliance in the kitchen that offered gentle warmth, but I would just rotate trays for light. What a modest space! But it worked well. Right now, I must be patient and remember that I can't do everything. I remember my parents saying things similar to, "don't try to live your whole life in one night", lol.
blessed, are you starting any seeds, yet, or making lovely plans?
I'm sure none of ya'll who read that I might (just might) perfectionisti-cally re-make part of a very nice, completed quilt block, is now surprised to hear that's something I have done. Much better. It doesn't jar my senses now and I have photographed for the final time and gathered them all into their project box. Supercaliperfectionisticexpialidocious.

Re: Saturday PWYC
Peeking in -- looks like folks have been and gone. Oh! Hi, Harriet!
DH and I did errands early this afternoon. We have a belated holiday party (it's for the Scout troop adults and spouses; this is the first weekend post-Klondike), and we're supposed to bring some sort of finger food. After much debate, we settled upon pinwheel sandwiches, but then we had to go out and get ingredients. While we were out, we stopped to return the one pullover that DH got me for Christmas that was identical to the other pullover he got me for Christmas -- very nice, but I didn't need two of the same color. We stopped to get gas, ink for the printer (and some notepads for me), then to the little grocery store, then to the drugstore to get the card and a couple of other things. So we got a lot done in a relatively short time, and I've had a late lunch. DH hemmed and hawed a little about the errands -- the ones that were far afield were basically mine, although he does print stuff from time to time -- but I said I couldn't wait for warmer weather since the temperatures are supposed to drop this afternoon, keep dropping overnight then stay cold for another day before they drop to bitter cold.
When I'm done here, I'm going to go to my brain dump list and cross things off!
After that, I'm not sure. There's plenty of things to do around the house; those sandwiches should probably be made sooner rather than later, and I just spotted on my calendar that I'm supposed to read at church tomorrow, so I need to prepare for that. I hope you're all having a great day!

Re: Saturday PWYC
before I try to get mom up again - I wanted to say hello individually!
hello d mystery enjoy the belated holiday party! it''s a new years party!
enjoy reading at church!
I d harriet! fit's a good saying! Thank you for reminding me of that sentiment - quote!
how nice that you got your quilt the way you want it - Balancing is not perfection!
I have to admit I was overwhelmed by how many you tube videos about starting seed etc. are being shown. Gardens are always growing or decreasing - it doesn't have to all be done - I would like to go to the botanic gardens this summer as a way to enjoy horticulture without trying to do it all. I am hoping to enjoy other gardens without all the pressure to get my garden "finished". There is no finishing.
hi d lady my dd younger bought me books on fermenting last year - I haven't been able to get into it yet! enjoy the learning!
uninterrupted time to think and create: priceless - so happy for you!
hi d Nancy 3 am - I was up too but didn't work. (I just tried to go back to sleep
) waving at you!
hi d cathy hope you had a nice day!
hi d twins - how was your day?
d Lucy - I miss you bc you are here mostly in the evening - saying hello to you!
hello and have a good day and evening everyone
