I think I missed talking to y'all yesterday --

I wanted to congratulate LadyM's dd14 on the academic team win! That is great! DGS is supposed to have something like that -- Scholars' Bowl match -- next weekend (not this weekend during the ice storm, thank goodness!) I don't know if I will get to go with him and ddil, or if ddil will want me to stay home and keep DGD, but I'd like to be able to go.

Still watching the weather here too. Pastor texted me and told me the heater we ordered is NOT battery operated as it appeared to be. Mine will not arrive until next week anyway, and I am just going to take it right back to Wmart and forget about it. She said she would keep hers, might have a heat pump failure and need it. I have two heat pumps and I figure I can sleep in the opposite end of the house if one fails. What are the chances they'd both fail at the same time? Sigh.
It is beginning to sound like we may not get as much as first feared, but still expecting ice. I wonder if DGD will want to stay with me tomorrow or not. I'm telling her there will be NO drive-thru for breakfast if there is ice on the roads! Tomorrow night's low here will be 25, and lows will remain below freezing for the next several days -- but the highs for Friday-Sunday are in the 40s. Monday's high is supposed to be 27 :!: brrrr... but all other highs for the next seven days are above freezing. We're right on the line of ice and no ice -- we are in a winter weather "advisory" area, but the counties bordering our west and north are in the ice storm "warning" area. I don't think the storm will hold fast to county line boundaries, LOL. They are saying maybe .25 inches of ice accumulation.
None of this is supposed to begin until after 6:00 pm for us -- which is good, because DS is going to Nashville tomorrow! He expects to be home before the precipitation begins.
I know DGS is hoping for a day out of school on Monday. I am doubtful about church Sunday.

Look at blessed saying helper should wait till it is "3 above." Oh my goodness... I would not do well if I lived in a colder area!

Today I really had a hard time getting going, but when I finally did s2s, I sorta had a spa day for myself. Washed my hair, shaved legs, used facial mask, trimmed nails.
Went to post office and grocery store -- bananas and diet drinks. I also ate a late lunch/early supper while I was out.
I did really well for a few days, getting up and getting out and busy when I woke up... but the last few days have been not so good.
My weight is climbing back up and I've got to get back into my exercise routine.

 OH MY GOODNESS -- Control Z worked!!!! Thank you, Nancy -- I think it was you who told me to try that when my whole post disappears! Whew!
* Good for you on your exercise and your activities for the day!

Throw it out... I'm still struggling with memories -- not necessarily bad memories that need to be thrown out, but just memories that need to be in their proper place, and not letting them take up too much of my present day life. Sometimes I read things that are supposed to be helpful re: dealing with grief, and that's when I start crying again. The things that are supposed to be encouraging just end up depressing me. I'm trying to spend less time on Facebook for this reason.

I'm so glad you got all those appointments out of the way, LadyM, and I hope all goes well for tomorrow before y'all have to hunker down with this winter weather!

Going to bed to read with the dog sounds like a perfect way to spend a cold evening, Twins! WTG on getting your workout done and cleaning out the drawer hot spot!

Cathy, you have been busy! WTG!

Thursday night is my favorite TV night -- Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, Law and Order, Law & Order SVU... I know I watch too much TV. I need to read more. I have a free trial of Kindle Unlimited, and I'm downloading a bunch of books, but I am currently reading the hardcover Beloved, by Jan Karron. It is just one of the hardcover/paperback books on my nightstand that are waiting to be read. So many books, so little time. (Actually, I have time; I just don't use it wisely.)

Y'all stay warm!
Tomorrow is another day.

Guess what I would be throwing out if not for Am*zon's good return policy?
The rechargeable light bulbs I bought for use in power outages... are not rechargeable. I was confused about something with them, sent a message to the friend who recommended them... she realized these were not the same as hers.
ALSO -- the battery operated heater... shaking my head...
Is this "widow's fog"? I told dfriend, I am keeping UPS in business with all my returns! (Remember, I bought a 2025 calendar back before Christmas!)
Plus... had to return a moonstone ring (VERY cheap) that I had bought, because the stone fell out of it! I won't bore you with why I "had to have" a green moonstone ring.

I may be the first person A-river refuses service.

Seriously though, I know I am over-reacting about this winter storm. Now they are saying we may only get .10" of ice. I'm hoping that isn't enough to bring down power lines.

I'm trying to have a better night. Just did my walk away the pounds routine... got those lightbulbs ready to return when the roads are clear again and the temperature returns to something bearable. Actually, I might take them tomorrow, unless I am needed to pick up dgrands after school. Tomorrow temps will be in the mid 40s.
Tomorrow is another day.

Hi, everyone. It's been a long day. We got gasoline and a few groceries on the way home from faraway appt, including the cake HRH insisted we bring home to ddolder. Store did seem "picked over" a bit, but then it is not a store that we know well, so maybe it is not all that well stocked in general.

Then hadn't been home long when a phone call started a chain of events, again having to call that lawyer who just isn't doing the work, it doesn't seem. One person upset because of complaint, another taking up for the lawyer and critical of the (completely different) one who has complained, instead. I suppose dust will eventually settle and we'll know who is dropping this ball. Both of them wanted to spend a lot of time on the phone with me to give point of view and also to tell what's going on with them personally. All the while I was thinking, hey it's my dd's bday and I want to go... ..

Then over to ddolder's with her gift bag of random little presents and the cake to share with the boys. Enjoyed that visit a lot. Grandpuppy happy.

LadyM, sending best wishes to you and your family and community for tomorrow afternoon and beyond.

Thinking of all of us who are preparing. Forecast here is getting worse, but not as bad as so many other areas for the incoming storm.

And of course, many of us already have serious temperature and precip troubles.
blessed, I hope the point to which construction has gotten at your house is meaning less heat loss. I remember you were really dealing with some of that a week ago.
