Right Thing Monday PWYC

“Much more important than working hard is knowing how to find the right thing to work on.”

Last week of January is somehow here already! What have you been working on, and is it the "right thing?" Is fine tuning needing? Did you get a great start to the year and taper off? It's okay to reassess and restart anytime you need a re-set!

Mornin'! 23* / 38* today's temps. range.
I'm up sipping coffee & doing the a.m. routines.
Thinking of you all.

Today's Tip:
Sort coats & sweaters ones that do not fit can be draped over knees for warmth and de-cluttered later.
My big coats are one size too big for layering hoodies etc. under them.

I have knitting almost big enough to cover my lap while knitting on it.
Got the clean sheets on my bed yea!
Had some bfast.

Next up get the duds & laundry downstairs. x
Sheets are in the dryer and load #2 is in the washer now.
6 Eggs are out to get to room temp. decided since I gave away the ones I deviled yesterday...
I'd like some for me so this is the beginning of that process.

Watching yt of Fox news weather of the info over nite.
I have mixed up bread dough it's rising now.
Did a kit. spiff afterwards.
I have hb thawed for meal for my dinner.
Listened to a "class".
1st load of laundry is folded and put away.
@nd load is folded now.
Bread is done and smells yummy, lunch is in a few minutes.
Fetched the mail. .90 m so far, today.

Hi!

We got a lot of snow overnight.

Road isn't plowed yet. Driveway isn't plowed yet. Patio isn't cleared yet. I can only open our back door a bit. Maybe 6 inches. There is a drift blocking it, but the snow is powder-y. Dh is working on that right now. We have cancelled the PSW for today, but not tomorrow. Almost everything is closed today. Our Doctor's office is closed. All schools are closed. The Toronto airport had 18 inches of snow, which broke the record. Highways are mostly cleared, Primary roads are getting cleared, with most secondary roads not cleared yet. It's minus 10 C here.

Stay safe everyone! I'm upstairs at my desk, ready for the webinar which is starting soon. The course coordinator has power today - she lives in Virginia - I was pleased to find her, and others, online...

Got most of the a.m. routine done, dh walked the dog, and I'm finishing brunch now.

Waving to everyone!

Although it was an uncomfortable night (Tobias was appalled), we awakened on the grid. I had really thought when the power went out late, that that would be it, but it had come back on relatively promptly. Sunshine is now making itself known, and that must be a good thing.

Cold, but okay, we are assuming the HVAC folks will indeed be able to deal with the roads and make our appt. Yesterday I was thinking what good was an appt if trees were across roads and lines were down all over. Not counting chickens before hatching, of course.

Making out the planner and cards this a.m. a little late.
"Closets" week in Focus Cleaning, and "Laundry" will be next week, so I'm decluttering this week in our mud room to get ready for that, too.

Good morning!

I did next to nothing yesterday -- didn't even s2s; put my robe on over my nightgown and hung out all day that way. Today, I'm up and about, but I did sleep in.

So glad to hear your heating problems are not too serious, Harriet, and are being dealt with. Glad you (mostly) didn't lose power. Glad nobody else seemed to have any major problems -- is there anyone we have not heard from who is in the middle of this? If so, I hope they're just being a slug like me and not stuck without power and internet access.

Happy to have a little peace and quiet for the moment -- somebody put a nickel in DD earlier, and I got to hear all about a lot of things I scarcely care about.

Everybody's home today -- drat! I should have woken DC when I was most recently upstairs! -- though DH has work to do. He brought a folder of work home, anticipating that there would be a snow day. When I'm done here, I'll wake them, then go start a load of wash. Lunch, at some point, will be grilled cheese and tomato soup, though I'm peckish now. Not sure what to do about that, as I don't think others are ready for lunch. Maybe a clementine or a yogurt.

BBL, I hope!
