* Harriet -- it was announced that I am teaching, so that may be the reason no one shows up.Of course, if it had been announced in my former church's newsletter or on the bulletin board that Harriet was teaching on that subject, all the officers would have needed smelling salts.
There's really not much teaching involved; I just lead the discussion. There is no teacher's guide, so we're all reading the same thing. Y'all, I am child-free tonight. I have had a very pleasant evening, ate my Stouffer's lasagna, watched Dateline, and filled out my planner for the week, including pretty stickers for the coming month. I get themed stickers from the Prayerful Planner site. For March it is all about physical activity along with the idea to "Crush Envy," and "Cultivate Contentment." There are daily Bible verses and journal prompts available also. I think I get these because I buy this planner every year. * I had to edit this because I thought it was a different site. Sorry if you read it earlier!
I did take dgd to ball practice. She is back in the outfield, and she said afterwards that she was SOOO BORED. I asked if she was upset that the coach wasn't working her at catcher. She said, "No, I'd rather be bored." ROFLOL. I was afraid DS and/or ddil would be upset that the coach has decided she is not ready to play catcher, since she did last year. DS said NOOO. He said last year catcher was one of the least important positions, but this year it is the second MOST important, and dgd does not need that sort of pressure and is not ready for that anyway. This is the first year the girls pitch, and they are a lot of wild pitches anyway; catchers really work hard if they are any good.
The reason I am alone on a Friday night is because the other granddad is off work tomorrow and he wanted them both to stay over tonight. DGD wanted to come home with me anyway, and I told her they could both stay with me tomorrow. She said, "Only me." I said, "No, dgs will want his night too." She said -- I quote -- "He can stay if I can kick him in the head."
This is a beautiful little girl whose teachers ALL brag about how sweet she is... but she wants to kick her brother in the head. Sigh. I told them I'd pick them up after lunch tomorrow, but I suspect I will not get to sleep in after all; carpenter may be back. I hope he calls first. He usually does. OTOH, DS will be leaving at 10:00 a.m. so he may decide to just wait till DS is back next week.
I also need to take a truck battery to Auto Zone and let them test it, and replace it if necessary. DS took it out of the truck that legally belongs to dmom, but which stays at his house, ironically because dmom doesn't drive it enough to keep the battery charged.
It went dead on DS during that extreme cold period we had a few weeks ago. Dmom is still paying the insurance on it, so I felt the least we/I could do is pay for the battery.Good night, all. I'm not going to bed, but I bet y'all are!
