Looked up our air quality, 51, moderate, here. All I know is it is hot! And carpenter bees are everywhere. I’m going to make some “wasp nests” out of paper bags and see if that will keep them off our porch and mom’s porch.

We took about a :45 walk, I fed Lola and George and stayed while George ate so I know he got some, Lola is hiding out in the open behind the shed thinking I can’t see her.
Fed turkey too. Filled George’s water bowl and now mom’s faucet drips, not sure if it did before, making a note for dh. Also got culligan note off door saying they visited.

Going to edit update list.

Dogged, both dds say that it is taken care of and not to worry about it. Neither one lives here right now, one is looking at an internship in Montgomery and the other hasn’t been home other than a quickie visit in years, so I’m not sure… They’re both in their 20s and at the point in life where they put their needs in front of others…

That puts it in perspective. What you need to reassure yourself is to have a way to reassure yourself that they came and looked after the beasties. Do you know any of your neighbours well enough to ask them to text you or call you when they see the car drive up to your house? Once the girls get to the house, you know them well enough to know that they will feed and water all of the animals. I think that niggling feeling is whether both girls might assume that the other one is taking care of it.
If none of your neighbours are likely to do that for you, could you put up something like a ring camera to alert you when the door is opened? You could put it on the door and say that it's to check if Lola is eating her food or if it's the opposum, or put it on the coop to monitor for fox.

You’re right dogged, and thanks for the tips. It will all work out. If I have to, I can always pull the mom and dad card and get tough with them, would rather not but gotta take care of my fur babies.

Hello everyone!

Safe travels, Helia! You're right, I had to pick up Jude straight away when I came home,.so DH very kindly made me a sandwich for when I finally got back home for good.

Gma, I'm glad you enjoyed reading Maud and other poems by Tennyson.

Have fun at the library, L.Ann!

LOL at DPup, KitKat. Freddie worked out how to open the door to the food cupboard some years ago, so my then handyman added some magnets to the door to ensure they would hold it shut. And it worked. Freddie was not amused!

Bama, I totally understand not wanting to leave your animal "family". Dogged has some very helpful, wise advice. Re supper v dinner. Whoever you talk to over here will have a different interpretation, but "dinner" tends to be used to describe one's midday meal if you come from the North, but also for a "high end" evening meal probably with several courses, which our suppers definitely are not!

Dogged, you've made a very good start today! Does Germane willingly let you administer to her?

It's been a full day. Church was good, and then, over coffee, DF PM announced that she had been asked to be churchwarden,.and she had accepted. ( She had already told me privately at the weekend, but, of course it wasn't my place to spill the beans, before she was ready to share the news privately. ) We have two churchwardens, but one had to resign recently, due to ill health.

So, we stayed and chatted, and when I got home it was a quick turnaround. Jude is so sweet matured though, it's easy to put her into her carrier. Jude's appointment went well, (she was a little angel throughout!😀) and she's lost another 10g. Only a small amount, but at least she's still losing weight. She also had her six month check with the nurse, and was pronounced healthy, although she's starting to get a bit stiff on her back legs (she'll be 8 yo in the summer) so the nurse prescribed a joint supplement. She'll need to take this for at least 6 weeks before we can judge whether it's helping her mobility, but hopefully it will delay the need for Solensia for at least a while.

Then, we had to wait in reception for a while, for a very sad reason. A couple had brought their dog in to be PTS. He was one of the very large breeds (think the size of a great Dane or mastiff) and was still quite young. From the way he was behaving he didn't seem to be ill at all, but he was wearing a muzzle, and his owners wanted to keep him away from other people, which suggested he had maybe bitten or attacked someone? He was too big to be comfortable in one of the consulting rooms, with the two vets and the nurse that were needed due to his great size, and, of course, his family wanted to be present, so it was decided to do the deed in a private area of the car park, where there was space and privacy. Fortunately, it was dry today. Of course no one minded waiting inside as we've all been in that situation, and I suspect Thursday afternoon had been chosen as it's a quiet time.

So, when I eventually got home, I was ready for my sandwich! Jude was a little angel throughout.😀 Then, it was straight into admin for me - emailing the parish administrator to request the next parish lunch be put into the newsletter, then email the coffee team about using instant coffee for the next few weeks as the percolator isn't working, and email the proprietor of the pub where Ive booked lunch requesting a copy of the updated menu. Then I had a call.from vet R about Jude's YuMove supplements and an email from Fred's vet D about the photos I've sent across -I need to reply to him tomorrow.

Waitrose have delivered, the groceries ha e been PA and everyone has been fed. Jude enthusiastically ate her meat with the supplement mixed in, but I'm not getting too optimistic just yet. As Dogged will know, what is acceptable for one meal may well be rejected for the next meal!

 load DW
 unload DW
 helped set up for large funeral at church
 picked up statement at bank
 walked a mile - discovered I am sore from yesterday's exercise class. That means I needed it! and might be getting stronger?
 baked a pan of brownies. put the recipe into a calorie program. It came up at 434 calories for 1 piece. I went ???!!!??? and checked each ingredient then divided the total by 16, and got 135. That's more like it! The program had 4,000 calories for the butter instead of 600 (for the entire recipe, not each piece) Now maybe I can have 2 pieces?
Still work to do in my kitchen, then clean the bathroom and start on the stuff on the DR table fo=rom a couple days ago.
I had a really good night sleep last night, so I can work into the night today.

I have been out of the loop for a few days, and see travel plans: Where is everybody going?
