Good afternoon, all! I never did get back here yesterday; the wait at the lab was minimal. Blood tests came back fine except for blood sugar, which was slightly high. A1c was fine, though.

**********
And that sent me down a rabbit hole.... Last night, I decided to pursue the Wegovy pill through Weight Watchers rather than the Zepbound that my doctor prescribed. Even with the special pricing direct from the manufacturer, the Zepbound was just too expensive. (Don't worry; I did discuss with my doctor that it was a possibility.) So mentioning my labs reminded me that I needed to let my doctor (well, PA) know which way I'd decided. Which reminded me that I needed to actually enroll in the WW plan. So I just did that, which was a lot of jumping through hoops. They want my test results in a proper PDF, when all I have is screenshots from my app, so I'm not sure what I should do. They're fresh enough that the PA hasn't even reviewed them yet; maybe once they have, they'll put out a proper lab report. 🤷‍♀️

The weather here today has been springlike, but not pleasant. Rain and fog and chilly. Driving was a pain; the side mirrors would fog up while I was on the highway.

My pop tarts have no exciting messages for me, Nancy.

Never thought about different cuts of bacon, blessed (well, except for our Canadian bacon discussion).

I'm not a big fan of chicken drumsticks, Cathy, but those carrots sound to die for. I looked, and the curling replays can be found on YouTube, if I can persuade my family to watch.

"Tricked you" is the name of a pepper, LadyM? Ooh, that is something to wonder about!

Yes. it is supposedly an improvement on " Fooled You" pepper which has the jalapeno flavor without the heat.
That's what they say about the Tam Mild Jalapeno pepper too. I have found it to be true UNTIL last year. OH MY. It was so spicy HOT!
Interesting enough....it was too hot for us to eat, but I had so many that I couldn't give them all away. I decided to freeze them. Here we are months later and I'm using these peppers almost every day when I cook and they are no longer hot. Strange! Apparently freezing the hot, spicy pepper and cooking them will take away the spicy heat but leave the good pepper flavor.
Who knew?! I am constantly learning.

I have the fence put back in place to keep Sam out of the garden. I had to make sure he was on the right side of the fence before completely closing it.

It is our first "teeth and bra" night of 2026. That is a local saying when the storms with tornado potential are supposed to happen during the night hours. aka....go to bed but stay ready to respond

I filled the dishwasher with large bowls and there was just enough room for the 2 plates we used and 2 of the 3 cat plates. The smallest cat doesn't eat all of her food at the same time. She eats some and then goes and has a bath and a short nap and reappears a little while later to eat the rest of it.

I also washed 2 more pots. I do rinse every pot out on the same night I use it, but then they "soak" with hot bubbly water until I get to them. I hate dishes. I hate pots and pans. I hate large utensils. I would rather scrub a toilet or mop floors rather than do dishes.

I'm up later than I want, but I need to take a few minutes to relax.

DS17 and 2 friends have been moving furniture for the past hour. Neighbor got new living furniture and gave their 2 year old couch & loveseat to DS17. The old couch that was in DS17 room is now loaded in pickup to be hauled to trash tomorrow. The teens did a good job in arraigning the furniture in DS17 room to get the most use of the space.

I'm going to do my best to ignore the teens doings for the rest of the evening and go to bed.

Sweet dreams to all.

Thanks, Twins, maybe I should increase withholdings from retirement. A little less than $200 a month would cover it, wouldn't it?
OTOH -- my income will change again after I go on Medicare in August and the CD comes due in October... so maybe I should wait another year and see what happens there.

I'm sorry I have been on such a monologue about this roof but it is making me kinda sick at my stomach.
I have another person coming tomorrow, and ds seems to think I should at least see what dmom's roofer will price it at. Even though he has such terrible reviews on FB. (And I know a lot of people will go on FB to rant and rave about something they don't like, but they are slow to brag about something good.) But our contractor friend knows someone who used them and this person did say they did a good job. I don't know how long he has had to "test" it out... could be like dmom, less than a year of use. And if he's a LOT cheaper than the others, one has to question why.

I don't know. I'm just going to keep praying about it.

Accountant did tell me there's a Energy Saver credit for metal roofs, if they meet a certain standard, and the one today said his does. (Up to $1200, accountant said,)
Today the man also said he would not hesitate to do shingles again on my roof. I'm just afraid that I will end up replacing them again -- I hope I live longer than 16 more years! Of course, he can't make any guarantees, but he also can't say I WILL be replacing them again. And my insurance premiums will go down, the lady at the office told me, because I'll have a brand new roof... AND I can promise you I will have a lower deduction next time around!
Tomorrow is another day.
