Re: Henri Matisse Monday
Ah, Bama, rink boards! Think of a hockey rink. When I have a small box to throw out, like cookie box or the box that the plastic pouch of curry sauce comes in, I cut it down so that it has a bottom and two sides that meet in one corner. I slide it under the corner of the pee pads so that it lifts them just a little. Because it creates a gentle slope, it runs the pee toward the centre of the pee pad instead of the floor. I'm not sure if my explanation makes sense. If not, let me know and I'll try to post a picture.

Bama, I still see you!
Dogged, it's not that they don't like cheese, it's just that they each prefer a different kind of cheese! But my kids are VERY picky eaters. So is my husband, so I know who to blame for those genes!
helia, there were boneless skinless chicken thighs in the fridge and some dried gnocchi in the pantry, so I made improvised creamy tomato chicken and gnocchi, added some shredded mozarella and put it under the oven grill for a couple minutes. No leftovers, unfortunately!
L.Ann,
Onto my last two sets!
TaDas
- midday routine
- 15 in DBD's room
- start dinner
- chase kids to do homework
- load of lighst flipped to dryer
ToDos
- afternoon routine
- DBD's speech therapy
- 10 more in DBD's room - DH is in charge of keeping her room tidy, but the best he can do most of the time is "keep enough floor clean to walk to the bed"
----
- freezer cooking with leftover chicken breasts
- bake something sweet for snacks for DS and DBD
- evening routine
and then call it quits!

Re: Henri Matisse Monday
Thanks Dogged, Sams usually has boxes of various sizes, maybe I can improvise something similar.
lol trissie, you can still see me bc I’m old and slow so my zoom zoom is very drawn out.
Kitkat, idk who to count so I’m not sure how many cats I have, with ferals and strays and what have you, over a dozen anyway.
Helia, some of that water hasn’t been imbibed yet but it’s in my glass so I’m counting it.
Nothing new here, just putting off pw pile which is next on the list.

Lauralind, pain can suck the motivation right out of you. Is there any possibility of bringing in some help for the housework as you did for your dfather? For now, you certainly deserve to celebrate your accomplishments, and be kind to yourself on what you can't get done.
Chili for dinner sounds good, L.Ann.
Adding bacon to cabbage sounds delicious, trissie.
Why, kitkat, I can so easily resist walking my dog before breakfast that I successfully resist it every day!
trissie, I am nature's equal and opposite reaction to picky eaters. I am easily pleased, LOL. But I can sympathize with trying to feed picky eaters. I never expected to face that with a dog, LOL.
And speaking of eating, I'm getting hungry but can't decide what I want to eat. All these suggestions look good!
Monday
Accepted delivery. Moved boxes into apartment. Discovered that not all body parts were participating in the endeavour.
Cleaned up after dog
Fed Germane
Started pot of coffee
Scrubbed out sink and basin
Repurposed some boxes for a filing system
Dusted the high things with the extender duster
Washed a few basinsful of dishes
Fed Germane: hooray! She still likes the First Mate dog food.
Tested Parrot TV on my tablet: it works
Checked out a web site that I have not used in a long time

Re: Henri Matisse Monday
So many good suggestions.. I think it's true helian. You're just ahead of me. It is much easier now that mom is in care but maybe I was getting in a hurry thinking it should be settled now. Hah... now dad is seeming to need more care. Except he's much harder to help. I just got off the phone with my sister. A handful of medical issues to help with and sort out. Thankfully we have poa for him coming... he just doesn't understand anything medical.. much less technology.. and what else. Oohh and that cleaning service? Once mom went into care and he got a little rested... well.. he canceled it
. Thinking he can do it. Well yes he can.
Very thankful mom is in good care now. Dad sees that and it saves one side of the worry. He still finds other things.
Ohh and I am not sure I mentioned it but dad's sister passed away last week. Just adding to everything.

Well, that sounds delicious and I'm not surprised there are no leftovers, trissie!
((Lauralind)), you just have a lot going on. I'm sorry for the passing of your aunt.
If your pup is like Fable, I can easily see how you're muddy, kitkat. Have fun at the science fair!
That's very resourceful and clever, Doggedly - just like you!
You're inspiring me to try to drink more water today, Bama.
I've got my AR Exam and AK made. I got a few groceries - but will need to get more for the dinner party tomorrow night, once I know what is being cooked (and for how many).
Next:

Later:

- load of towels and sheets

- payroll: update gradelink week 3
- (maybe) payroll: make a practice exam
- dress to jog
- jog
- dinner: lentil curry, rice, roasted veggies
- after dinner clean up
- duolingo
- update health apps
- writing time?
- reading time?
TaDas!
- up; weighed self - up 2 pounds but I'm not sure that's real
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website
- some qt
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- squeegee and wipe down shower
- unpack suitcase
- lots of payroll communication
- reply to SC re: Anglican church plant mtgs
- payroll: started grading projects
- lunch
- tidy kitchen; run dw
- 1 - 1:50 payroll: instructor meeting
- WF list
- WF
- put everything away
- payroll: made AR Exam and AK
- payroll: updated time sheet

Re: Henri Matisse Monday
Hello, everyone!
Just a quick CI, as it's been one of those days, but, after some nagging on my part, the kit for tomorrow 's appointment with the broadband engineer has arrived safely. Freddie threatened a water meter reader when he was out for his walk this morning
, and I never got round to mopping the muddy footprints (both human and feline!) from the hall floor
-it would appear that no one uses the doormat! Still if I get early tomorrow I might have time to quickly mop the floor. OTOH, if the engineer is male, he probably won't notice!
However , I did manage to clean upstairs and had a few minutes deadheading daffodils in my garden.

There is a hardy geranium that's looking sad, but it might do better with less competition andore light? Maybe I could just sow some low growing hardy annuals and see what happens?

Re: Henri Matisse Monday
(((Lauralind and dfamily))) You've all had a lot to deal with. No wonder your head hurts!
That is good advice, L.Ann. Progress that doesn't burn you out.
Being willing to unpack is a good quality in a DH, helia.
Why, thank you. I had stopped doing the rink boards when Germane's back end got weak, but have had to go back to putting them on when I found myself washing that part of the floor every time that she peed.
That is good news that you have received the kit that the engineer will need tomorrow, Kittykatt. I'm glad that you had a chance to spend some time in your garden.
Monday
Accepted delivery. Moved boxes into apartment. Discovered that not all body parts were participating in the endeavour.
Cleaned up after dog
Fed Germane
Started pot of coffee
Scrubbed out sink and basin
Repurposed some boxes for a filing system
Dusted the high things with the extender duster
Washed a few basinsful of dishes
Fed Germane: hooray! She still likes the First Mate dog food.
Tested Parrot TV on my tablet: it works
Checked out a web site that I have not used in a long time
Cleaned up after dog
Checked dishes and put away dry
Took the bone out of Germane’s broth.
Picked over it, and got a surprising amount of meat from it for her
Batched up most of the bone broth and put it in the fridge
Gave Germane a little saucer of bone broth
Germane spread it around the kitchen floor. I slipped in it, but did not die. That dog has been watching too many murder mysteries!
Dusted with a damp cloth. Made the mistake of going into the clothes closet area and got my hair snagged in a hanger. Finally brought hanger, clothes and all to the bathroom to extract myself in front of the mirror.
Fed Germane
Batched up the last of the bone broth. Germane seems pretty indifferent to it.
