Good morning, FFB! I'm sure the "right" job is out there for you somewhere. Sending you perseverance vibes for your job hunting process. Does DS10 have an inhaler for his asthma, and is he able to use it without supervision yet? ( I know from personal experience that some times are much easier to use than others!) Also breathing exercises are a very useful strategy to help with that panicky "I can't breathe" feeling. I've found this site helpful with my asthma:
https://www.asthmaandlung.org.uk/sympto ... thlessness

Dogged, what a good strategy to obtain something positive from interrupted sleep. I hope Germane allows to to sleep for the rest of the night!

DH has been launched for the day, Fred has been for his walk, and I've tidied upstairs. I need to wait in for a parcel, so I'm going to tidy downstairs and then go out in my front garden.

Good morning KitKat and L.Ann!

Yikes on the freezing rain, KitKat -I hope it warms up for you. Enjoy DD's visit!

I hope DD enjoys her basketball,.L.Ann,.and that it's not too tedious for you!

Just had a knock at the door from a lady who had "come about the puppy". Of course we dont have any puppies! As soon as I answered the door, the poor lady realised something was very wrong, as the person she had been talking to on the phone, and to whom she had paid the deposit for this puppy was a "foreign lady". I checked she had come to the correct address (the road signage is either non existent or ambiguous here) and yes she had come to the address she had been given. She showed the the video of the puppies she had had been sent, (fairly easy to "obtain" this online, as there are many places legitimately selling puppies), and, of course, the "foreign lady" wouldn't answer the phone when she tried ringing her to ask what was going on. I suggested she contact her bank to stop the payment, and consider contacting the police.

Our road is very small , and you have to drive through several other roads to reach here, and the numbering is eccentric, so I think it's unlikely to been picked by some random scammer, but more likely.to be chosen by someone with local.knowlege. Which is why I have a suspicion that our foreign neighbours down the road (or the gang they're part of - they have certainly had some "interesting" visitors lately) *may* be implicated in this. After all, they've been involved in the illegal tobacco trade, wheeling and dealing some very "dodgy" cars, they're almost certainly in involved chocolate smuggling, so why not add "selling totally fictitious puppies" to their CV? I didn't voice my suspicions to the poor lady, as I dont have any actual proof , but it's food for thought. I'll ask around and see if any of the other neighbours have had a similar experience.

But now, my sitting room is still calling.me!

Morning all. Kittykat that is unfortunate I hope that lady gets her money back on a fictitious puppy. Disappointing for her. Crazy cats trying to wake you by jarring the curtain.

Gma that's amazing 3 am bread. Winter is hanging on tight where you are.

Frenchie hopefully ds10 feels better soon. Sounds like a nice relaxing day. Hopefully something different will be found for work soon. You have been frustrated ever since you started there of I remember right and a long commute?

Trissie enjoy your less kids day. They are all getting so much older. Busy teen house almost.

Morning lann. Did I miss anyone?

I need a productive day. Somehow. We are leaving next week for dd and dfil area. Dh brother id coming. Probably going to spend the first night at our usual stopping place the other brother and family. Ds and ddil and dgs are coming for most of the week too. I think the plan will be all the kids staying at dd place and us and the brother stay at dad's and bring him back and forth most days. I should see what dd says. And confirm it all with ds tonight. Going there for supper after work.

While we're away I have a coworker friend coming to pet sit. Today's plan is to clean out dd ( guest room and wash bedding etc so it's ready for her to stay. Lots of laundry is the plan. Music prep. I really need to be productive. I want to have a down day. Guess laundry is hurry up and wait. Time for music and crafts and such. I was counting on some qt as Saturday usually is sleep in for ds16 but here he is before 7 today.

Priority list โœจ๏ธ

Kitchen clean
Declutter craft room a little
Move some of ds stuff out of guest room
Wash bedding from master bedroom
Guest room
Freshen craft room bed
Some qt and counseling homework
Music prep on piano for tomorrow
Test out flute part of the choral music

Today's tada list

Finish qt
Shower
S&s both baths and reboot laundry
Take sheets off bed for wash and start
Put away a bunch of laundry

Thatโ€™s terrible, kittykatt. You have to be so careful theses days. Yay for a pet sitter, Laura. I checked with my pet sitter and she can do both our Hawaii trip and NIH trip. I need to ask someone to water the garden when we are in Hawaii. Basketball is fine. The issue is it is a two hour drive for two 30 minute games and there is an hour between games so itโ€™s a long day. But I planned for the day and we have nothing on the schedule tomorrow.

I need to relook at my meals because I have Little Bit late 2 nights this week.

1-menus

Menus
Saturday-eat out after bball

I'm just now getting here. It is almost 11 a.m. I was awake for a while around 5:30 am but fell back asleep and got up for good around 9:15 a.m. LOL! Since then, I've had coffee, written a long chatty email to friend ML in Israel, and written an email to EP asking about her ds' university decision. I'm hoping he chooses a Michigan university. I know UM's out of state tuition is ridiculously high, like about $64K a year. That doesn't include housing or living expenses or books. They're pretty generous with financial aid though. MSU is a bit cheaper.

Gma, that's very committed and generous of you to drop off freshly baked bread at 3 a.m.! I bet ds appreciated it this morning.
Ooh a Hawaii trip, L Ann! 8-) When is it? Are you going with all your daughters and families? It's so nice to have fun trips to look forward to. We had tentatively planned to go to Hawaii this June as dh has a conference there, but he's decided to skip this conference this year as it interferes with dd30's event. One of his grad students can go and present the paper/s.
Kitty, I hope that woman can reverse the charges and does report the scam to the police. Ha - they chose the wrong address when they chose yours, meaning - they probably didn't think you'd encourage her to report it to the police. But now she doesn't get the puppy she was hoping for today.
I agree with others, FFB. A family movie in the afternoon and rugby in the evening sounds lovely for a rainy day. I hope ds10 feels better. I also hope you can eventually find a job that fits you well.
FFB, Dh and I are looking into a week in S. France and Spain this summer after our hut tour in the Alps. We're thinking about spending a few days in Provence, an area I've never visited. Do you have a city you'd recommend for a stay in Provence? We're thinking of Avignon.
So good you found a petsitter for your trip Lauralind. I hope you have some productivity today as well as some time to rest and relax.
kitkat, we had sleet a couple times yesterday, and it was very windy all day. Today, it's quiet and calm. There is even sunshine. Maybe the calm weather is headed your way.
trissie, we now have a steamer closet. We hang clothes in it, and it steams them to (1) get rid of the wrinkles and (2) get rid of bacteria that cause smells. We love it! Dh uses it the most. It takes 65 minutes though. Not fast. I see 2 of your kids are going to the zoo today! Enjoy a quieter house!
Being woken by a howling dog sounds stressful, Doggedly. I hope you got more rest.

Yesterday, I finished the course overviews and vocab lists for payroll S3 set up. I also completed the placement interview + notes, did a lot of communication with AC, did my work out with AS, washed and dried a load of towels - still sitting in the dryer. I tried 2x to order a wedding gift, and both times I couldn't get through to pay. :x Dinner - Dh and I went out for Asian noodle bowls.

Today, is actually sunny! And it's above freezing now. 8-) I'm going to go for a jog next. Other things I'd like to do today: try a SA drop off (bags of Mom's decluttered stuff), spend time writing, read dh's chapter, and work on updating the materials part of the teacher website. Dinner will be leftovers, something from the freezer OR the leftover tuna pasta.

Dh has said he wants to get our taxes done tonight. He has also said he wants to plan and reserve our trip to Europe this summer this weekend. After the family hut tour in the Alps, we hope to travel in S. France, Provence area, and Spain. I don't think we can do taxes AND get the trip sorted out. (The hut tour was reserved by his sister a long time ago; we'll a party of 20 hiking in the Alps, ages 8 - 65ish. :) THAT needed to be reserved early.)

Next:
- back exercises
- eat something
- some qt while eating

Later:
- dress to jog
- load car with bags
- SA - charity give away
- JOG
- s2s and self care
- squeegee and wipe down shower
- fold and p/a towels
- coffee shop with dh
- payroll: update instructor site
- read dh's chapter
- writing time
- other things?
- dinner: leftovers, green salad
- after dinner clean up
- duolingo

โ˜€๏ธGood morning, world! ๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ

Thanks for getting us going, trissie. Iโ€™m betting I donโ€™t pronounce any of those French words properly lol.
Sounds like the iron is helping with your workload.

Kittykatt, that poor woman expecting a puppyโ€ฆcould you offer up Freddie as a companion? Iโ€™m just teasing, I know heโ€™s family, but I couldnโ€™t resist. That sort of thing is common here too, offering goods for money online and vanishing, sadly.

French, I totally get work related stress. Sending good work vibes to you for your current situation and for a better one very soon. Enjoy your family time.

Gma, how do I get on that bread delivery service? Your son is very fortunate to have you. Itโ€™s sweet that you miss your gentleman while heโ€™s gone. Makes the reunion that much better.

Laura, have fun at your family gathering.

LAnn, hope you enjoy the basketball game. Itโ€™s nice to have a reliable pet sitter. Hawaii sounds so good.

Dogged, very wise of you to sneak that pill in and now itโ€™s done. So sorry about the howling and so early.

Kitkat, stay safe out there.

Helia, hope you got some good rest in there. I will take a steamer closet over having to iron any day.

I donโ€™t iron anymore since dh doesnโ€™t work at a โ€œdress upโ€ kind of job, he has uniforms. They used to have a service do the laundry but cut that out so I do wash but they donโ€™t wrinkle, thank goodness. And Iโ€™m usually in tshirts and shorts so those are simple to care for, other than getting bleach spots on them, which I did yesterday on a brand new shirt. I canโ€™t be trusted with nice things lol.
I did in fact nap yesterday, and then did nothing the rest of the time. It was so nice. It was hard to get up today. I did make a grocery order for dh to pick up and bring back breakfast so Iโ€™d get moving. I put color on my hair while heโ€™s gone. After I shower that off and eat, I need to load up things for Hollywood (a large coffee table and some small decor) and for a florist (old canning jars of dhโ€™s mother they buy from us with credit to the store) and head out.
Hope you all have a wonderful day.
โ™ฅ Wake each day expecting good things to happen! โ™ฅ
