english muffin 2 starch, 1 fat

crackers 1 starch

egg salad 1 protein, 1/2 fat
waldorf salad with grapes 1 fruit, 1/2 fat
gazpacho 1 veg
crackers 1 starch

cappucinno 1 1/2 dairy, 1/2 starch
cookies 2 starch

970 calories

All together now in unison we will shake our heads and say that isn't enough. I wasn't hungry and my servings were 1/2 servings or less at dinner.

I will not eat if my stomach isn't hungry. It got me in trouble before.

Insalata Caprese .25 protein, .25 veg
parfait 1 starch, 1/2 dairy, 1 fruit

840 calories but I'm rounding to 900 because I had to guess on some items.

Same song second verse all together now in unison we will shake our heads and say that isn't enough. I'm too full now for anything.

little cookie - 50

Better day with the similar 6-7 veggie/fruit count but less white flour. Maybe too much sodium - I think I feel it. I regret the Doritos. The big mac half was a leftover I was trying not to waste, especially with no one to cook for (HRH not eating with me). Perhaps I should have exercised my authority over food and thrown it away. Oh :idea: I think I will give Sammie the other half in the morning.


Enjoying reading excellent choices here from salmon to mango juice! Happy for our losers and happier if anyone feels better because they ate a little better.

Not the best day but not horrible. Starches - 8.6

I didn't really have that many starches because the potatoe (2.5 starches) was split with LO but it did start out on my plate so i am counting it.
Ditto on the Fig Newton cookies - I was feeding LO the cookies at my parents home and I found myself hold parts of 2 cookies that LO had started eating and I finished them. :roll: I would rather be high on the counts than underestimate.

I'm sorry. I'm hanging in here, just trying to use a little bit of common sense and -- as you mentioned -- not eat if I'm not hungry. This first week back at school is just too hectic and too nerve-wracking for me to concentrate on starches, etc... and my groceries are not what they should be right now, either, but I am just trying to survive and hold what I've got till I get back in the school routine.

I was VERY proud of myself this afternoon, b/c instead of starting a long snack marathon after school/before supper, I ate a small portion of cereal (Kashi) and stopped at that -- just kept myself busy and I was fine till dh and I ate supper.
ALSO -- had fried fish and baked potato for supper, and bag of M&M's, but I DID remember to eat a salad before I started.
Lunch was regular McD hamburger & french fries.
Also remembered to drink water today -- which I've been overlooking too often, lately.
LONG WAY from perfect, but if I can leave off snacks, that's a big victory for me.

Exercise is suffering lately, too, but after working up a sweat by 8:00 a.m. yesterday -- moving desks, bookshelves, etc. -- I didn't feel too guilty about that either. I was on my feet just about every minute of yesterday, and most of today, too.
Tomorrow is another day.

I am up a lb this morning :cry:

I'm mentally going through my day yesterday to make sure I didn't miss anything. I wrote EVERYTHING down. The only thing I can think of is the meatloaf. I didn't measure it and it was a large serving so it was could have been more than I accounted for.

The weight gain is water - it has to be because I'm not eating enough to gain weight. So far this week I am averaging 5.9 starches and 1178 calories.

Soooo I'm just going to hang in there and keep doing what I'm doing and hopefully the scale will show it ....eventually. I know I probably shouldn't weigh everyday but when I stopped weighing myself daily the weight seemed to shoot up without any restraint. Soooo- I don't like seeing the scale go in the wrong direction, but I expect this is just a bump in the road to successful weight loss.
