If someone finds extra motivation please send it my way. I seem to be perfectly content to go at a slow speed.

DS12 requested to put up the outdoor Christmas decorations. I gave him permission to do it. This is his first time doing this so I'm interested in what or how he decides to decorate.

School.....hum....I knew something was missing.

DS12 requested to trim the hedges in front of our home before he put up decoration. I showed him how to use the electric hedge trimmers and monitored him for the first few hedges. DH is watching DS12 now to make sure he stays aware of the placement of the electrical cord. No school assignments happening yet for DS12 today but he is learning life skills.

DD9 is working on her school assignments with a good attitude.

I am pleased with the general happy atmosphere and everyone busy doing something.....uhmmmm I guess except me because I'm here. I came to the laptop to record DD9 grades and then I found myself in the SHE village. oops.

I am up had snow so change of plans a bit. It is not sticking on the roads.
I have been tweaking my planners a bit. Some pages needed to be trimmed off did that. Others I re - labeled with markers to reuse for notes etc.
Moved the small tree to a taller spot to be seen a bit better from the road maybe. Not sure bc of the tree in the front yard.
I was up in the nite did some knitting then back to bed, got up thinking of an order I want to do thinking on when.
My other blue & grey wool fiber to spin did not come yet...
Did 30 on the stat bike.
I've had lunch.
Way to go with all your progress Gals!

I'm glad you're checking in with us LadyM. Don't beat yourself up about it, you have had a lot going on and need a respite now and then.

I liked the monument guy and will recommend him for some work at the temple cemetery assuming this all goes well. His grandfather is well known in the local genealogy community for his cemetery surveys.

And I got home (obviously!) and wrapped up the Hanukkah gifts for dh, ds and dd. Ds had called me this a.m. and I was straight up with him and told him I needed another gift for him, what did he want/need? And he really just wants an Amazon gift card so he can buy new phone, so that's what I did and put it in a festive bag.

So dd says now that she went to help a friend yesterday who is very sick, but has had two negative covid tests. And this gal's significant other also has tested negative. But R is exhausted, running a fever and has the runs. DD wore a mask with her but did help her to the bathroom. DD wanted us to be aware, in case we didn't want her around tonight.

I need to get busy again. I'll get the brisket out of the oven at 2 p.m.

Dh has gone out so I'm going to try to vacuum the house. Should be somewhat quicker because I vacuumed partially on Wednesday. Setting timer for BOTH. Also need to make the bed. I need to hurry get the vacuum out and get started in MBR. Muffin is on her bed in our GR.

Dh and I decided we're okay with seeing dd tonight.

Oh my, Twins. Let's just hope it wasn't Covid. I know ds-A tested negative but Health Dept is sure he was positive. Think he told me yesterday he's about a day away from end of being quarantined.

How do you season your beef brisket and how do you bake(?) it? Asking for a friend (DD :D )

Dh and dsonil are home from his Mom's. Brought me home a new cookbook that his Mom just bought from Q V C before she passed away (P ioneer W oman). Really interesting and different from any other I've seen before. They'll be on the lookout for more good cookbooks there. I love cookbooks -just don't cook much from them but sure do find interesting recipes. :D I have several G ooseberry ones -I just need to use them more.

I need to get busy and get something done!!!!

Not sure it's here either, Lady M. But lets just agree that 'slow speed' is better than ZERO speed and at least we'll get something done. :?

Yup...slow speed worked for me yesterday.

Dee... I loved my gooseberry cookbook but got rid of them long ago. I could look at them all day. If I had my way and didn’t have to worry about clutter, I would have a very large storage area built so I could collect dishes and cookbooks. My friend just told me the other day, her mom buys dinner ware like some womenfolk by shoes. I told her that would be me!!! I love China and setting my table with pretty things! Not really a girlie girl in the way I dress, but if I didn’t watch myself, my shelves would be filled with China.

I once had a friend who bought a complete dinner set of good China when it went on sale. She owned 12 place setting of extraordinary China, none of them matched. and set her table with them. Whether she was serving 4,6,8 10 or all 12 her table looked amazing

Back from Costco and can’t believe I’m saying this, but it was easy peasy! My store has installed self-checkout and that made a huge difference for us.

Glad Blessed is taking a nap... her body probably needs it.

Once I finish my cup of tea I need to wrap several small presents to get them ready to mail...

I have heard (numerous times) that Covid is all about the lungs, not anything to do with anywhere needing toilet paper. I've been hearing that ever since the Australians first started the tp buying thing, which had North Americans buying too much toilet paper and then the other shortages when people decided that they had to stock up on everything back in March.

I have FINISHED absolutely all of the Christmas shopping. Both of dh's large gifts are wrapped and under the tree. Just need to wrap stocking stuffers. I have until supper time of the 24th to do that.

Maids came on Wednesday, and they both got an extra 50%. All corporate gifts have been delivered.

So happy to be done, done, done!

It's a very warm and sunny day here. 60 degrees with no wind. I burned a bunch of stuff this morning.

We are going out for Korean BBQ tonight.

LadyM, mine is braised, meaning cooked on low temp with moisture. I'm embarrassed to share the recipe which is loaded with sugar and artificial flavors and preservatives. Brisket in pan, salt and pepper well and pound in if you can. Cut slits with the grain and put slivers of garlic into slits. Pour Kitchen Bouquet (browning sauce) all over. Add onions, carrots, potatoes around it in pan. Pour a can of coca cola over it all and then cover with ketchup. Add a little water if needed to almost cover Start in oven at 350, turn down to 300 degrees, cook 3 hours. Longer obviously for bigger briskets. Use whatever quantities of other ingredients you want. We used sweet potatoes instead of white potatoes this time. (Like that makes it healthy? )

I finished vacuuming. I happened to see that dd had called me twice so I called her back and (cue drama) dh had called her asking questions about her friend who is sick and she felt stupid because she went over there in the first place and was upset. After dh told me he was fine!

He is still out. This round I need to set the table at opposite ends of dining room. Now I'm second guessing whether she should come but she says she's depressed dh doesn't want her now. On the other hand, this friend of dd's may be a bit of a hypochondriac. The scare we had back in Sept was because this gal didn't feel well for a day or two. OTOH, it sounds like she's sick.

I'm going to start the challah this time and dust...

Cathy, I've read that it can cause the runs also. This list of symptoms covers about everything tho: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nc ... ptoms.html

How I wish for "normal" again.
