Dh texted that the shower was fine, he's gone out to have lunch with someone.
I had kids from across the street come to the door asking for sugar, gave them a small bag. Dog has been in and out. Text about HOA dues, had to go to mailbox to check for them but dh had brought in and left on my computer. Another trip by youngest child for eggs, lol.

A pensive, skippable rant -
Our temp only reached 11 last night, as far as we can find in various records. This morning, thermostat showed that the system was indeed still struggling with the work - about 5 degrees lower indoors than the setting the repairman had left. After hours of sunshine, at 35 degrees. it's still struggling. On the one hand, of course I am grateful that this much efficiency is happening. On the other, however, we bit a very difficult bullet in March and decided a lot of money should be put into the (wholesome, sensible) direction of heating and air conditioning that was touted to last for at least a decade, probably much more. We know that it really is a B o s c h new system - nothing switched or anything like that. Local company's reputation is stellar. And it is the new technology that is supposed to be efficient, not just to the single digits, but to zero.
At this point, I'm beginning to think that since so many decisions we've made regarding HVAC over decades have turned out to be disappointments, maybe this is an area in which expecting a whole lot and expending a whole lot just isn't worth it.

Cathy, I'm glad today was a day for her to come. Does she do anything like giving nursing opinion, such as for dh's leg? Hoping the appt coming up is a helpful one.
A cooking thought - I really like the mushroom sauce that restaurants use over "mushroom and swiss burgers" that one often finds on menus. In our area, for instance, a chain called Har dees manages a really good one, but of course we like to make our own burgers at home from veggiemeat. How come I couldn't find a recipe very close online. I know sometimes the online versions can be a bit "off" but sometimes pretty close ... .. And, gee, here's a potential one. found so fast. Hopeful.
Harriet in this area we do not use the heat pump type of heating b/c it's too cold and does not work well enough here.
Needs auxiliary heat source as well. sil did not use them.
I'm glad to be able to say I figured out some thing with my writing on how to string stuff together.
Had to think on it for a bit.
Lunch happened.
Went outside for 20 min. rebooted the trash can for next week.
Then picked up after the ddoggo; saw the neighbors had 2 cute pups 12 ish weeks old & their adult dog in the back yd.
I thought my dog was barking nope she was just sitting at the fence watching proud dog mom moment.
The did not come close to the fence. Might be getting trained or be dog sitting.
I've been glad to see some sun today.
We have walked. 44* f. outside now 3 degrees from our high temp.
----- I found snow drops in bloom in my back yard just starting!
Also the bird bath has thawed out.

hello hello!
I am sitting here listening to dd younger making plans (finding flights) from Florida to Breckenridge to shoot a wedding -she is paid a lump fee. The housing is free as the wedding party is staying at an air b n b.
she has been on the phone with me -She just wants support while she is working on costs. she is trying to find out if she has enough money to go to a seminar here - I think its too expensive for the seminar and she is beginning to think the same. she is looking into what is the cheapest. Thank goodness that it is on her mind. - she is also down in Florida and she can't get her meds she has been on for her ADHD - the meds have been amazing for her. I am so pleased.
can't stay - wish I could - dd younger just hung up after an hour.
mom is feeling sick today.
need to empty the dw and wash the kitchen floor - dh is eating some meatballs and spaghetti for lunch.
waving to you all.
We made it to above freezing (34F) for 2 hours today. It was nice to be above freezing while it lasted but not much is melting. They are saying we will receive freezing fog in the morning that will cover everything with a layer of ice. It is like a winter oreo - ice covered by snow then covered by ice.
Heat pumps are used in our area but they have been getting lots of discussion about their limitations. Some of the recently built homes have them and they fail during these extended cold spells. Local FB groups have been busy with several new & frantic homeowners discussing how the heat pump failed and then the water pipes in the homes froze.
I have been using a shovel to clear a path to walk in the garden. I can now walk 55 steps....turn around and walk 55 steps back. It might not sound like much but it feels like FREEDOM to me. After 4 days of pacing inside the house, I can finally breathe fresh air and feel the sun.
Baked potatoes happened in the instant pot. They have so many uses. I made 2 pans of Pigs in a Blanket with various things in the center. - hot links, wieners and mozzarella cheese sticks were wrapped inside the dough.
We just got word that school is canceled again tomorrow.

I talked to the PSW regarding wound care and they aren't allowed to do that. A Home Healthcare nurse will come for that if needed.
Dh and I both had a nap. I told him to wake me up at 4 just in case. I ended up waking up at 3:30. Before I got under the covers I went out to the garage and brought in meatballs, peppers, a pork chop and a package of beef liver. Dh has been asking for liver for a couple of weeks now, so that will most likely be on Thursday,
Dh is watching curling.

I'm just frustrated this afternoon. Today's presentations have been deadly boring to me - mostly Japanese-American research. I just turned off the sound, lol. Stick a fork in me, I'm done.
I walked ddog this afternoon and she's still majorly constipated - trying again and again so the walk took awhile and I used a bunch of poopy bags because there was a little here and there and I kept picking it up. And she won't eat the food with medication added to it - this was to calm down the barking and crazy a little.
I am exhausted. Dh has gone to bowl tonight.

I got my haircut today — just a trim — and got the boots for Dgd. Took dgs home and brought dgs back with me. She has eaten some of last night’s spaghetti and is now watching videos on the iPad.
I’m sleepy. Cousin woke me at 8:00 am. She is upset about child/grands. Made me thankful my only reason for concern is messiness.
I am enjoying the new-to-me space that was set up after DD14 switched bedrooms. This space is dedicated for doing things that bring me joy.
So far I am using it every day, sometimes several times a day. Playing the piano (keyboard) and singing. Experimenting with fabric, various layouts spread out on a vertical area, quilt patterns and sewing machine piddling. Vegetable and flower seeds are being organized and categorized in plastic craft containers that work perfect for seed packets.
I ignored DS17 space as long as I could. Now I am cleaning it a square foot a day. It is surprising how fast the clean space increases with consistent effort. DS17 is an amazing young man......however, he is perfectly fine with living in a mess. When he sees other places similarly messy, he thinks it is disgusting and gross. However,.his own messy space doesn't seem to faze him.
