Hi again!

Ffb, yep I’m an empty nester. One dd lives and works 2+ hours away in another state, the other lives 5 hours away in another direction while she attends the university of Alabama. I’m not sure if she will move closer to home once she graduates or further as she wants to work in a museum. I’m not exactly sure how that will turn out. There is always some form of guilt but I try to stifle it down.

LAnn, your days will definitely look different once little bit is in school, plus you’ll have school events to look forward to.

Trissie, welcome back. I’m almost envious of that trip. I love Monet and collect prints of his. They’re so calming in topic and color schemes. 😍 I’m glad you had a good time.

Gma, enjoy your day of various meals and company.
I still have my set of “Little House…”

Helia, you’re sounding full of energy after your busy Sunday. Glad the insurance issue got worked out. Reminds me I need to call our bank. They switched computer systems and now nobody can access their accounts.

I’ve piddled away my morning. I told myself I was going to spend :30 in every room every day this week and that seems not as doable right now. It’s my own fault. I’ll give it a shot. First up is dailies.

Pet chores

Loaded Greek fries remind me of tacos, lettuce wraps or a grain bowl, Trissie. I make roasted potato fries and top it with grilled chicken pieces. Then everyone adds what they want… onion, tomato, avocado, pepper, salsa and feta cheese. It is filling and since everyone has choices of add one it is a favorite. Something with an easy base and extras by choice go over well here!

Hello, all. Thanks for the interesting start, Kittykatt. I'm not sure that I really understood it. Is the trench like a haha? It's hard to picture people trying to sneak into the gallows but if there were originally a house or fort there then it would make sense.
We have those allergy wannabes here too, but I had no idea that they were pretending to be allergic to penicillin to make themselves feel special. 30 years ago, everybody was suddenly lactose intolerant, as that was in fashion, now it's gluten intolerant and self-diagnosed ADHD. Waitstaff have endless stories about customers who claim to have celiac but when they are told the dish that they want has gluten in it, they can suddenly tolerate it. It seems a lot worse to mislead doctors just to make themselves feel special. That, of course, is different from having been told that you are allergic but not knowing what the symptoms are, which you were upfront about. That is not an attempt to mislead, but just not having the full information.

FrenchFly, I don't think that there is any level of "enough" that frees a mother of guilt. You are doing a great job with your dsons.

Hi, L.Ann. You are such a good mother to your DD. She is lucky to have a mother who is so involved in her care.

Mmmmm... blue cheese, Bama.

Hi, helia. I'm glad that your symptoms are manageable.

I'm glad that you had such a great vacation, trissie--a true break.

Enjoy your lunch out, Gma.

I have to stop CUOP and grab something to eat and spiff myself before I take Germane to the vet. It doesn't look like rain, so I am hoping that I can just carry her over.

LAnn, the fries sound delicious and easily customized.

Doggedly, it does seem like things trend. I’ve wondered about that. Speaking for myself only, I used to be oblivious to what was going on outside my own world, so maybe I’m just now noticing it more, maybe because of all the media around? Who knows.

Dd1 has always eaten dairy, for over 25 years, for the past couple of years it messes up her system. Has she developed an allergic reaction, has the makeup of the products changed, I wonder…. As long as she’s near a restroom and really wants something (cheese, ice cream usually) she will indulge and pay the price later and she’s ok with it. One thing that might have messed up her body is she dated a guy who had to add loads of pepper to everything, thinking now that’s probably what ate her stomach lining or something…ok I’m rambling… 😝

Do:
Planner catchup (I’m at least a month behind)

Done:
Pet chores
Thawed meat for meatloaf and frozen creamed corn
Wiped down surfaces

We have had a very successful appointment at the vet. Germane's allergie symptoms are under control (no open sores from scratching). We are going to continue with the Apoquel under October/November. Her vet tested her eyesight. She's completely blind in her bad eye now, and has some limited vision in her good eye. She can still enjoy her life as a little princess who gets carried over obstacles and set down for the good scents, LOL.
Germane has had her exercise for the day, going to the vet and back, she has had her treat and sleeping happily in the bathroom.

Bama, it's funny how allergies just pop up. I never had them as a child, but something causes my sinuses to flush out once or twice a day. I suspect that it is dust, as I am not a great housekeeper, LOL. I would certainly not suspect your dd of jumping on the bandwagon, as she is 30 years late to be fashionable with that one.

Quick-marched to animal hospital
Successful appointment: renewed Apoquel, checked her vision and eye infection, and our impressive vet was able to get an oral vaccine into her mouth while she was muzzled, checked her weak legs
Leisurely walk home

Doggedly, how old is Gemane now? Extra love and treats from Aunt Bama! All I know is both dds jumped on the bandwagon full force when it comes to stubbornness.

I spent an hour on one bathroom and I’m calling it good enough. Moving on to another room. Need to restock supplies on grocery list first.

Bama, I have a friend who was consuming large amounts of dairy with no problem till well into her thirties - then, one day, she experienced what she though was a stomach bug, another three weeks later, and then the problems would be coming in shorter and shorter intervals till she was unexplainedly miserable pretty much 24/7. Took almost a year till she finally got a diagnosis - very severe lactose intolerance. There was no stress, illness, hormonal change or anything that would explain why it happened, but it did.

If your DD does not react to butter, but does react to milk, it's intolerance - if butter's problem too, it's allergy (basically, allergy is to the milk protein, and intolerance is to the milk sugar)
