Sit to stand 5 repetitions ( I've further reduced to 5 repetitions on advice from a friend who knows about these things, as my back / hip is still painful-) I managed this yesterday: 25 hearts

December H&F habit focus =
Circle walk goal is 10 laps a day, currently averaging 10 laps

Fasting goal is 14+ hours a day, currently averaging 16:11 hours.

It is the last day of 2025 so I want to continue with my analysis of H&F habits and decide on what habits are worth keeping for 2026

Weight = 13.6 lbs lost in 2025. There were 5 consecutive months (June - October) that my weight plateaued and stayed at the same weight. This month I lost 3.4 lbs if you take what I weighed this morning and subtract that from what I weighed on December 1st. I prefer to keep my focus on the average weight because there are big swings otherwise. But sometimes it is fun to look at the actual numbers when the swing makes me smile.
2026 - Lose the last 10 lbs to be a couple lbs below my dream weight. Then maintain. I've heard it is harder to maintain than it is to lose weight. I want to lose the weight and find out if that is true.

Moving my body & staying active - I started 2025 with low step counts averaging in 3-4000 steps a day. When I added hourly movement that increased the steps a couple thousand a day. In October i added daily walks outside. I tried various places and times with eventually settling on walking our circle driveway multiple laps a day. It is just dead drop simple to do and I can fit the walks into my day because I can do them one lap at a time (3 minutes) or all 10 laps at once (30 minutes) I am ending the year with an average daily step count of 7102 for this month.
2026 - keep my step count above 7k steps a day

Exercises & stretches - I have gradually added 10 different exercises and stretches to my daily doings in 2025. I want to continue adding to these exercises in 2026.

I had a couple months during 2025 where moving my hip caused pain. At one point I was using a cane to get around because the pain was limiting my ability to walk. Xray & scan showed a bone spur but nothing major. I continued to move, stretch and eventually the pain went away. I am ending the year with being able to do most anything that I want to do without ache or pains. I do not take this for granted and want to keep my body strong and supple.

Tracking and being consistent has been a game changer for me. Posting in H&F has kept me accountable.

WTG with all you've achieved this year, Lady M!

I, too, have fou d postie here keeps me accountable. I still need to work on drinking my water, but I think it's a lot better than if I wasn't tracking it!

A lot of 2025 was taken up with dealing with cat health issues (Freddie, emergency vet in Easter Day for his tummy, monthly injections for his arthritis and regular blood tests, Matilda, emergency vet for her seizure and also cystitis, plus ongoing dental issues -I think she's going to need another scale and polish and possibly more extractions in the spring, and dear Jude just needed her regular weight checks along with her routine care), and helping DH with his new meds and blood pressure issues.

So, in 2026 I'm going to prioritise me and my health. Of course I can't do anything about feline emergencies, but I *can* ensure I take care of me during the year, eating better, prioritising sleep, drinking my water, managing stress and exercising.
