Hi!

I woke up with a clean kitchen. Maybe I should make cookies.

It's cold and overcast here.

I think we are having ribs for supper.

Yesterday was St. Lucia day... I have been loving all the celebrations of light we have during this time of year!
I have to get to work. have a wonderful day

we usually get our tree this last weekend but multiple places were sold out. we went to the one in town and they had 6 trees left - our usual guy we have been using for 22 years was gone already! Thank Goodness dd was here - she carried the tree in and she and dh set it up.
We called dd younger as she was going to be on FaceTime with us when we picked out a tree but this wasn't going to be - lol no trees.
we did get a nice tree though. Lets see how long the needles last lol.
Next year I want to cut one down - even that place closed yesterday - not a lot left - maybe I should grow a bunch in the back of my yard and cut one each year -

dd and I started laughing when we saw the second lot packing up - it's 2020!
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Ah Monday! I stayed up way too late last night reading but I went ahead and set the clock to get up at 8 this a.m. - and I did pretty well. I've walked the dog and did some CUOP-ing and some of a.m. routine. I have our bedsheets in the washer, almost done there and will just get them back on the bed.

Once I finish a.m. routine I'll go upstairs for research and writing today!

I woke up and am D2S before 8am. Maybe I'm catching up on my sleep.

This is the last Monday of the year that we will do Homeschool and Charter School. If DD9 completes all of her assignments for this semester, then she can start Christmas Break. DS12 has 28 Teaching Textbook assignments and 25 IXL assignments to complete before he starts his Christmas break. Both of the kids like knowing exactly what they need to accomplish and are tracking the countdown.

Hoping the countdown goes quickly, Lady M.

Not so here. Dh did do the dishes last night (and dd came in to tell me he said, "Tell your Mom she can feel better now, I did the dishes." Even so the kitchen is not anywhere near clean. DD made Cracker Candy last night and got it broken apart while dsonil was in the shower. It would be gone in little over a day if he knows it's there. He's promised dd he'd go for a physical after the New Year. Can't wait to see what his A1C is. He had diabetes several years ago and beat it. But since then he's been anything but careful about the sweets he eats. He can down a whole bag of caramel chews in an evening -or half a bag of H ershey kisses, etc. We shall see. I might be surprised.

Dh stopped at a P ublix this morning to get pizza dough for sausage bread and to get chicken wings. However they were waiting for the truck to come in with wings, so notta on those. He may go to Auburndale in a while and I'm trying to put together a shopping list. Came across a recipe for sausage soup that I know I've used in the past. Only calls for the sausage, onions, beef broth, stewed tomatoes and elbow macaroni. I'm quite sure we liked it albeit lacking in vegetables. I've almost given up on dsonil liking anything pretty much. Just do our thing I guess. If we're the only ones who like it -we'll eat it.

Feeling much better this morning. Thinking about going shopping with dh but I'll wait until he's actually ready to go and see how I feel.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

I have to lol about the kitchen clean up discussion. Here I feel like it's never ending, considering that I cook almost every p.m. Last night I had a skillet for sautéed mushrooms and another for caramelized onions. I had a bowl for the pizza batter and cutting board for onions and mozzarella cheese. Onion skins on the counter when I peeled them. And then there was the pizza pan. Immersion blender for the chickpea batter. This particular pizza recipe was easier than some I've made - instead of making little pancake pizza crusts individually like pancakes, the batter goes into a pan and is baked, then topped. But it feels like quite a production.

I think one reason I've gone back to the breakfast smoothies is that there's less clean up - the blender and a couple of measuring cups.

Last night before I started the pizza I decided we should just order instead and dh balked. We need to talk about it - I think his objection may be that he doesn't want to out to pick up. He's objected several times lately to ordering out and I need some breaks! (He used to be out two nights a week bowling and then often had night time meetings too, so I had some nights off.)

Anyway, I'm sick of cooking and cleaning the kitchen!

Morning y’all...

Today will be the coldest day of this winter...62* Yippy!!! Slept with the window open last night and never got up during it. My body loves sleeping in the cold!

I stays up with Twins last night with my reading as well. Love that I can do that without having to worry about getting up early to go to work. I am still grateful for that.

I have horses today and it should be interesting today to see how they interact with this cold weather. I will be dressing in layers. The care center is all open so it’s like working the entire time in open air. The wind is t too bad here at home and I hope it isn’t at the care center. It really stirred up the horses last week.

I didn’t mail my package as planned on on Saturday. Couldn’t sue to my migraine. Worked out well because the book I’ve been waiting for came that day. Mailing my packages will be my errand for tomorrow. I’m go at standing in lines :D

My home is in pretty good shape but I still need to really work on my office. It’s really turned into my hotspot. Wasn’t much I could do yesterday... I was extremely tired because of my migraine and the amount of meds I had to take. I was very grumpy towards Sweetie and apologized several times, but he’s good at understanding and thankfully it bothered me more than him. I had to ask him to drive me to Walgreens to pick up my prescriptions yesterday cause I just wasn’t up to it. I don’t feel safe to drive when I’m in recovery mode.

Need to finish a few few things and drink my second cup of coffee. I still have all my vitamins to take. Coffee helps with that.

I normally don’t bake cookies at Cmas, but must admit I have a recipe I really want to try. Years ago a woman died. She was known in her area for the sugar cookies she use to make, but refused to share the recipe. When asked for it she would reply, I’m taking it to my grave. Her kids had a weird sense of humor and had her cookie recipe engraved on her tomb store. I read about the store and wrote down the recipe. Usually I give my cranberry/orange nut bread to my friends for Christmas, but this year I’m gonna make these cookies

Twins...Sweetie is a peach when going out to get something to it... he has been since the day I started living with him. He tells me just say I don’t want to cook and out the door he goes. I did it last Friday night ...
Told him in the morning, He went out to get his dinner and came back empty handed. Said every place he went had cars circling all the fast food places...this has never happened.

So he went into the pantry and grabbed a can of soup. I had chicken in the fridge and suggest he add it to it, which he did. When he finished he took the pot to the table and ate his dinner right from it. Gotta
Love the man!

Off to start my day ...’waving to y’all
