Welcome! Come chat here about everything related to our levels of fitness, our well-being and health concepts in general. As we wrap up another month of fascinating posting and lots of pages, there's quite a few shout-outs! Here are just a few recent impressions:

Nancy just keeps EARNING badges - a 629 day STREAK is happening for her, now.
Ramblin', in meeting some preventative needs - dental, especially - is feeling like her ACTIVE self again. Hmmm... .. learning from that.
LadyM records August SUCCESSES like weight loss, but she scrutinizes to be sure, as she adds daily healthy habits.
Twins' Mom balances recuperation with consistency in being active.

Did Harriet capture that cool new Gold Star symbol from LadyM's posts and add it to our "Symbols" thread in Tips, Hints and How-Tos forum? Would she do a thing like that? Maybe ... ..

I started tracking in July and have gradually tweaked calories and added steps. I have to remind myself to embrace the journey and not get frustrated with the speed of my progress.
July average daily calories 1378 resulted in weight loss of 1.3 lbs for the month.
August average daily calories 1248 resulted in a weight loss of 2.6 lbs for the month.

Sun. Walk done * = pretend gold star could not get that to work for me, got my steps in.
{I have added EOD wall push ups last week.] Walked.
Mon. Walked
Tues. / Rain showers did a walk a bit later. Stormed in the nigh two small branches picked up. Did my wall push ups 25.
Wed. Walked
Thurs. Walked did a mile plus. I need to put when I do wall push ups maybe set days for em like m.w.f. that will be in a bit.

I definitely did not eat healthy yesterday! My girlfriend with the shoulder surgery came down with Covid while doing her dream train trip to British Columbia. Once home she nursed herself back to health and called to ask if I would take her to get ice cream. Couldn’t say no to that. She is a thin as Olive Oil, loves to eat sweets and never gains anything.

Anyway I told her about my once a month treat to have ice cream and she should join me next month. To which she politely reminded me next month started today! Funny girl :D:

Leg is still painful and I am way over it. Gonna go to my class in the morning and see what I can do.

In the meantime I’m back to tracking my water and food.

Enjoy your online class, LadyM. I looked it up and it sounds very interesting, but I don't think I'd have time to add it in. Tomorrow a dr's follow-up appt for one thing. I hope you learn all kinds of stuff.

I watched (mostly listened) to an hour long talk about the mental aspect of taking care of the physical body. It reaffirmed things that I knew but it is easy to forget how important the mental game is.

I ate and stayed around 1000 calories … made sure I got in plenty of protein. Not much walking, however my leg is feeling better though the stitches and area are still pretty red. However it doesn’t hurt as much when I wash and clean it.

Drank 60ozs of water with 10 sips at time. My tummy seems to tolerated it ok.

I had my second procedure for my root canal done this morning so I’ll need to be mindful of how I eat.

⭐ Weights. Day #1 - I am starting to exercise with 1 lb hand weights. I was surprised by the difference even a small weight can make.

⭐ Nutrition 101 class @Cronometer. I am disappointed with this class. I did all the lessons in about 15 minutes. Ohsss well.

⭐ Weights. Day #2 - OUCH! My shoulder muscles are telling me that starting with one-pound weight is plenty. Today I will put one-pound weights on my legs.

⭐ Mentorship with Real Food - Watched video of how to decide what to eat while meeting goals for macronutrients. I learned macronutrients in a previous class from Optimising Nutrition. The Optimising nutrition training was developed by a engineer and is the ultimate (IMHO) training in this subject. However, Optimising Nutrition class is almost overwhelming with the amount of data and facts that are given. Real Food is teaching macronutrients by using real world examples. She goes through the process of preparing a meal, deciding which ingredients to buy and why.
