Gooooood Morning SHE village!
Twins - thank you for starting us this morning.
Frost in June?! Oh my. That is so far out of my experience. The last frost in my little corner of the world is usually between mid March to mid April. I do love hearing about other weather patterns.
Nothing big is on our calendar for today. We will attend evening church in a few hours.
I can't cook like I normally do because we are limping along with refrigerator that doesn't work well. It is currently at 52F inside. I'm okay with some fresh vegetables at that temperature but I don't want to keep other types of food inside it. Only six more days to get through until new refrig is delivered.

We have been to Walmart because dh needed soda and shaving cream.
We talked to his mom on the way home. Dh and his mom talked about their gardens for almost 20 minutes.

Re: Welcome to June PWYC
I was up just before nine. We had a great day at the river yesterday. My back loosened up as the day progressed. We sat on the deck overlooking the river and talked forever, and had a long boat ride up the river and back. We had high clouds from Canadian wildfires apparently but the day was warm and breezy and nice. Back at their condo we ordered dinner from a nearby restaurant and dh and A picked it up. Lovely day and was good for the soul, once the back was looser. Was 8:30 by the time we were home, dh had eaten too much (yes, I could have told him that) so I walked dog when we got home and got in bed and slept well.
This morning, since it's 1 June I went ahead and reconciled the HOA checking account so May work is done ahead of schedule. I have it set up as a Monthly now in Remember the Milk. Once the meeting is over tomorrow night the pressure will be off. Now to play catch up on the cemetery account.
I'm eating my brunch now.

Re: Welcome to June PWYC
Waving hi to y’all …
Not much I can do around my house with everything in disarray. Our meals have been interesting because the only thing I have to cook with is my microwave. I was able to get some salads fresh salads in so we can have whatever I can get ready in the microwave or sandwiches and salad. We’ve gone out to eat so many times I think we should have a rewards card for the fast food place, we love to go to. I like going there because I can get a hamburger without a bun so it fits my way of eating.
I had to postpone my laundry day because of everything going on in the house. So my washer is going and getting ready to flip to the dryer. I still have two more loads to do. The AC man came and fixed our air conditioner yesterday thank goodness it was nothing serious. Just a major inconvenience. Today is a day off no workers here but tomorrow they’re back again to start with a cabinet work and finishing up the sheet rock work.
Sweetie says he’ll be glad when this is over but not as glad as I will. Then the work begins for me. I’ll have to put my house back in order, including my pantry. I am not looking forward to that.

Opportunities Abound!
Various Monthly Threads are popping up (or already ongoing) around the village,
for inspiration,
for encouragement,
recording,
perusing,
pondering,
complaining,
and general "keeping up" with the fact that it is already June and how in the world did that happen.

Harriet - Thank you for creating the monthly threads!
DS16 and GF are attending a gender reveal party this afternoon for a teenage couple they double date with the most. I sure hope DS16 and GF don't follow in this path. Life as a teenager is hard enough without raising a baby too. BTDT but I don't recommend it.
I am enjoying the relaxed summer mode. I love that I have time to think instead of handling constant must-do's all the time.
I cooked breakfast this morning but have no plans for what we will eat the rest of the day. hum......
Decision made - pull chicken tenderloins out of the freezer to thaw/cook, potatoes in the instant pot, green beans. I will cook just enough for one meal and not any extra that would need to be refrigerated.

Re: Welcome to June PWYC
I did some thing new today after pruning a bit to get through the side gate easier.
I fixed up chicken salad with some mushrooms in it I put it inside of a wrap & took
it outside to eat on the deck. Sun came out it was very nice! Yea! Winner of an idea
in more ways than one!
On my walk chatted a bit with a gal that had lost her hubby the same year I lost mine.
We talked about life and replacing stuff gardens yards etc. but neither of us brought up
our LH. Shows that we had both grown and have other things in our life going on now.
Did up the dishes while dinner is in the oven.
