Apologies to those who don't have a holiday weekend going, I think both the U.S. and Canada do so that's what I'm going with. Cathy has a quiet weekend mostly at home going, while I have a social weekend - at least the next two days of it. LadyM is off to the fair this weekend, and Lucylee is celebrating the wins. RR and I will be watching football I think.
What else is going on this weekend? What else can we cram into this long weekend? Enjoy!

Re: Saturday of Holiday Weekend
Morning all. Long weekend. Yup. I gotta remember one more text to finalize ds classes at school. Make double sure he has everything. School starts Tuesday. Gradec10 and turns 16 in November.
Other than that I have to decide when to dig the potatoes at dad's. It has not frozen and I was not expecting bug they are practically shriveled and apparently done. I hope they made something. Do I do it today or maybe dh will come help on Monday. Not sure I want to do them all myself.
Then see what else comes.
Is there a major football weekend? I imagine there will be football at dd and dsil house then too .

Re: Saturday of Holiday Weekend
Thanks for the start Twins.
Waving to Laural. & all who follow.
No specific plans for the weekend but I do want to boil up eggs to devil did not get to that yesterday.
I have not done BWP so that's on my mind.
Doubt there will be any garage sales either.
I should fuel up one of the rigs, & look at supplies for the freezer however....
with 100* temps. on deck for the next week not so interested in cooking or going anywhere.
That might wait.
I need to water the beds in the front yard.
Journal & planning done.
I slept well and was up by 5:15.
Bathrooms & floors & sheets could be done time will tell.
Also some writing and reading.
I had a personal dance party for one here at home last night and that was fun.
Watched 1/2 of a movie on net flex The Thurs. M. Club was good a comedy.
-----
CI ~ did my errands fuel is in the rig that needed it the most.
Got meat for the freezer for my stock up plan, and beverages ahead of the heat next week.
A couple other items.
I did see one yd. sale sign but did not stop as I"d already been to the thrift store this week.
I needed to focus on fueling up early and the store run.
I could go back in the other rig.
I did water the beds in the front after unloading the rig.
Saw quail and deer on my drive.
I need to decide on my bday order got the the gift card last week.

Re: Saturday of Holiday Weekend
Hi LauraLind. It will be a seriously important football weekend here with the Toronto/Hamilton annual Labour Day match. I think a couple of other games will be the same with Monday being something my dh is looking forward to. No particular food or drink is required by him, and nothing special is planned. All that dh requires is for Toronto to win and for Hamilton to suffer badly. We live closer to Hamilton and many people in our area prefer Hamilton, but dh likes who he likes.
I have put out all the garbage and I still have to deal with litter boxes. Dishwasher has done a full load this morning and now the washing machine is doing it's thing. We have also been to the landfill already.

Re: Saturday of Holiday Weekend
Have been busy as a bee with Holiday thread stuff, as (((trissie))) brought happy links, posting in her Holiday thread in Fun and Games. So, we've been able to link to some of CEO's resources, too, in The Creative Home for the first time in a couple years. Yea for that. The info/path had gone dark in our links here, not long after CEO's letter announcing her retirement. Halloween is upcoming (well, the stores think so, anyway, even though the calendar says 8 weeks), and plans are actually starting for multi-month work toward all the winter holidays - is that hard to believe or what.
So far, the printable forms do seem to be available - don't quote me on that, haven't gotten to it all.
edit - I believe all the printables have to be downloaded first rather than just clicked on to print quickly as before.
Nancy, HRH agrees with you that The Thursday M Club (smile) seems good. He's also just started, not gone all the way through, thinking I might watch with him later when we have a stretch of time at the same time. I do love a mystery.
We've also been working on getting the microwave settled in here. Heavier than it looks. Certainly more awkward, but it's done now.

Re: Saturday of Holiday Weekend
Lauralind, I think there was college football last weekend but today seems to be the kickoff for most of our teams. DH's team FL State is playing one of the big SEC teams today at three. Tennessee (RR and me) is playing at noon today. RR also cheers for AL when she's not for TN, because her ds went there. My dkids went to GA Tech and Tennessee at Knoxville. (I went to the local UT system school.)
I've walked the ddog, part of the walk with a good friend neighbor. I'm afraid I vented a little too much about dh. I'm really struggling with this transition.
I need groceries for the sheet cake I'm making tonight so I'm going to the store that's close - not my preferred place but good enough. I know I'll have more things on my list when I start thinking of the cousins being here tomorrow so I'll do a major trip (or ask dh to, or order online) once I have thought that through. One day at a time this weekend. I just don't seem to have the bandwidth to think ahead right now.
Cemetery meeting was good yesterday, The chair did a good job but wasn't comfortable with using Google meet to bring in one guy who was out of town. His colleague tho showed up and got him in quickly on his phone so we were all there.
Heading to grocery first.
----------------------------
Of course, with my ADHD this didn't get posted.
Cake is into oven but I'm feeling bad now that I didn't consider the vegan among us and the diabetic. In this group there is one very strict vegan, one nearly vegan, and two diabetics. But OTOH finding an easy/vegan/diabetic friendly/authentic Polish dessert was a little beyond my bandwidth.

Re: Saturday of Holiday Weekend
I stayed up later than usual last night after hours of socializing at the fair. It took me a couple of hours to relax enough to fall asleep. I made up for the lost rest this morning by sleeping in until after 8 a.m., which is pretty rare for me.
Today is last day of the fair with activities that include tractor pull, cattle show, games & rides, and Indian tacos. One of DD14 classmates will be the headline band. He started playing just a couple of years ago, and his talent and popularity have been steadily growing.
DD14 continues to amaze me with her social interactions. I can't say whether this change means she isn't autistic, as that's for the experts to determine. For now, I'm just enjoying and celebrating her frequent smiles and enthusiasm for activities.
