Happy November, LadyM and everyone!

I did my stretching exercises before even getting out of bed this morning.

Am so interested in the morning routine ideas by Arthur C. Brooks, a Harvard prof, which he's had published in several places lately and has done interviews. He is a firm believer in getting up before it is dawn and having a set routine. Also, in timing any coffee for after you've been up a while, to allow yourself to go ahead and be naturally groggy and get that out of your system. Then the coffee comes when you are ready to become productive, and you are less likely to have a run0down feeling after lunch, when the grogginess catches up with you. Other interesting ideas, too. I want to read more about his thoughts. I am more a tea drinker than coffee drinker, but I'm interested.

bump!

November healthy habit focus for me is developing Pathways. This is a new way (for me) of using SHE cards. I'm not sure how it will turn out because I am letting the paths develop in real life. Some days the cards just flow, and the pathway steps seem easy. Other days it feels like I'm trying to climb a rocky cliff, and the pathway steps are a struggle. HOWEVER, just having a path previously walked with success gives me direction to walk one step at a time on those difficult days. I am trying to trust the process, just follow the paths, and not over think it.

LadyM… since your weight has stalled since June and you keep such great records, can you go back in time and review what you were doing before June when you were being successful?

* No carbs
* No cheats… not one bite of Halloween candy, a first for me
* no sugar
* steps…1530k
* water…64ozs

My Manta… I’m proud of me ..all day long as I stay track on my health journey 🌻

Thank you for the start, Lady M.

Good thoughts, Harriet. I have no routine, no sense of urgency. It’s hard to stick to a routine when “why bother” or “I’ll do it later” enters my head. I’ll have to work on that.

Ramblinrose, those are all great habits to incorporate into your day.

This is the worst part of the year for me regarding habits so posting might not be regular but I’ll try to stick to it as much as possible. Keeping my past habits and adding exercise.

Pelvic exercises
Dremel dog nails
Arm weights
Exercise - can be walk, dance video, stretches, any movement

So thankful for this thread, once again !
In October I wasn't very successful with health habits, probably due to MrNG's training and internship which induced many changes in everyone's schedules, before and after payroll, before and after school. My sense of "discipline" hasn't changed, and it helped managing those changes.
In November I need to be more serious about health habits, and about routines - it shows in how I feel, and it shows in the house, when I'm not serious. No new habit, only maintaining existing ones.

Thank you all for being here, thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience.
Thanks LadyM and kittykatt for answering my question about routines, in October.

As of yesterday night :
Daily floss : x (trip to Paris, forgot my brushes)
Daily pelvic floor habit : ✓
Daily strength training : x (but cardio during travels)
No sugar before 4 pm x ( restaurant in Paris with extended family, I couldn't skip dessert)
No screens after 10 pm
A general sense of discipline :

Morning…

* no carbs
* no cheats
* no sugar… some artifical, working on black coffee
* Steps 10k
* water 64 ozs. Want to up it
* exercise. Especially shoulder strecthes
* vitamins

Wore a pair of pains to the concert last night that I could wear for a while.

Not getting on my scale till Nov 30. Takes the stress out so I can stay focused on the process.

Keep repeating my mantra multipul times a day each time I win a challenge like leaving carb food alone. I do cook pasta, noodles and potatoes for Sweetie nightly and pizza once a week.
