Sunday PWYC Snow edition

Post by Twins' Mom »

It’s snowing in the city! I hope everyone in the village is having fun today. I love seeing the snow, although not so much when it’s messy out.

What have you planned for fun today?

Hi Twines' Mom! Thanks for opening our village today!

We had a snow storm yesterday and we both stayed home all day. No more snow, but today I have a bunch of stuff to do around the house. Litter boxes, bed sheets, helping dh with his shower and having a shower myself. Plus the kitchen is a mess. Dishwasher needs to be emptied so I can refill it.

I don't think dh will complain, but I plan on making spaghetti and meatballs tonight. The meatballs are frozen and they come in a large bag that says "Kirkland".

Dh and I were both up just after 7 and we were both yawning, so I went back to bed and I've been reading ever since. Dh joined me a while later. I did hear snoring, but he said he didn't sleep.

Good morning

Twins - I love hearing about your travels and adventures. Enjoy!

I was focused on a football game last night and didn't post my blessings for yesterday.
Blessings -
** 5th day in a row staying with my eating plan with minimum white-knuckling effort
** Phone call from DGS18 sharing his grade from first semester at university. He took 18 hours and was very happy with grades. He said the hardest part was finding time for everything because pledge fraternity is incredibly demanding.
** DH didn't completely lose his memory. I thought the way DH was roaming that he might experience temporary amnesia again. All seems as good as can be.

3 things for today -
** Find the flosser stash. WHERE did it go? If can't locate then order new flossers and store them to a different location.
** Refresh the guest room and bathroom.
** Check dates on cooking oil. I've had a couple bottles of olive oil in the garage refrigerator for ???? long. I suspect they need to be tossed.

Happening in the kitchen -
** Eggs, bacon, cheese breakfast cupcakes
** Cinnamon rolls (from a can)
** Honey BBQ chicken bites
all this is cooked in air fryer making it quick and easy.
Stay motivated. Success loves persistence.

Weekend - (kind) helper and dd older are going to cook together - dd younger might join. They want to make a Mexican hominy soup.
dd younger is going to help me in the family room.
mom stayed up again all day - two days in a row. it's amazing how getting her out of the house makes her mentally alive - the during the week helper said she was shocked on how that helps mom - she saw it herself for the first time.

I need to start. I have cookie dough chilling and want to make that this morning.

I have decided (for me) and anyone who wants to join in our family- a positivity jar. I love celebrating the little things (notice the small miracles-beauty) and I think, my family, needs the influence of putting the positive on the little things in life. I have to figure out how to do it. I may end up doing our paper chain with the positives we have seen in the year. - we do most christmases with wishes or prayers for family and others.

it was -6 early this morning. fed the birds.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

LadyM…my tree is up but not decorated. My presents are bought but not wrapped and I still need to do some of my Cmas cards. Btw, Sweetie resembles your husband with his wandering.

My poor house is a wreck! Footprints are everywhere and I have a bunch of laundry to fold. Every time I start on something Sweetie needs me to help him with something.

Made my Ed for the first time in three days and the clean dishes have been in the dishwasher for 3 days as well.

The commode was stopped up yesterday and usually Sweetie attends to it. However he’s forgotten how. I treated it with a large dose of dawn and hot water and let it set for a while. Sweetie forgot and used the commode before the dawn worked and it backed up. I found our plunger and went to work and much to my delight it worked. Silly as it sounds I was really proud of myself. Just one more task that has become mine and glad I could do it.

Twins …my brother lives across the bay on the NJ side, and he received 6/7 inches of snow over night. In fact he says he’s still getting snow flakes.

My goals for to day are:
Empty the dish washer
Fold clothes
Wrap my ddil birthday present
Reorganize all the clothes on my closet floor. Dumped a lot of Cmas tops and sweater there
Work on my tree.

We’ll see how far I get. At the moment I needed to find Sweetie and see what he’s up to. Maybe I can give him my swifter and see if he will flea my bathroom floor. Would t that be nice.

LadyM…Sweetie could never figure out how to use my spin mop. I’m just glad he’s figuring out how to shower and dress himself again but he still gets confused when it comes to buckling his pants and putting on his T-shirt 😆

RRose it's so nice to see you! It's nice to see everybody!

I've done 2 litter boxes and finished the book I've been reading. (John Sandford's first Virgil Flowers book. This character is also a cop, and it links to the Lucas Davenport books.) Dh has gotten up twice to go to the bathroom. Now he's back in bed snoring again.

I've been enjoying the peace and quiet. In other words, the TV and/or stereo isn't blaring and dh isn't grumbling about anything.

I've started putting in I'm Proud of as I journal;
My dsis had to share she was so proud got her wood splitter going on her own and
split up her wood. Stacking will be later. But for now she had gotten wood to use
in the current cold snap.! Said she thought of me when I was proud of doing my own mowing
last summer.

One Joy is what I like to put in my journal as well. I can alternate them as prompts too.
Blessed luv that idea! Thanks for the insp.
I know some people go back and look over them at the end of the year.

I've slept in till 8:00 have a bit of the sniffles.
40* / 55* F today's temp. range here.
I've done 3 journal entries. Writing focus today I think.
Bujo
Prayer Journal
Wellness [food & Rx log]

So glad I did a cooking day for my project yesterday and have chicken & veg. cooked up
as well as chicken broth for soup today yea for the win!

It was fun on the walk yesterday to see people putting up holiday decor.
Lite parade was last nite got to see that on FB.
Happy I read the main part of a book yesterday / finished to the question part in the back.
Got to draw in some accents in a diff. journal yesterday thought of Harriet's design ---- I"m doing --- underline and three more --- in mine for
section surrounds.

you should see my kitchen! I look forward to them cleaning up after themselves! Their soup was great - beautiful color - bright green - hominy, tomatillos, different roast peppers, etc. they were going to put a habanera in but I convinced them to put it on the side - they are glad that they did - I also convinced them to taste other peppers with seeds - they were glad that they did. ;)
They didn't notice me giving them some suggestions or checking the roasting of the tomatillos or poblano's under the broiler. - glad I did.
after they were done they were so proud of themselves!

I swear that kitchen went kaplooey!

my cookies - yesterday I made a mistake about the amounts of flour bc I had a measuring one cup and a measuring 1-1/2 cup - I couldnt' figure out what I did.
I have to cook it longer.

hello d Nancy - so proud of you and your journal!!! yay for your d sis!!!
I love that you write down your joys!
hope your sniffles go away
yay on cooking
I haven't gone out to see the lights - thank you for the reminder

hi d cathy yay on your work!!!! yay on finishing your book! enjoy the peace and quiet

hi d rose - so good to see you!!!
yay on getting your tree up
yay on buying some presents
your d brother and all that snow- hope it cleans up fast
cheering you through your goals

hi d harriet!

hi d Lucy

hi d everyone!!!

mom is having fun with dd's and helper - dd older said "can you make me a skirt?" mom: "I am not making you anything! (smiled at dd) - then dd said can you help me to make my own skirt - mom said sure!

now to make more cookies and freeze the remainder or give to neighbors
it is always a joy to be here with you!
