Tommy and Tuppence are two fictional detectives, recurring characters in the work of Agatha Christie. Their full names are Thomas Beresford and his wife Prudence (née Cowley). Tommy and Tuppence first appeared in Christie's The Secret Adversary (1922). They started out their career in search of adventure and money, and the detecting life soon proved profitable and very exciting.

Tuppence appears as a charismatic, impulsive, and intuitive person while Tommy is less imaginative and less likely to be diverted from the truth (as their first adversary sums him up: "he is not clever, but it is hard to blind his eyes to the facts") which is why they are shown to make a good team. It is in the first book The Secret Adversary that they meet up after the war (World War I), and come to realise that, although they have been friends for most of their lives, they have now fallen in love with each other.

Unlike many other recurring detective characters, including the better known Christie detectives, Tommy and Tuppence aged in time with the real world, being in their early twenties in The Secret Adversary and in their seventies in Postern of Fate. In their early appearances, they are portrayed as typical young people of the 1920s, and the stories and settings have a more pronounced period-specific flavor than other stories featuring more popular Christie characters. As they age, they are revealed to have raised three children – twins Deborah and Derek and an adopted daughter, Betty. Throughout the series they employ a man named Albert, who first appears as a lift boy who helps them in The Secret Adversary, their hapless assistant at a private detective agency in Partners in Crime, and subsequently, as a now married pub owner, renders vital assistance to the pair in N or M?. By Postern of Fate he has become the Beresfords' butler and has now been widowed. In Postern of Fate the Beresfords also own a small dog named Hannibal.

To say he his "non compliant" is a big understatement!!!)

Happy Epiphany to all!

kittykatt, how kind of your DH to make sure you will be safe on the ice road today!

We have some serious cold weather too. Anyway, at least for us - it was -11C this morning. Of course, and this is the morning when the first bus was too crowded to get on and I had to wait for another one, so I was standing out there in the freezing weather for 10 minutes. So glad to have a white collar indoor job, I really wouldn't do well working outside!
It's a crazy busy day, again. I need to drive the kids for an optometry apt at 4pm, an hour from home, so I need to leave work about 30 minutes early to get home, load everybody, and drive off, and we aren't likely to get home before 6pm. My list is basically a rinse and repeat of yesterday, which is a bit sad, because I really felt like making progress - but I guess that's because it's the dailies that make the most difference and yet they need to be done over and over and over again!

TaDas
- morning madness
- snacks for all kids
- at work early

ToDos
- deal with backlog of emails
- F&P report 2025
- work plan of action for January / this week

Braindump
- morning routine
- midday routine
- afternoon routine
- evening routine
- dinner
- menus
- 4pm dr apt
- 2nd load of ski/winter attire from cottage
- fold load from dryer
- ironing
- clean master bedroom
- clean DS14's room
- at least 10 minutes in DBD's room
- one leftover holiday cleaning task
- homework / backpacks with kids
- DBD's speech therapy
- pay therapy bill

◕‿◕ * * * Good Morning! * * * ◕‿◕

Trissie, thanks for the start, I love the week's theme ! Sorry your day is too busy to allow you to see progress. Wtg if you manage to get the dailies done !

Kitty, have a good vet appt (I hope)

Snow and ice here too. We all left work early yesterday when it started snowing : our area is not adapted to snow ! I drove slowly and it went well. This morning not many people could drive to work. I took the large roads so I was fine most of the way, and very careful on the last kilometer. School is closed, well, one teacher could make it, some kids came in. MrNG didn't want to add 2 gremlins to the little crowd so he took them back home. Not sure howhe can get any work done this morning...

TADAs
Up, usual rush
Long time defreezing car and commuting
Start of payroll day routine

TODOs
Payroll day
Commute back
After-work usual rush

Good morning, FFB! Sorry the weather is so disruptive -11C is cold! I hope the appointments for the boys go smoothly.ost of of city schools are open (except the one with broken heating  ) but a lot of the rural schools are closed, due to the ice, and also some snow.

Freddie's appointment was uneventful. Our road was very icy, so I was very glad of DH taking over the driving, but the main roads were ok. Also, the car park at the vets had been gritted, which made everything a lot easier. Fred was subdued in the waiting room (possibly as DH was there?) but made up for it in the consulting room, when he gave the vet some spectacular snarls! We're all back safely, DH was in time for almost all of his morning teams call, so that was good too.

Ive also had a chat with DH about organising some of his stuff. He raised the subject this morning, but what he didn't know was that I'd already been thinking about this in advance! So, I was able to give him some suggestions as if they were off the top of my head, but actually I'd thought through them already.

Having coffee now, then I need to start some housework. I don't think I'll be going out again today, even though it looks very pretty out there now the sun is out.

Good morning and thanks for the start!
Best of luck at the vet Kittykatt
trissie - those are the kind of days when we just put one foot ahead of the other...
FFly I bet the kids are excited about snow day!

It looks like I need to call the vet as well... It was not my plan for today. I've been watching ddog's eye for a couple of days... I'm pretty sure it's an infection. Not terrible but I think she needs meds.
So:

call for appt.
D2S
feed pup

meds/supplements for me
PUPAS main
lol (did not make much progress yesterday)
