Poirot's secretary, Miss Felicity Lemon, has few human weaknesses. The only mistakes she makes within the series are a typing error during the events of Hickory Dickory Dock and the mistake in mailing an electricity bill, although she was worried about strange events surrounding her sister at the time. Poirot described her as being "'Unbelievably ugly and incredibly efficient. Anything that she mentioned as worth consideration usually was worth consideration'.

She grew up in Croydon Heath. (The Mystery of the Spanish Chest) Miss Lemon has a sister, Mrs Hubbard, who is a warden at a student hostel on Hickory Road. (Hickory Dickory Dock)

She is an expert on nearly everything and plans to create the perfect filing system. She also worked for the government agent-turned-philanthropist, Parker Pyne. Whether this was during one of Poirot’s numerous retirements or before she entered his employment is unknown.

Good morning, Trissie and thank you for starting us off. I've always had a soft spot for Miss Lemon in the ITV series, with her amazing wardrobe. She's also a cat lover, as in her appearance in The Big Four ( when Hercule Poirot fakes his own death), she has a cat called Marina.

I need to be up and out early again, as I have an 8.30 hygienist appointment, followed by a hair cut. At least I have 30 minutes between the two, so plenty of time to walk to the hairdresser's within feeling rushed. Currently we have the very edge of storm gorretii (what is this current obsession with naming storms? ) so it's wet and windy out, but nothing as bad as in some other parts of the country, and, best of all, no ice!

So, Friday at last! I was able to push my alarm to 6am, which is a luxury See? I can start with something happy! And of course I am thrilled to work from home today, and I will finally get my hands on some breadbaking which has not happened since probably November (the breadstarter did survive, though probably barely And it's snowing, which a) is pretty and b) makes me appreciate not having to drive anywhere today even more!

I had a happy day on Thursday: I drove to nearby town where there is a wonderful florist. She made 2 arrangements for me: 1 ror the K table, in a snowman mug, and the other in a nice bowl that I have, of course bigger, for the dining room table. I have a table cloth on the DR table, and a runner + placemat on the K table.
DfBS asked me to please drive her car to the florist, so the battery would get its charge from use. The dashboard announced that both the fuel and tire pressure were low, so before I could go out of town, I had to fill with gas and get air into the tires. I had thought perhaps a car wash, but there was a long line waiting to get into the automatic wash.

I had over an hour conversation with my internet company, trying to get the automatic payment system to work. It took a visit to the bank yesterday, a call to the internet today, then another call to the bank, then another call to the internet company, where I was transferred twice before they sent me to a supervisor. Tomorrow I am supposed to call the bank to make sure the payment went through. (The internet company was at fault, the bank said they had never received a request for payment, so of course they couldn't decline it). The final supervisor said she would give my account a credit acknowledging the inconvenience, and recognizing that it wasn't my fault.

Recognizing that I have been filing 2025 stuff, and soon there will be New Year things to file, I moved into my office, and dumped EVERYTHING that was on top of my desk into (2) boxes, then started to sort. I have 20 pens to take to my grocery store that has a counter where I can put them with a sign saying, I have tested these. they all work. Please take what you need! I did this once before, and they disappeared quickly. Great! I still have plenty - this at least is a start.
And other things are sorted as well. There are a few things left, but I am yawning, and wishing I could close my eyes, so what is left in the one box is going to stay there until morning. And the correspondence I need to do also will wait until morning. It's nearly 2am. And I have discovered that I have eliminated enough "stuff" that I can even close my desk. (It's a small desk with a hinged piece of wood that makes the desk surface when open.

Friday at payroll. Boss is giving me things to do that I'm not interested in. But at least I'll learn new things. It's a busy part of the year, accounting wise and tax wise.

Today: I'm going to pop in at work to check the exams for the GGT project. Then, I might be meeting the girls at the gym at 10? I haven't confirmed this. I hope to finish things I didn't finish earlier - clean sheets on multiple beds, decluttering my mom's knick knacks, looking into an appointment with the foot dr. Perhaps, emailing the lawyer since the trustee has gone radio-silent. I should also go buy new running shoes but not sure I'll get to this. I have to go downtown; payroll is close to downtown but I'm not sure if I'll need to leave straight from payroll to meet the girls at the gym.
