Thursday PWYC - Halfway Through January!

Post by Twins' Mom »

Today marks the halfway point of January! How are we doing on those goals, habits, routines?

Give yourself time today to assess what's working, what's not, and adjust your sails (metaphorically :D ) as needed!

Thank you for starting us off today Twins" Mom!!

It started snowing here last night during Wheel of Fortune and it's still snowing. Teeny tiny little flakes, thankfully it's a powder-y snow and not packing snow. Dh had his coffee and we got right out there and started clearing the patio and driveway. The road hasn't even been plowed yet but the recycling truck and the compost/garbage truck have both been by already. We will put our recycling out next week.

Now we have both had a cup of hot chocolate. Dh is going to lay down for a bit. I might join him.

Good morning!

Today is appointment #7 of the week. This week has 8 medical appointments, and so does next week! Sixteen appointments in 10 days has just about reached my limit. None of these 16 appointments are for me, but I have to attend every single one. I even asked if Mr. 6'4", who looks like a full-grown man, could go on his own, but was told no—he’s a minor.

DD14 bedroom & bathroom are completed on her side of this swap. She is BEYOND thrilled which makes all this extra work worth it. I have moved my stuff into the bathroom that I will be using now. It is also the bathroom that visitors use so the counters need to be kept clear and nothing left out that I don't want seen. I haven't moved all the quilting/music/tables stuff into DD14 previous bedroom yet. I just need a couple hours available to make it happen but all these *#(&%&( medical appointments are seriously messing with my time. OHs, well.

LadyM, I feel for you with all those appointments. It makes me crazy!

I'm enjoying the quiet here. Two workouts this week, dh back out in the evening bowling.

Dcleaning lady will be here soon - she had a dr appointment later in the day so is coming later than usual. I've walked the dog and it is COLD here. Twenty-eight degrees feels like 19, and a chance of snow showers but no accumulation.

I have the bank deposit ready for later and have pulled a couple of things out of the garage. For one, all the papers went into the shred bin, and the filing thing for those papers will be donated. And I'm going by the temple this afternoon after my workout to pick up cemetery paperwork, so I'll return some very old temple minutes to the office too. I think at one time I was to digitize them, but never did.

We're having a snow day here. Our snow started a little before 4 pm and continues. Pretty much all the schools, including DH's, and some of the colleges, including DC's, have called the day off. DH has to "work from home" -- with faculty off, there's little reason for the staff, or at least DH, to come in. Any interactions he might have had with faculty just went poof, and most of the rest can be done on his computer. Most of it seems to be checking for email in case there's something he needs to do.

So, since we have nowhere to go -- got a text from the hairdresser asking if I wanted to cancel, and I jumped on that (fortunately for her, she lives mere blocks from her salon) -- I slept in. I even set up my cards for the day while I was in bed. With no driving, though, I'm almost caught up from the late start.

I will have to drive tomorrow -- DC needs to go in and take a test or two. They have it set up so you can do it online from home, but it means downloading some spyware that they'd rather not. Apparently, even if they deleted it after the test, parts of it would linger. They'd rather go in to the testing center and be monitored by actual human beings they can see. Today's snow is supposed to be less than yesterday's, so everything should be plowed by then.

Well, Twins, sticking to my cards and prioritized brain dump list does seem to be working, although I'm not making progress as fast as I'd like. Glad you have some quiet. Stay warm on your errands!

A cup of hot chocolate sounds like just the thing, Cathy -- or maybe a cup of tea. We still have a gift basket we haven't tucked into, and there's a madeleine in there that's calling my name.

Sorry you have so many appointments, LadyM. I hope the driving weather stays good. I'm so glad your DD's switchover went well!

Since I am sticking to my cards, next I will fold the stuff I left in the dryer last night, move into the dryer the stuff DH threw into the washer last night, and then start a new wash. I should get that done before lunch -- I might even have a little time to goof off.

Even though dh plowed the driveway and I shoveled some of the patio, we decided to call and cancel the PSW for today because it's still snowing and our road still isn't plowed. Lots of local businesses are posting that they are closed on FBook. There is even a major highway closed in Toronto. Someone posted a picture from their condo showing this highway with no vehicles on it. Another site posted that there are too many accidents to post them all.

I’m with yall with Dr appointments. I have more Dr and medical tests this month than I base during the entire past year. This morning was my lab test

My care helped is working out great. We get along and have many same interests. Sweetie really likes her and I like how she interacts with him

Right know I have her coming twice a week for 3 hours, but plan to expand her time to 4.

Today is laundry day and my washers and dryer are doing this thing. It’s raining and the temps expect to drop tonight down tothe 30’s.

Dryer is beeping…. BBL
