Can you believe it's the end of February? Tomorrow is March, and in a week the time will be changing to daylight savings.
Are there things you need to do to say goodbye to February? Tasks to think ahead for March? Thinking of Spring?
It's all here, time moves on doesn't it?

Re: Say Goodbye to February - Saturday PWYC
no, I can't believe it but I am ready for it.
thank you d twins for starting us today!
I hope you have a lovely day!!!
I am ready to say goodbye to February; in a good and healthy way!
in a week or two we should start seeing the Herron and Cranes come back -I love that time of year! You can hear their calls high on the wind. I love looking up and you can see little dots in the sky - great big swatches of birds moving in and out across the sky. it's beautiful! I can't wait to hear that again.
Today would have been my mom and dad's 67 anniversary. I always send her flowers but forgot to this year as she is living with us.
dd older is in Florida with dd younger until tomorrow.
Last night was hard - mom held onto all the walls and door ways as we went to get her ready for the evening. I was exhausted and ready for bed but she did not want to watch tv in her room or leave the kitchen table. She said she could do it herself. I tried to get her up with dh and she said no. I ended up sitting with her in her room and after an hour she came back mentally and was able to decide to get up. no push just letting her frustration relax. I can't reason with the dementia - I can suggest - I ask for her help but if she was not going to move-she is not going to move. I think it is hard bc I am her daughter.
this morning I gave her water and asked if she wanted to get up - she said she could do it herself.
I have a helper this morning and the rest of the day it is mom and I - keeping my fingers crossed that mom goes to bed at a reasonable time. routines!
feeling very lucky - praying for the helper we have today and husband/family- her husband had a bad seizure this morning. It hadn't happened for 7 years. I told her she could go home but she wants to stay.

Hi!
It's cold and sunny. I am so happy that February is done! Now the temps are staying closer to 32F.
Dh and I watched Boston Blue last night and then I went to bed and slept all night.
No plans for today.

Mornin' is frosty here today 33* / 55* today's temp range.
Lucy L. I did not have ins. cover my roof either I was glad the plywood under the shingles was still good yea for that.
I think it's called sub roofing. Also my deck was crumbling from age SO glad for the new one I did at the same time.
I live hearing about your SS group.
I taught a life group on getting a household note book through church once.
It fizzled after 3 weeks but the gals 3-4 did set up note books and used the system
I think it was based on the first book Flylady had our. As I use using that at the time.
I slept in till 7:30
Took bs & Rx.
Changed sheets the other are washing now.
I'm sniffly today and it's been a rough start.
I needed to be moving to clear out my head so did sheets as I was waking up
and sipped coffee between layers! LOL!
Forgot my phone for counting steps drat; sigh oh well I'll have to do extra trips down stairs to change em and
the duds.
I'll be setting up a green note book for my journal pages;
the other one is full after today. I had to ration pages lol!

Re: Say Goodbye to February - Saturday PWYC
Good morning! (as I roll in here at the crack of noon as usual)(Hmm... why is it "the crack of dawn"? why does dawn "break"? There's a rabbit hole I'm not going down right now.)
I'm ready for it to be March in that I'm ready for winter to be over, but I'm not ready for so much of the year to be past. I feel like I've gotten nothing done. It's not true; when I look at all the things crossed off on my master list, I can see that I've done a lot -- it's just that that's the only place I can see it. We are back to eating at the dinner table -- and therefore eating earlier, so we can be done before Jeopardy, instead of having dinner during it (7:30 pm
around here!). But it feels no closer to being able to have people over. Baby steps, baby steps.
The tooth extraction went well; I'm a little sore today, but that's it. I am on antibiotics for a week and a little worried about that. I had a big bowl of yogurt with breakfast, but I need to get some more.
I rewrote my priority list last night, but I haven't prioritized it yet. (In that case, can I really say I've written it yet?) I am hoping that after lunch, I can get the offspring to work with me in the playroom -- it's been a while.
blessed, we have herons around here but not cranes. Do the cranes' legs trail when they fly the way herons' legs do?
Going to have that lunch now, though I don't know what it will be.

Re: Say Goodbye to February - Saturday PWYC
Today I found my class program for when we graduated.
I cannot take pic & up load it b/c it's side ways.
Shared it in a post on the hs group for my class wondering if they want need it.
If I can be tech savvy enough to figure out how to do a file of it, maybe I could type that info.
any thoughts on it? would you like that if you had a reunion 55+ next yr.
So I have a yr. to figure it out LOL!
For now I'm creating a file & typing up a doc.
OKay I'be pasted to a read only document and I got code / not what to do?
Okay got words on it.
sigh now I need to proof read and do some corrections.
No classmates have e-mail posted to sent it to so ... thinking what's next.
Learning as I go lol!
Found a work around. Yea!
I put that info. in the J & C thread.
Cool more success found a class pic. in my yt pics. and was able to post that in the group previously mentioned!

Re: Say Goodbye to February - Saturday PWYC
I don't think my bread will turn out today - I think it may be too dry. I thought it was ok but now rethinking what I see may be a problem.
that happens - I am still learning.
made 2 pie crusts
sautéed onions for tonight.
made apple sauce with older apples
dw is on
showed mom all the seeds we have -
no to clean up the kitchen while adding exercise's in.
mom is very off today. I don't know why. I think her a fib is going to start again.
helper went home to check on her dh and make dinner for her family - she will be back in about 3 hours.
I need to play with the dogs again but we had one of the other neighbors dog visiting us. I love him but one of our dogs hates any dog who comes on our property - I never had that before with any dog we have had.
ate soup from freezer. it is nice to have!
I feel like going through a craft rabbit hole
hi d Nancy how cool to find that class program!
you have been very busy today! I love seeing what you are learning
hi d mystery good morning you are doing great!
glad your tooth removal went well!!!
yes their legs trail! One of my ankle breaks was with 2 cranes - I was in the middle of a big grass field at a forest area. My Gracie was way back in the field, our puppy was next to me. As I was walking I heard that crane noise and two cranes popped up almost two feet away from me - beaks to face lol, Gracie must have seen the cranes and ran as fast as she could to get the cranes. it happened so fast and Gracie took me out from my left side where I fell, full weight, on my ankle. I had to crawl with Gracie and puppy through the fields to the stone road. For a long time no one saw me so I crawled the main entrance. The Forest ranger stopped by to see our puppy lol - I think he saw that I had fallen and could not get up lol. I had to call dh who struggled to find me. Then I had an ambulance pick me up. I ended up having surgery soon after.
(kind of a funny story - what were the chances that I would be so close to cranes and be the bowling pin ( a large one) for one of my dogs.

Blessed - WOW! What a experience with cranes & puppies. You are one strong lady to be able to crawl through field with broken ankle. That is definitely a moment in time that will be remembered!
I'm having another good day with time just seem to be flying by. Just taking care of my daily doings and keeping up with DH and the teens seem to take most of my time. We have two extra people here today working in our shop. I took DH for a quick trip to next town small grocery store for a few things. I stopped by the deli and picked up several things to add to our buffet ready-to-eat tub in the refrigerator - fried chicken, potato logs, mac and cheese, cinnamon cooked apples, cubed cantaloupe, banana pudding and pistachio pudding. The food get eaten so quickly that sometimes I need to get some help with keeping it stocked.
Two new vegetables popped through the soil for the first time in the 2026 garden today. Radishes and potatoes are now showing their sprouting green leaves. I harvested 11 purple asparagus spears today which are super tender and tasty. I've been raking the area under the trees in the front yard and gathering the tiny branches and twigs to burn in the garden firepit. I suppose some would say this is "busy work" since I could use the riding mower to chop up those small wood branches. However, it brings me joy to be busy outside and there something calming about raking an area .......plus I use the ashes in the garden beds. To summarize...Front yard spiffed....me breathing fresh air, getting plenty of sunshine, exercising all parts of my body outside doing manual labor that doesn't feel like work or exercise.......freshly created chemical free potash. I consider it a WIN-WIN-WIN
