Gardening to me is as essential as the air that I breathe.

Inspired as spring arrives this year.
daffs. tulips violets and more are blooming.
I have some ideas and garden goals some old roses past their prime
need to come out, also some iris beds need helps and some of those
to come out. I'll be working a few times a week on this.

I do the zone thing N.S.E.W in the beds and will be working round the beds and fence lines.
Lots to pay attn. to but can count as exercise and stretching, exercise and fresh air.

New plants next month after the last frost date, in the mean while I can take out the
above mentioned items and dead head and clean out more beds.

Getting inspired and more learning!

Today I watched and doing some knitting got my garden planner out.
Jotted down the progress I did and ideas on a note card for other plants I'm considering.
Had to turn off that as I cannot just watch that gardening show all day lol!
Got the rose dug out and pruned the other three in the current zone I'm doing this week.

Spring is a lovely time of year, isn't it, Nancy!
I also have daffodils, tulips, pansies, periwinkle and violets and hellebores, oh, and primroses too. And the lovely tender shades of green from all the new leaves. The snowdrops are over, and my garden is waking up:

I have gotten outside a shower clouds today make me glad for my EOD plan every other day.
I did sort out the branches from the leaves and used the roof in the plant cage for that.
Happy to have today's mission accomplished! Yea!

Might be a good day to look at the garden center.
Used pliers to get seed pods opened up from the roses
it was very efficient!

Got seeds today; had to research before getting plants to know if they would grow here.
Hydrangea is a yes.
So glad seed packet have when to plant em on the back!

Got ones I've not tried before m passion flower & Malva.
and a butterfly mix.

Got the last two branches cut up and in the can to be hauled off next week yea!!!
Raining this evening not to worry I got out my gardening books!

I looked over my garden planner for the last few years this morning.
Looked up a plant from a bulb pink or red Peony! Not up yet.
Mine are a deep burgundy color.

I dug up onions and put them in 9 empty planters, I have not done half of them yet so...
I got them watered and moved.

Pruned the 3 roses in the next bed & raked them up. One can is nearly full, plus a pile.

I did some cleaning on the outdoor kitchen, and got out the patio furniture out and the
cushions and got my 10K steps in today.

Gals gathering here Sun. fire pit fun bring a sack lunch, it's later b/c some have commitments
and I need to eat at noon or before gotten some positive responses.

Glad I got that stuff out of the shed yea!

Got mower fuel yesterday. Mower would not start. Dang!

How green and lush, Kittykatt. You must enjoy your space so much. When you take that photo, are you at a door of your home?

Nancy, so sorry your mower wouldn't cooperate. I think your passionflower will be easy to grow, not because I have ever tried it but because I had a beautiful vine of it here when dneighbor had planted, birds eaten, and then sung their song here, leaving behind the fertilized seed. (smile - worked out great for me)

I do not know if our local favorite old nursery is going to have annuals this year. I guess there has been a finish of the sale of the property to the developer, although I don't know whether there is an arrangement to allow them to have a normal spring selling at all. Their website does not address it - from there it looks as though nothing is happening. Their hours seem to be the same, so I'm going to tell dd27, let's go and hope for the best. If it's a disappointment, we can console ourselves by going a few more towns over, to a chain store.

Now, about the work (smile). I need to ask ds or some of these older grands for some help, probably.

I hope you have a successful shopping trip for those annuals, Harriet. Yes, you're right - I stand just outside the patio doors to take the photos.

Yesterday I moved all the pots that had gone over to the back steps, and then spread the pots of pansies along the fence. I've also ordered a miniature rose for the patio, to replace the rose that isn't doing well.

Dson came and got my mower and got it going for me;
changed the oil, spark plug and air filter.
Cleaned it off.
I'm excited I can mow after the grass dries off this week after the rain today.

Passion flower is iffy in my zone I think but I will try it dsis in ark. said they do not like to be moved there.

I have a card made out for the mower tune up and parts # info.
Sun. pm. on Psalm sun was not a good time slot for girls gathering.

I am glad garden prep. is done except getting out hoses do not need em yet as
some rain happened.
