Saturday Sunrise

Post by Kathryn-in-Canada »

We are looking at a beautiful dawn over the airport runways. Kind of takes one's breath away. And stresses how this is a new day and anything is possible.

At airport in the lounge. Have just finished breakfast and it is time to move to the gate.

I'm a bit calmer now but still not happy with me. Hope this cruise will help mend my broken self-perception.

======

At gate now and there is a delay. We have three hours in Toronto so no biggie.

Good Morning!

I'm excited for Kathryn as she starts this trip.

I've been up a couple hours and mostly on schedule. Repetition does help get things done in a timely manner. These cards are only noticed if I stop doing them.

This afternoon is a double birthday party for DNephews. I have their gifts wrapped and ready so it is just a matter of showing up at the right time and place. LO will enjoy the time with his many cousins near his age.

Cards due today = 53
# Cards completed = 44
% Cards completed = 45%
Papers processed = 0
Healthy Habits completed = 22%

Wondering if Kathryn and Ken are on their way

Good start OKay.

I ort be sleeping. still need do a few things.
I pulled out my ancient wading pool - it ooses water. lay and splashed in it a bit. it was wet in there at least.
found outdoor tap leaks from wrong places when turned on .
walked ddog after 10pm tonight.
house has moved some more and I have huge problems latching / locking front door.
Its after midnight and still is 31c in the house. After its hi of 44c - 111.2f. My house is hotter than the designated temp for the town - which is registered out of town on a hill. Officially the temp was 41c.
I don't know how the desert folk deal with these temps and get anything done.
I have made a mess dragging things out to get wading pool etc. took blanket and towel down under the trees today - its cooler there than in the house.
I need go do stuff.
good night
Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.

Good Night Lynlee, hope you can stay cool.

Good Morning to others.

Another sunny but cold day for us.

Three more mornings to get up and then it will be the day of surgery. My arm bothers me so much, I will be so glad to get started on the other side of this. Washed my hands at work and reached up to the soap dispenser with my left hand and the sharp pain struck me. It is getting so I do less and less with it because the pain strikes.

Going to help Dbrother and then get ready for work.

Great day to all!

hen chores Done
laundry started
breakfast done
I watched YouTube of Peter Walsh's 31 day decluttering challenge yesterday & got a lot of ideas for new cards written in my journal; about 20 of them not the full 31 ideas, helpful for me with mojo. 10 minutes is easy only took 3 minutes to do some yea!

Have fun Kathryn! Waving to every one else.

I'm in the Toronto lounge now. Getting through immigration was painfully slow. Got in the queue and there were 5 people in front of me. 15 minutes later, there were 8 because I kept letting people with earlier flights go past me (I had 3 hours, they had 45 minutes.)

Dh had to wait for our bags to be scanned and indication that they were in the building to appear on a monitor so I was well ahead of him but then he leapfrogged over me because of NEXUS. At that point he waited instead of going through security because he figured I'd miss that there was a business class line (he was right, I would have missed it.) Because of that, I noted the people I had let in front of me were still in the line for security after I got through. Hope they made their plane.

Our first flight was delayed due to the cold and then deicing. This second flight is also delayed but that suits me since they'll serve lunch in the lounge. I'm off to get something healthy off the breakfast service (probably fruit) and then will check out their soup and veggies after that comes out.

Wow, Lynlee, 111 degrees. And then I did the calculations and saw that even that new reading later was over 105. In your house 88 when you posted. Oh, I hope that at least the relative coolness of 88 after 111 will allow you to rest and sleep. I know the puppy is miserable. Here we talk about "the dog days of summer" in July and August and for you, January and February I am thinking. This sort of thing, you already know I'm sure, will make doors stick. So it could be door is seeming worse because of time of year. Hoping that was the worst of it for your area. We here in my area expect one more intense round of extremes Monday-Tuesday and then blessedly an easier spate for a while. Hope your side of the world gets that message to let go of extremes a little! Of course, once we had 12 inches of snow March 13, so anything can happen.

Good job on offering bits of help to others, Kathryn. Smart of dh to see to it you didn't miss the other line.

After another morning of Desk Day, I have made another day's trip to our cold blustery mailbox with a bunch of mail. January is always a big mail month and big Desk Day pain, but I believe this one will go down in history as the most work EVER.

Kathryn, I hope you have a lovely trip and come back refreshed and renewed.

Sadie, is your surgery this coming Tuesday?

Lynlee, you are really warm. I am in hoodie sweatshirt and corduroy pants. It is 71° in here and 61° outside, and I know that sounds warm to most of you (but not to Lynlee right now) but we aren't used to these temperatures and I'm cold. DH got a bin of kindling from around the trees and a stack of logs out on the back porch. One day soon we will have a fire in the fireplace if this keeps up.

Harriet, BWTG getting all the desk chores done. OnMM becomes OffMM, right?!

OKay, have a nice visit with family today.

Quiet and slow here. I am kinda down. Know some of it has to be the several days of grey skies. I stood outside on the front porch for a bit and that helped, because it is brighter out there than inside. I can really feel my "sad" kick in and usually it's not a problem because we have so much sun.

Also bothered because I got a disturbing kinda mean email from a friend last night. I emailed her back with my kind explanation of what I'd said... and really trying to let that all go....she's just in a sad place right now and extra super sensitive. I've printed it all out and let DH read it, because he bumps into that person also, and talking about it hasn't helped.

Just puttering around. I might get all my stuff out and start organizing pictures. That something I've been meaning to do for a year.

(Harmony) It is good that you recognize your friend is in a sad place.

I have separated some of the hens they are still sorting out the new flock dynamic.

I have switched the laundry and have sewn up some fabric bags to searate the strings of lights, a 2 for 1 goal whittling down the last of he fabric stash and putting away the lights giving me a great sense of accomplishment as I did that yea!
Laundry room is looking better now too!

Dishes are loaded bed is made.
