I totally fell off the wagon today in tending to my business. When I met with rabbi I brought up a couple of issues that really seemed to rub him the wrong way and even hurt his feelings. Brought the issue I had asked about in Members only awhile back regarding funerals again, using the funeral earlier this week as a starting point. Anyway, I came home feeling like something of a heel. I didn't talk to secretary, she had a vendor upstairs re: getting internet cable to upstairs for streaming which was one of the issues we were dealing with yesterday.

Harriet, yes, her communications with leadership and members are often unclear and grammatically incorrect. One of my goals has been to increase the professionalism of the temple office but it's sooooo hard.

Ta da: mothers meds refill called to local CVS pharmacy so we can p/u there.

Oooooh, I don't know what to do first....

-call dh back re: dd's tax return for last year, scan and email copy to him?
-clear kitchen counters
-walk the ddogs
-call federation re: picking up meals for dmom
-clear kitchen table and breakfast bar

Bookie, I've been there with the Facebook issues for a group. A member set up a temple group at one point that is still out there - we had to set up a new group but his still hangs around confusing us all....

So proud of BookSaver for keeping her private online things private. That was not a reasonable request. You did the best you could, and frankly I hope for your sake that the other lady's page turns out wonderfully.

helia, Mr. Emptynester had a procedure at hospital, was to stay a night. Emptynester took a hotel room for that night for convenience.

((Twins' Mom)), hope it didn't hurt his feelings. But just think how much easier for him to have meetings with you, than if another person were in your position. Attention to grammar has to be constant for a secretary. Everyone can't be Jane Hathaway, but if the job is paying us, we should certainly aspire! (I know she was fictional, but...) Can you imagine the life expectancy of a grammatical error in Jane's office? Nada. Gee, I just realized I admired Jane Hathaway.

HRH picked me up and we visited dfil Joe. Things are good there, although we wish he had more strength. With the new wheelchair ramp and porch complete, that whole side of the house and yard looks as though it's had a make-over. He and dstepmil had new curtains made for the front room in a fabric to match their "lighthouse" theme. It's his birthday Sunday and I found out he would appreciate a new pair of jeans for daily wear. Whispered to dstepmil and found out his size and favorite brands, so I should be able to accomplish that.

Well I tended to getting the clean dishes put away and washing up what dirty ones there were. Now we can dirty them again for dinner. Looks like a leftover night. DD put a nice sweet/sour sauce on a pork loin in the crockpot yesterday. It was yummy & there's enough left that dd and I can have it over rice. Almost imagine dh will have rice with milk and sugar.

We're 'on' again for looking for flights. Dh had hoped this new med would help more than it is. He's really not feeling well so dd and I will probably search online for the best deal we can get. For now am just planning to book a one-way ticket. Not sure what will happen after he sees his Dr. up there. I'm sure he will be headed to the big hospital in the city for the one test -it's the only place it's done in our area. So I have no idea how long he may be up there. Most flights are almost $300 1-way but there is one for $140 in 2 weeks. Will ask him if he feels he wants to wait that long. We shall see. He really doesn't look great today>

Does anyone here know what "KINDE SOLOBDADE" in German means in English? I found that "kinde" can mean child, on-line, but can't come up with "solobdade." I'm just curious. Got a pkg. from the neighbors, delivered here by mistake, the contents of the German-mailed box are on 2 labels on top of the pkg. I used to take beginning and advanced German in school. I understand all the contents of the box, except for the German words "Kinde Solobdade." I probably sound like Mrs. Kravitz, the nosy neighbor on "Bewitched!" I enjoy learning new words. The neighbor has a German exchange student, but don't know if she's still living here or is back in Germany. The pkg. is addressed to our neighbor. I don't recall the word "solobdade" in H. S. German classes. It's killing me to find out. LOL!

Booksaver I think the only way to separate that is to delete and start over which may be less of a head ache in the long run for you! That is why I pulled out of clubs groups & meetings a while back. (Members various opinions one gal told me to be quiet she wanted to talk about her cat, in a knitting group I was discussing a project decided I did not need that.)

Harriet did not find the calander planner at wmart and remembered the dollar store used to have those so I got the size I wanted there.

Took dgd to macdonalds for lunch after doing a few errands. That ass fun a nice break in the routine. They were out of shower curtains so will have to wait to get that replaced.

So far only 5 eggs today.

This morning I got the kit. & dining rm. Swept and mopped.

DGD's hat to match her leg warmers, was too tight. I'll make her the child size instead of the toddler then. I have enough yarn, too.

DH is back from his luncheon. I finished reading the ghost stories book, then wrote DD about the ghost book and ghosts. She'll probably wonder if I've lost my ever-living mind! It's a comical letter though. She'll laugh a lot, I think. I hope.

I need to go stretch. Too much sitting. Didn't get much done, except to start a mind map for 10 weeks, ending at the Spring Equinox. So far, so good. Have the dates listed and center main title.

Have a nice afternoon. Am praying for Sadie still and Mr. MT. I hope they're both doing better.

So glad to see Elizabeth's smiling face again. Way to go Twins with the award. You deserve a dozen more for all you do. As for your rabbi, like Harriet said the information was presented much better from you than someone else. Its always hard tell someone something that may hurt their feeling, but it needed to be asked and said.

I hope that Mr. MT and Sadie are both doing well.

I wanted to add to the sewing machine discussion. When I was 8 I got a child's Singer sewing machine. The machine had a manual handle that you turned to make the needle go in and out. I still have it, the instructions and the box it came in. Plus it still works. I used it to make my Jill Doll clothes.

Dee, we're having pork for dinner tonight as well. I made some center loin cuts for dinner last night so its leftovers for me too.

Flu shot was really yucky. They always make me sick. Wanted to give myself some protection since I will be flying to see my mom in a few weeks. I'm feeling myself again.

I'm off to remove some dust...I can hear those darn camel bells ringing in the distance. Norma says since Lawrence died he won't be coming around here any more...but I think his ghost has taken Lawrence's place

I need to do some "stuff" around the house. Been going to the gym in the mornings so I'm a bit behind. Think I'll start getting up a bit earlier in the mornings...that should help...but the sun doesn't rise until 7:20 at the moment and it is so nice to roost around under the covers for a while when its cool and dark. The hot weather will be headed this way sooooonnnnn.

Hoping Mr. & Mrs. Sadie are doing well this evening and her discomfort isn't too bad.

Dee, Enjoy your pork. We have a pork roast, but won't be having it tonight. Dee, I'll be praying for you and Mr. Dee and when he sees his doctor up there. Good luck on the trip and his outcome, too. All my best to you two.

Cowinkie, Glad you're feeling your old self today. I seem to get a reaction about a week later.

Booksaver, Nancy's smart. Sometimes the delete button is the most important one we can use. I've been there, too. It saves us grief in the long run, although when I hit "Edit", I wonder who read what, who thought what, etc... But we all can change our minds and use different words or no words at all. I sometimes say the wrong words, need to re-word what I said so it doesn't come out sounding so awful, when I innocently don't MEAN it to sound wrong or ill of anyone. I guess that's a difficult explanation, as to what I do, but it makes sense to me, because I've been "there".

Harriet, It's nice that MT was able to take a hotel room for the night, near the hospital. I hope Mr. MT will be okay.

I got a photo with DGD wearing the infinity scarf (meant for Ddil) and since the hat didn't fit, I'm very disappointed in putting in all that work on it. However, I have enough variegated yarn to make her 1 identical hat using the child size, since toddler's too tight at 12 months old, and I also have purple yarn to make an additional hat, which will match the infinity scarf AND leg warmers, too. Guess I'll be crocheting for awhile.

Did my s2s, which I'd normally do earlier, but was "planning" on a haircut tomorrow and wanted to shower later/shampoo since DH was gone. It's to be stormy tomorrow and Saturday, the barber lady's walk-in days, so I don't want to be on the freeways in heavy rains and winds. It's scary when those big long-haul truckers go by or speeding cars. SPLASH all over the windshield! You're practically "blind" for a couple minutes. Will shoot for the end of next week or the week after instead. There's no big rush. Have things here to catch up on, like laundry tonight, which will be done with the laundry basket MT by bedtime.

Started a mind map, realized how I did a boo-boo. I dated it for 10 weeks, each week's date, and the title was ending at the spring equinox. So, what do I do? I'm sitting there writing 2 titles for stories for the months of April THROUGH Oct.! That's way past spring. So I dated it for the summer (is the summer the equinox and spring something else?). I'll try to get the Aug. - Oct. stories done before the summer equinox, so I have more free time to container garden and to spend with our grandchildren.

Ivy - I googled Kinde Solobdade and one Solobdade seems to be an author. has stuff at amazon at least.

I have derailed my morning. I went back to bed to read. Got up to the ph and it wasn't the friend I expected. No I didn;t become a friend of the wildlife people, designate one bird above all others in my yard, or buy the $65 penguin plus stuff.
Friend rang later. i have opted not to go to someone else's b'day lunch today.

I think I need turn off the computer and start my day again.

Cowinkie - that's the same sewing machine I have. I got it when I was 7-8 years old and still have it in the original box too. One quilt show I went to had a vendor with 10 or 12 of these little sewing machines and said they are a popular antique. She was selling them for $150, similar to the Ebay price you linked. I have many fond memories of me sewing little projects on my machine. Fun times!
