ooooooh. I can't get going at all today. Still in pajamas. For one thing, it's rainy out and damp and I feel chilled, even tho I turned up the heat a bit.
I can't seem to find the bgs today to unstick my tushie from this chair and computer. Going to try to get moving....
-make the bed
-start a lol
-fold/put away several loads from dcleaning lady on Friday
-clear/wipe kitchen counters
-start OMM list..
I still have time to make today count. Dh is out bowling this evening so I have a big block of time if I can get moving....

Re: Making Monday Matter
I d2s, will s2s later, after getting more housework done. BFF and her DH come Wed., so want the house clean.
Will work on a story, probably this evening, after the housework and (hopefully) some snail mail's done.
It's cloudy here, was forecast winds, but don't hear/see them yet.
(((Sadie))), The most difficult thing to re-learn is sleeping in bed after rotator cuff surgery. I'm keeping you in my prayers. I'm glad you were able to make phone calls, too. Have a nice, restful day.
(((Dee & Mr. Dee))), I hope your arrangements to travel and get Mr. Dee to the doctor turns out well, that there can be a good solution and he'll be feeling better, too.
(((MT & Mr. MT))), I hope you two are doing better now, too.
Have a great Monday and make it matter, too.
I'm trying my best to do that, too.

Re: Making Monday Matter
I did that round. I decided that one basket of laundry in the laundry room wasn't clean - looks like dcleaning lady brought it down from dkids rooms on Friday.
I am moving....somewhat motivated?
-reboot laundry, start a load of delicates
-call re setting up two dr appts for dmom (from OMM list)
-s2s
-take out kitchen trash
-get mail, deal with 10 pieces of paper

Re: Making Monday Matter
Well, Twins, it makes me feel so much better to see you still in your pj's... b/c I am too. I told dh Saturday, I don't know why I worry so much about dmom. I'm no better. I could easily just sit in my housecoat all day long and watch tv or surf the internet. Saturday, I wanted to go to a movie, but if he had not been here, I would never have roused myself up enough to s2s and do anything.
Do some people just have that "up & at 'em" gene and I am missing it?
My daunt might sleep later than my ddad would have approved, and not take her shower till mid afternoon, but she'll be "up & at 'em" when her feet hit the floor. I think she just puts on yesterday's clothes, probably, or just gets to work while she's still in her pj's. Her house always looks neat and clean, and there are 4 adults living there (including 2 20-something men).
Anyway... supposing about daunt isn't helping me get moving, either.
It is dreary and rainy, here, too, Twins. When I first woke up it was pouring down rain, and I thought "ooohhh... good sleeping weather" and just pulled the quilt further up over my head!
Mr. & Mrs. Dee are so much on my mind... (((HUGS))) for both of you!!!
Also Mr. & Mrs. MT... (((HUGS)))
and Sadie! (((HUGS))) Daunt has complained so much about sleep w/the hard cast on her wrist/lower arm. I can't even imaging what it must be like w/a shoulder surgery!
3-11 is our general sleep hours here, btw. That seems to be dh's natural bio-rythym. * sigh * I have no idea what my natural schedule would be if I lived alone.
WTG w/the jog, helia!!! You go, girl!!!
Also -- love the hairstyle for dd, Harriet! I can relate to daddy problem, though. I could SIT on my hair until the end of 3rd grade. It was (still is) very, very thick & wavy/curly. Every Saturday dmom would wash it for me, and roll it so it hung in long lu-lu curls that bounced on my back when I walked. Ddad just thought it was beautiful -- and really, I guess it was... but dmom finally got really tired of this Saturday routine and told him if he didn't want to take care of it, we were getting it cut. So we did, to about shoulder length. Beautician was a dfriend of dmom's and before she started cutting, she kept saying, "You're SURE (ddad) is okay with this???" LOL.
(((HUGS))) for helia's dd... good gracious, that does sound like a HUGE load of schoolwork and other concerns. It makes me happy again that I'm not in school anymore myself, even from the other side of the desk!
I need to catch up on Downton Abbey -- I've recorded the first two episodes but haven't watched either of them yet!
Planning to do that later this week, when I also will need to catch up on ironing.
Need to do that de-briefing of holidays you mentioned, Harriet. I have a list of Thanksgiving notes/my schedule for the dinner, etc... but I'd like to get it on 3x5s so I could put it in my November cards.
Hope all goes well at the bank.
Oh -- movie reviews:
Walter Mitty -- much better than I had expected -- although kinda jarring sometimes how he goes from real life to daydreams. And eventually, his real life becomes pretty exciting and some really funny stuff happens. I love Ben Stiller; I just thought it looked like it would be ridiculous -- but it wasn't -- or at least, it was a very funny kind of ridiculous.
Nebraska -- hilarious, and slightly depressing. Bruce Dern's character is sad, aging, and it is too much a reminder to me of watching dfil's decline (although Bruce Dern's character never loses his ability to care for himself and the story does NOT end sadly at all). Family situations are hilarious at times. Also -- isn't Rance Howard Ron Howard's father? He has a small role. I didn't realize until the credits, and now couldn't tell you which one, but he is one of Bruce Dern's brothers. We both loved it though. BTW --- it is all black and white, in case you didn't know.
DH has gone to the shower... Wmart waits for no man. Or woman. Must get the bgs. Waving to all! See y'all later!

Re: Making Monday Matter
Lucylee, loved your post.
So far:
- dusted entry plant stand, tidied decor on it, tidied guest entry closet coats/hats
- dusted great room, dining room, kitchen
- redecorated some things
- dusted the pedestal light, the bulb cover fell out!
YIKES! Felt so bad! Wrote DH a note of apology and how sorry I am, where he plugs his cell phone in. I know HE can fix it.
Sure did catch me "off guard" and am so fortunate it didn't BREAK on our granite tile counters! What a mess that could have been. Shattered glass? Ummm.... No!
- did yoga, calf/leg stretches, walked 30 minutes, did calf/leg stretches
- started a load of laundry; socks, underwear, etc... (Will do towels, etc... later).
- re-made my side of the bed
- put dirty laundry into the laundry basket
- dusted an organizing caddy, which is in stairs up from the front of it. Put it into my office, on a chest of rubber stamps, which is wooden from IKEA and sturdy. Then, put books in it, easily seen with titles facing up, and it's a great addition to my office.
Later to do:
- finish laundry
- wash bathroom rugs, sweep, mop bathroom floors
- DH will mop tile entry floor
- will finish letters
- will put groceries away, sort, and do more mail.
- will tidy some more in the bunny room (I did some last night!)
- want to work FOCUS on the master bedroom
- will s2s, since I d2s this a.m. (Knew I'd be sweating up a storm, did/have, so will get clean before dinner.)
- will track the hats to dgd mailer to "see" where it is this evening.
- will tape up for b-day cards. Have about 20 now. (Belong to a pen pal club is why. It's their ministry to mail members b-day cards.)
- Which REMINDS me, 1 of my pen pals has a 67th b-day coming up next week, I need to get a b-day card off to her. She's retiring and moving at the same time, too. I know if she's moved already, it'll be forwarded to her. She was an LPN in a rehab center for over 30 years. Amazing woman. So sweet. Donates crochet, knitted items. What a doll she is.
I'll take a break now and wait for DH to get back, will write on some letters, journal, and I've prayed and done journaling already.
Twins' and Lucylee, I'm glad you're the "Pajama Twins" today.
It makes me feel SO GOOD because I have those days, too! I'm glad I'm in the pajama club occasionally, too. It makes me feel less perfect!
But a part of the club, too, because what IS perfection? It doesn't exist! Does it?
Helia! You jogged? WTG!
I heard Walter Mitty was very good, coming from the opinion of DH's dcousin and her dfriend the film maker!

Re: Making Monday Matter
Hello, villagers ~
Looks like a theme with Twins'Mom & Lucylee ... I'm not sure why I'm moving so slowly today. Oh wait, I bet standing in one place for over 3 hours yesterday in shoes with inadequate arch support probably has a lot to do with it.
We had an open house at the library yesterday to show off expansion/construction plans, and I was one of the volunteers to help explain the drawings. They hoped for 50 attendees but barely got 20. There was plenty of advertising for the event, and we even had refreshments, but there were other things going on yesterday, too -- a popular college basketball game, a relatively nice day, and a local funeral visitation. It was one of those things that we just needed to offer people the chance to come see and comment so no one could claim they didn't have the chance, and it was one of a series of meetings we've been having for months.
Actually, I knew we'd be lucky to get 20 people on a Sunday afternoon. I was happy to use it as an opportunity to talk to the children's librarian about LEGO club, and do some subtle advertising for the club to volunteers there who hadn't heard about it yet.
The library board president said her sons had all kinds of LEGO sets they no longer played with, so she's going to try to convince them to donate some.
The only activity out of the house that I have scheduled for this week is a meeting in The Big City first thing Friday morning as a celebration of life for the dfriend who died just before Christmas. The new sewing group president might need help before board meeting next week, but I'm hoping to keep those interactions to phone calls and Emails rather than driving to her town.
The rest of the week my plan is to focus on paper taming. I cleared a large horizontal work/sorting space Saturday and am looking forward to putting it to good use.
Harriet ~ DD's new hairstyle is super cute. Will it be easier to style than her longer hair was, or does it need blow dry/product/flat iron to keep in shape?

Re: Making Monday Matter
Still am doing laundry. I worked very hard in the bunny room, at the end of the hall, where company will see it if they use the guest bathroom. I hope they need to use it!
I got the great room done, the dining room table needs to be done, am waiting for dark clothes to wash so I can do towels. If I don't run out of "steam"
before evening, I'd sure love to whiten and brighten the white towels up on a Biz soak, which hang up in the guest bathroom. It'll be nice to sweep/mop in there, too. I dusted some decor on the counters. CAN clean the bathrooms tomorrow, too.
I want to write letters, rest, have some coffee with hot chocolate in it.
I got my insurance membership card today, called my dr. to see him next week for a med consult, from meds from a different doctor, he'll be prescribing for me now. Need to do my homework, write down the other dr. #, address, and write the medications out, take the bottles, so he knows I'm honest. Will tell him which pharmacy I've chosen, too. Told the receptionist she has the most beautiful voice and she should be doing voice-overs for commercials. She laughed her head off, but was pleased at my compliment, but it's so TRUE! Her voice is wonderful.
DH gave me a card, a black rhinestone studded spiral notebook. It's got a diamond pattern, so the silver lines of the diamond pattern take you to each point where there is a rhinestone. I plan on doing W. W. on my own, using one of my older program plans, so will use this diamond notebook where I talk motivational self-talk to myself, give myself pep talks, and celebrate, too, or whine or cry. I'll use different colors of inks, too, making the inside bright and pretty. Might add stickers here and there, too. It fits in the basket on my end table so well, is so decorative and DH did good with his card, too! It took him quite awhile to find the "perfect" b-day card, he never signs the envelope to me, so I can re-use it for a pen pal or whomever. He bought chocolates, Poppycock, and a pull-apart, too. Guess this is the last hooray before the W. W. day begins on the 20th. At least with W. W. you can eat activity points, you get weekly points allowed extra for a week, so as long as you count what you eat, you're doing well.
The day's still dreary-looking outdoors. I need to run and refresh with coffee while I write some letters, relax, and put my feet up again. I'm so thrilled I finally got my membership # card for healthcare, was able to sign in, and get the ball rolling. It was such a worry for me, I'm afraid, but anything new like this is so challenging sometimes, until everything's finally done. So many people along the way, via phone, helped me with the process, too. I was surprised, one day, when I thanked a lady for the good job they're doing. She said, "You're the first person who's called today with something nice to say like that. Everyone's been calling to yell at us!"
They're just doing their jobs.
Have a great rest-of-Monday, Everyone! Waving to you all.

The baby is gone. I have flipped flopped the laundry,
got the living room vacuumed. Sheets are in the dryer.
I have made good progress today. I cleared the papers off the table.

Re: Making Monday Matter
Good evening everyone! I have not gotten much done today at all, and I really need to. I did run several LOLs and did some minor cleanup, but then I started a book at lunch and could not put it down. I am just now starting some job hunt activity. I have a long list of TODOs:
call about mortgage insurance policy (too late, deferred to tomorrow)
email some dates to friend
homeowners insurance paperwork (to get a discount, not more problems)
cleanup (and check FlyLady's lists)
DPCs
mail a check
clean out suitcase and put it away
pay a bill and transfer some money
record some job search activity from last week
