(((Sadie))) Heal quickly.
I'm up and about to head off into Honolulu.
My to-do list:
Write postcards (done)
Refill Vitamins
mail postcards
repair shoes
tour on hop-on, hop-off bus
buy soap
buy shoes (if our shoes can't be repaired)
Write travelog
cull photos from past three days
cull my email in-box to under 500.
See you all later!

Re: To-Do Tuesday
I've made lots of progress on that list. I have an appointment on Friday for POA for dmom, left a phone message about the needed password (which was emailed to me, but doesn't work
) have appointments set up for dmom drs and did the online form to request ddad's discharge papers.

Re: To-Do Tuesday
Popping in but not properly cuops. . .
((Sadie)) Yes, I can only echo Kathryn - please heal quickly.
((Twins)) Are you coming to the end of your time in temple leadership? I'm not sure exactly what your title is, but I'm wondering if you'll get a clean break at some point. . . .
Last night, dd15 told me she figured out that she has about 5.5 hours of homework/studying each night this week. Her solution last night (which I didn't know about until this morning)? Stay up until 1 a.m. and then get up at 6:15 to continue with schoolwork. I told her she can't do this every night. . . . She seemed generally less stressed yesterday, even had me confirm an oboe lesson for Wed. - right before her synchro practice. I thought maybe she could skip a lesson this week. . . I don't know how this week will progress. Today, she'll come home around 2:45 and then we'll leave again at 3:45 to get her to the school for her ride to the synchro meet. She'll be home around 10 pm? Hopefully, she can do a little bit of homework while she's there. Tomorrow, she'll also have one hour at home before we head off to her oboe lesson 4 -5 and then off to synchro practice, 5:30 - 7:30, followed by a team dinner. I hope she's home by 9 pm. . . Thursday, she has a percussion ensemble rehearsal for 1.5 hours after school, she'll be home by 6 pm. But hopefully, she'll have some time between the end of school and the beginning of the rehearsal (4 pm) to do some work. Friday is synchro practice for 3 hours. Saturday is synchro for 4 hours. . . And the pianist still hasn't gotten in touch with us re: rehearsals for her solo. I was hoping for 2 but maybe there will just be one. . .
Can't live her life for her, but I don't want to see her crash and burn.
So far today, I have:
- gotten self ready
- worked a bit on teaching
- gone to teaching team meeting
- gone to the groc. store through to put away
- had lunch; started at 12:45. I discovered I can watch Downton Abbey season 4 episodes for free; I watched 1/2 of the first one.
Now, it is 2:20 -- how did that happen?? I'm going to make progress on the rest of the a.m. routine. Girls will be home in about 25 minutes, I'm guessing.

(((Sadie))) Baby step progress. I'm sorry about loss of DFriend
Twins - Vent away! Your plate is waaaay overloaded. My vote is for turn-key job on live streaming of services. Technical experience counts in all stages of a project like that.
I'm trying to keep myself busy and not pace the floor. No word from DD today. I keep checking online to see if the money has been picked up yet. Nope. Their plane departs in 1.5 hours.

Re: To-Do Tuesday
Sigh unsub me from the list of some companies seems to generate more not less emails. So what is up with that?
Dgd "helped" make muffins.
Doing work on the "what have I been putting off" does not seem to make the place look any better! LOL!

Got soaked in tropical rain but managed to find shoe repair shop and drop off dhs shoe. Mine cannot be fixed. Am at a mall now having a rest and drying off. The sun is out and it is hot now.

Re: To-Do Tuesday
I spent weeks in the recliner after my shoulder replacement, Sadie. So feel good about any progress. Proud of you. DS-R has his shoulder surgery this Thursday. Praying very hard that they can find a way to help him. But he has good attitude so that's 9/10 of the equation in any illness.
Threw in a load of laundry and just waiting to put it in the laundry twin. Having a late dinner. We picked up pizza to throw in the oven when we know dd and dsonil are on their way home from pictures. Figured easy was good tonight.
Don't know what to do with myself this afternoon. Read for a while and dozed a little. Have things I'd like to do in the main area of the house but dsonil has been out there ever since we came home on his computer. Hate to be out there working when he's online. He likes it quiet when he's working on anything. Of course I COULD be straightening our room.
It's been quite neglected these last few weeks -between Christmas and Annual Reports. Maybe I'll just pick one item to clear and put away. That would be a start.
I am starting a pile of things to pack for dh to take home. Will try to separate some of it for him to leave up there if he comes back down anytime soon. Trying to think of 'winter' is particularly hard for me now after spending so many years down here. Know he definitely won't need shorts.
And making a l&&t of things to type out for him -like Dr's meds sheets, etc. Also will have to do a detailed one for him on which medications are where. Usually I put A.M. and P.M. in separate zip bags, BUT many he takes now are both and one he takes only at bedtime. He also reminded me this morning that I need to add a note to Dr's sheet that he'll need antibiotic if he's to undergo any procedure. So he'll need a prescription for that. I think he might already have some -will have to look.
Are you in Honolulu, Kathryn? Was trying to remember. If so, I probably know where you are -well maybe.

Re: To-Do Tuesday
Goodness gracious, I missed that you have lost a friend, Sadie. ((HUGS))
Travels sound so interesting, Kathryn!! I'm enjoying imagining along with your travels, especially since I've been to Hawaii a couple times, so I'm looking at some old memories. Your hike yesterday sounded great! I wonder if we did it or not? We went to the big island w/ dkids many years ago. They were ages 1, 3, and 5 at the time -- so 14 years ago, to be precise. We did go hiking in a rainforest, and we visited the volcano! We stayed in Kailua-Kona (?) though. I remember leaving the window open at night and being able to hear the waves all night long. . . . I'm not sure we got to Hilo. Or maybe we drove through while circling the island. There are several places near Honolulu we've visited before that I really enjoy, mostly nature areas. I found the city itself large and very touristy last time I was there 1.5 years ago. Maybe that was just b/c our hotel was right on that main tourist beach area.
I've taken care of some emails, welcomed dgirls home, unloaded dw, taken dd15 to the school for her ride to the meet.
Dd18 just got a merit scholarship for the big Univ. here, so that is something! Every little bit helps. She didn't apply for it. Our kids are not good about applying for scholarships.
Off to finish the kitchen and get dinner started. Maybe we'll eat early tonight.

Re: To-Do Tuesday
Carefully not pacing the floor with OKay.
Lots of work done in our bedroom and bathroom, but cleaning really hasn't happened yet, as I keep finding ways the bedroom could benefit from declutter most. HRH, a little slow on the uptake, complimented the dining room, where I worked days ago.
My new copy of the habit book finally arrived. (Gave first copy to dstepdil.) I've been waiting for 2 weeks. It was on back-order and the rest of my order arrived a week ago.
Funny about kinship of my branch bank guy to others we know! I hate to say it but I may start going to the other branch more often - the credibility of the place suffers in my mind now.

Me too, me too.Carefully not pacing the floor with OKay.
I'm starting to declutter our room. Goodness knows -it needs it. Perhaps it's something I can focus on after dh leaves - so I also am not waiting & pacing. Trying hard not to let my thoughts run rampant.
(Sadie) not ever easy to lose anyone we care about.
