Willpower Wednesday

Post by Harriet »

Sometimes a little willpower can get us up and doing the things we resist, or set us down to resist the things we'd rather! :D

Will you be calling on some stores of willpower today? We can do it!

Happy Birthday Ivy!

I will be away from home most of the day - 9:00 - 4pm Master Gardener class

DH has elder meeting at 5pm and then is preaching tonight at 7pm.

DGD2 and DD plane arrives at 9pm. I'm not sure if we need to pick her up or not. Will txt later today and find out if her friend can do it. If her friend can't do it, then I need to find someone to come stay with LO at our home while I make the drive to airport.

Willpower is needed today with all the sweet and salty treats at class. They pile a 8' table up with treats for the class to eat during the day. I'm going to focus on the drinks available (coffee, water) and try to not look at the rest.

I have eaten within my WW points the last 2 days. I did not exercise yesterday, though. ..

Today, I must use willpower to stay focused. I need to finish up prep for teaching. Dh is calling me later this morning to go over it with me. I'm meeting ds for coffee (he'll have lunch) at 12:30. Dd15 goes to oboe at 4 and then to synchro immediately afteward. We're eating at Noodles & Co. tonight for fundraiser for the synchro team. I would like to get to the gym today. It is a little cold for jogging outside - for me.

Dd15 did not do well at the meet last night. She didn't seem very disappointed, though, so that's good. I think she was in bed before 12:30 and got up at 7.

I have done some emails, sent evite to a few more guests, colleagues of dh's, had one mug of tea, filled out cap and gown order form. I filled out the $$ part incorrectly twice. I'm hoping the 3rd time shows through clearly. At least, I'm sure the final check was for the correct amount. It was due yesterday, but both dd18 and I forgot about it. She came home straight after dropping off dd15 and GG to get it.

I'm off to s2s and have my 2nd start at this morning.

Oh today WP might be okay. But tomorrow I'll surely need it. Have our campground get-together in Sarasota at the Dutch Heritage Inn. I will need that willpower for the buffet then!!

Happy Birthday, Ivy. May you have a stupendous day!
Was at the Ala Moana mall. Good gracious it is HUGE!!!! I ended up walking 3 miles while there.
Know that one, exactly, Kathryn. Dh said at one time it was supposed to be the largest there. Now, whether that is still true -who knows. I walked that many times the 2 times we were there. Enjoy your cruise.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Willpower, huh? I just finished off the Little D ebbie valentines cakes that dd bought and then left here. I think I am going to WW today to weigh in again, after a long hiatus.

I have the dishwasher going with the CPAP water reservoir thingie in there. Trying to remember to do it weekly when we don't run the dishwasher that often when dkids aren't here. I got recycling out this morning right after I got up - I don't think I posted about the garage clean up yesterday but I had the recycling gathered up and ready to go. I found that someone had apparently thrown away a plastic bag of recycling thinking it was garbage, but I guess it's okay to let it go. I loaded up a box to go to Goodwill tomorrow, along with an old vacuum cleaner to go.

About my little vent yesterday about temple, immediate past president said, "Let it go!" i.e. that there will always be a few more things not finished and not to stress about it. The temple will be here long after I will. Wish I could take that advice, I'm alternating between sheer panic at what "needs" to be done, and being so sick of it all that I don't want to do anything anyway. Helia, I will be done as president on May 1 - my friend the IPP says that the best part of being past president is that one gets to volunteer to do only what they want to do.

Still in pajamas, where is Lucylee? I can't believe it's almost 11 a.m. here.

PODA:
-scan over temple statements and donor receipts for issues, return them tomorrow
-go to Lowes for plastic bins for organizing the halloween/fall/thanksgiving stuff in garage
-work on garage
-continue paper taming and desk set up
-temple stuff, prioritize and do

For this round:
-s2s
-walk ddogs
-reboot laundry
-clean the stovetop
-15 minute laundry room clean up

Happy birthday, IVY!
