Harmony, the lawyer is the one having actual interaction with the clerk of court, not me. He is telling me everything he needs, having me collect it all and get it to him, and then dealing with the courthouse himself. He just missed, as I did, the lack of signature by the notary, so that trip was wasted for him, unless they allowed him to mail the redone form - don't know. He's not helping me with things like the bank or the DOT, except to get me the right papers for them to finish their work.
Confusing e-mail from the previous insurer says that they need a copy of my power of attorney. Sigh. So obviously they have missed the entire point of all my conversations with them and don't even get that my father is dead. I'll need to call them yet again and tell them a power of attorney means nothing after death, so please decide which form is it that they actually need... ...
HRH is out with a friend tonight. He does that so seldom. I hope they have fun.
Have exercised.

Re: Willpower Wednesday
My goodness, Harriet!
You are getting the run-around treatment. It's like they don't "get" it or have a "clue". Makes you wonder how they stay in business.

It's good you exercised.
I posted a reply to your vacuum post. It's challenging to have that happen, but DH's idea sounded like a good solution, to me.
I'm trying to finish up on snail mail, so I can concentrate on the story tomorrow. Just remembered I have a lol to dry and fold dry towels on the bed, too. I've not gotten a start on my FOCUS bedroom yet. I worked on the entire house this week, in other living areas, except the bedroom, which gets started tomorrow.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR THEIR HAPPY 62nd BIRTHDAY GOOD WISHES TODAY! It was a very good b-day, from beginning until our full moon at midnight.
I woke up singing and believe I'll go to bed that way, too.

Re: Willpower Wednesday
Well -- I'm barely getting here before the day is over -- and dh will want the computer in just a minute.
Just rushing around today. Bug lady came and sprayed, and we both love her so much that we spend waaay too much time just chatting with her and catching up since our last visit. She comes every three months, but she and her husband have been spraying our house for YEARS so we've followed each others lives for quite some time.
Then the phone calls started. See J&C...
dmom
dh's cousin
dh making calls to other cousins, me finding phone numbers
I had to go back to
-- CVS
-- and other drug store
-- and pick up supper
-- and get dmil's mail
Then went to dmil's w/dh
Brought dgs home with me
* whew *
And tomorrow is going to be all day w/dmom. Y'all wish me luck.
Happy birthday, IVY!!!
I am so sorry about all the mix-ups and stuff you've been going through w/your estate matters, Harriet. * sheesh * Stuff like that just drives me crazy.
I had such high hopes for the new year, but FOCUS is just not getting done around here. And I don't see much happening tomorrow.
Oh well... there's always Friday. Saturday, if we are not at a funeral, we may be out of town at a ballgame. Then Sunday, if we are not at a funeral, we will have dgs all afternoon. My days just drift away from me.
Need to look at the vacuum question.
Waving to ALL!!!
PS!!! Editing to add -- re: Osage County -- there WAS laughter at the fight scene and some other scenes that were probably more sad than humorous. Maybe we were just a crass audience... but it was just so over-the-top, that you almost had to laugh. But the whole thing just left you with a feeling that for these characters, no one had really learned anything or changed anything, and nothing was going to improve for any of them, and some of them were even worse off... and yeah... it was just a waste of time. One of my dgaunts used to say, "I don't watch things that are going to make me feel bad," and that would certainly be wise advice to follow.
My advice for this year's movies -- stick with Captain Phillips, The Butler, and Saving Mr. Banks. Now those were good movies.

Happy Birthday IVY!!!
Hi everyone else! I got up much too late today AGAIN. I need to schedule things in the morning until I get a job, just so I get my booty moving. I bounced a check, my last payroll did not come in when I thought it would and BOING! Fortunately, it was covered by the bank and no fees were charged. I sent in a job application today, must do at least one more tomorrow, and the next day. I arranged some paperwork to get to XDH. Hopefully, this time it will get done. LOL is washed but not dried, another needs folding and putting away.
Today/tomorrow list:
report job search activity for unemployment
write/send birthday card for friend
mail check
fix table
fix chairs
apply mortgage insurance
insurance homework
general cleanup
empty/put away suitcase
call friend about cats
pay bills/update Quicken/transfer money
Probably some other stuff I have forgotten.
Harriet: I'd like to know how those people expect you to get the power of attorney SIGNED!
I am going to play a scrabble game, then look up some things to get me out of bed tomorrow, have a snack, then go to bed. I have been staying up much too late lately. Cat care and me care is done already.

Re: Willpower Wednesday
I had planned to go to bed by 10:30. I am glad that I hadn't headed that way because dd2 called. They have decided not to move into the new house. Tomorrow the mover's were suppose to move things from the business to the new house. So instead they will move them to their much larger home. I am quite relieved because right now I don't have the energy to help her move. She has moved quite a bit of stuff over there by herself, that will have to be moved back home. Dh and I felt like it was just too small of a house for 7 people but it had to be her decision. I am just glad they decided to stay before they moved and then decided to move back to the larger house. I could just see that happening.
Gotta head to bed...............

Oh, (((Lilac)))... your dd just amazes me. I'm saying that in a good way, you know... but oh my goodness. I know you and your dh are glad this moving back/forth is over, but what are they going to do with the new house now? What does her dh say? My dh can't stand it if we make a decision to eat hamburgers and then I change my mind to chicken, LOL!!!
Tomorrow is another day.

Re: Willpower Wednesday
Thanks for the birthday wishes, Everyone.
Lilac, I'm glad you were up to get dd2's call and that you're relieved they'll move into a larger home.
Elizabeth, Thanks for the birthday greeting, too.
Do you keep a resume? DD used to keep one updated on our old computer, although she had a job, for "just in case" days when it might be needed.
Also, I've heard there are employers which allow you to apply on-line and send a resume to their site, then they call for an interview if they want you as an employee. I was just curious if you've run into any of these types of situations, which I heard about when DD was looking for a job fresh out of college, etc... and in later years, too, for other types of work.
Lucylee, I'll go to J & C.... Thanks for the happy birthday, too.
DH told me tonight he'll never watch Osage County- ever. He doesn't want to see anything of that sort. But then here, the other day, he sits here and watches, "No Country for Old Men!" So go figure!
DH bought chocolates the other day, so we had a few.
Sure were good, but I start counting W. W. Points on Mon. the 20th!

Living this day, today
