Done with that round....altho I did some stashing and dashing, I guess. I had brought some stuff in from the garage and had to find homes for those things.

Also answered some temple emails.

I need to straighten up MBR and take some stuff from stairwell upstairs and reboot the laundry. Dcleaning lady s/b here soon. This afternoon I need to make a trip to HobLob and/or Walmart looking for pillow forms, and also work on the garage.

Good morning, all!!!
Busy busy day yesterday -- more info in J&C -- but I'm okay. And dmom is probably okay for the time being. She IS such a hypochondriac... but as I told dxsisil, all her concerns ARE real things. And as xdsisil quickly pointed out, it has just all piled up on her b/c she has totally forgotten about herself over the past several years while taking care of ddad. So... maybe we just take it one step at a time, and dmom will have to decide what she needs MOST, FIRST. * sigh * Maybe SOMEDAY I really will have my "old" dmom back.
Of course, ds said, in about 15 years I may be in the same spot she is now, and I'll have more patience with her. Plus, I'll lose my "filter" and can enjoy conversations with her again, LOL.

Don't know what I'd do without that boy. Somewhere in my youth and childhood, I must have done something good.

Today... errands for dmom --
[x] post office
[x] insurance office * THEY were glad to see me, let me tell you!!! Just about at the point of cancelling coverage on my late dgmother's house, which dmom rents to church youth director. *
[x] tax office
Other things I would like to do
[ ] bedroom focus
[ ] whb
[x] exercise
[ ] change sheets
[/] laundry
[ ] ironing
[ ] catch up on Downton Abbey
[x] gift for dcousin baby shower (which I missed while on trip to CA)
[ ] pictures downloaded to Wmart

That's too much -- I'll not complete it all, but at least I have a path to follow now.

Lucylee, your DMom does not sound like a hypochondriac. She sounds like a person with a lot of health issues to deal with. I guess we tend to look at our parents as the strong ones who take care of things, and not be the ones we have to care for/worry about. Sometimes it is the reverse. {Big Hugs!}

MT, remembering the time I was driving on interstate and lens fell out of my glasses. We got a glasses kit too, it's somewhere around here.....

Taking a long breath... starting over here...

Made dreaded phone calls. Had lost one phone number someone gave me, and found it the first place I looked but didn't understand my note...so whole house paperwork scramble a little more organized right now. Managed to get 2 appointments set up in not too distant future. DH will be pleased.

Got the compost bucket outside. Crawled around under the grapefruit tree and picked up all the fruit underneath and put them in the compost also. Tree has been losing its fruit, so that's why DH picked the rest of them a couple weeks ago. Incidentally, anybody who does a compost might be amused to learn that last year's compost must not have been processed enough because I have tomatoes growing all through my garden from seeds...but we left them, moving some to the tomato patch, some are all through the broccoli, but now most of them have fruit on them..so glad for the freebies. When I try to grow left-over seeds they never grow... so we're surprised! Oh, and I got my first handful of broccoli today, will put that in our salad tonight.

Emptied dishwasher. Helped DH with payroll. Going to work on laundry now. Back to the fundamentals around here. Must be careful not to overdo things with all this nervous energy I'm feeling, because that will cause me to burn out. I've been talking to myself out loud all morning, so I know my nerves are jangled.

Congrats to Helia's DD18! WTG! I bet she and all of you are excited and very pleased. :D

Kathryn, You make me feel like I'm on a cruise right alongside you, with your descriptions of the goings on. Thank you for your colorful posts. :D

DH got sick in the night, from my b-day dinner. :( I still don't feel 100% either. I should have gone ahead with my previous plan of steaks, veggies, salad, and fruit. Instead we had lasagna (frozen boxed from store), garlic bread pre-made, slathered w/way TOO much butter/garlic/green leafy things, and then the dump cake ended up getting dumped, too. All these things made us so sick.  So after this, I'm not going by an emotional "craving"! :!: I'm using my HEAD and will eat a healthier dinner.

I subscribed to W. W. Magazine last night, their site's e-newsletter and another W. W. e-newsletter from "Dottie's Weight Loss Zone." I believe the URL is:

http://www.dwlz.com Way back in 2006, when I was on W. W. At Home Turn-Around plan, I subscribed to her newsletter. Then, in 2007, I discovered how her DH, Al Coon, wrote lovely inspiring, knowledgeable, and motivating essays. I printed up the lot, put them in a binder, made a pretty cover for the binder, and I now have those to read, too.

Have a great FUNdamental Friday! Thanks for the lead-in, too, Kathryn. We should make life more FUN, shouldn't we! :D

We can make a mini loaf of pumpkin bread dgd likes to help with that activity. I have new side walk chalk for her to use too.

Good morning from approximately 6'30"N, 159'13"E (you can see where I am by entering 6.5,-159.25 into a google maps search bar.)

Mainly cloudy with sunny breaks, 82*F already (before 9) and much rougher than yesterday but still nothing noteworthy. The cabin is noisier now with the walls and ceiling creaking and we have to remember to put things down where they can't roll away, close the bathroom door so it won't swing and put a pair of shoes in front of the 'laundry' drawer that won't stay shut unless it is weighted down with laundry (it is empty right now because we sent laundry in to be done this morning.)

I'm just finishing up tea and chocolate. My decaf tea makes me pee a lot so I'm having that this morning instead of green tea. Ankles/feet are a bit better this morning but still very, very, sore. I may ice later this morning although I'm not sure that will help.

Today was to be a shore day at Fanning Island but a storm a week or more ago wiped out the infrastructure so we are cruising on by. That's why we have 6 sea days in a row. Pago Pago is fine so we'll stop there (no tours because they don't have suitable services for Silversea, but we can wonder on our own by bus) and then head on to Tonga (which I believe they will cancel in a day or two due to storm damage but I could be wrong - I think they are waiting to tell us since people will be so upset.)

There's nothing of interest today, just an 'interview' with the captain. No other lectures. There's a James Bond movie in the afternoon (Sean Connery, so obviously an old one) but I'll use the time to sleep, read and catch up on writing.

Oh, shoot, have ya'll seen these headlines for weather now? For instance, from Time magazine, "The Polar Vortex Is Probably Coming Back - Just when you thought it was safe to look forward to February".
Predictions are that from next Tuesday (Jan. 21) through the end of the month, temperatures in many parts of the U.S. will be well below normal. Based on weather models, the polar vortex – a swath of bitterly cold, dense air – will move well south of its normal position and blast the northeast with more frigid temperatures. Throughout much of the country, temperatures will be 20 to 30 degrees below average, with the most extreme cold expected to hit 11-15 days from now.

Wasn't there something on the calendar about sixteen days from now? Some ball game people were a little interested in... ... pretty close to a big city?

Harriet, I have a couple of SC pen pals. 1 wrote the other day, saying it was 10* when she got up. :o And here it was so hot this summer there, but the flowers were beautiful, if they could water them enough.

They were concerned about this Sunday's Seahawk's v. s. SF 49-er's game's weather, because our last Seahawk's game was in thunder, lightning, pouring rain and winds. But this Sunday has a favorable and dry forecast. There were some other football games being played, too, where the weather was icy/snowy, too, but can't recall if it was Green Bay or not. :?: DH would know. I asked DH and he said, "Probably Denver, (Broncos), because that was the only other team." DH has a female dcousin and 2nd cousin, living in the Denver area and the weather can switch from warm to ice/snow, on a dime! :!:  It's amazing, the reports I receive. :o

DH and I are having a lay low day, as we're still not feeling 100%. We're doing things in baby steps. Sit down things, in front of the TV and then get-up-doing things. DH is so busy tending the fire, getting wood in to the indoor bin, etc.... It's odd it's FUNdamental Friday, because it's not a 'lot' of fun, but we're managing to enjoy our day, regardless. I can hardly wait to see what the mail brings today. Ddil was planning on making me another infinity scarf from the lightweight stretchy ruffle ribbon/material you can find at the end of the yarn dept. next to ribbons. They make sophisticated infinity scarves, are so stylish, and lovely. Ddil gets ideas from Pintrest, she's so clever, and such a fantastic seamstress. With 6 boys and a baby girl, she finds herself sewing when the youngin's are down for naps, or at midnight, when everyone's asleep. I don't know how she does it. She's absolutely amazing! :!:

I'm off to wash sheets, now that the mattress cover's drying. Soon, it'll be mail time and Dkitty cat will get her treats. She gets a few in the a.m., upon waking, standing at attention and at mail time, she sits at attention, too. We have such a well-behaved child. ;)

Have a nice afternoon, Everyone. :D
