Our surprise was coming back to the cabin after dinner tonight and it was candlelit (battery candles) and a heart of rose petals on the bed, with the word 'Love' in the middle!
What surprises, large and small, do you expect today?
It is kind of funny, being at sea really means no big surprises - my day is all scheduled and I can't go anywhere else to break the routine. On the other hand, small surprises can abound if you know where to look for them.
Our internet will revert to the old style tomorrow which means our minutes are limited. But that will save us $$$ so we are glad the option has been given to us. This unlimited internet has us online far too often.

Up and about here. I need to be at temple in an hour for the b'nai mitzvah.

Re: Saturday Surprise
b'nai mitzvah is the same celebration and service that was held for Twins' Mom's twins. I think b'nai means it's for the children, not just for one boy or one girl.
Nancy, you know how I brag on sweet potatoes! Looooove them for so many reasons. So healthy. Pretty plant, too. Fast growing.
((blessed !)) where ya been, girl? I saw you had mentioned in cardfile central that ddyounger had your computer a while.
OKay, assuming your stamp order is coming from the same place as mine, it has to be mailed from Kansas City, so that's why the charge - my postage was $1.25. My local PO wouldn't have had the forever stamps I got - it's always a toss-up what they are carrying, although I suppose they would have had all the small denomination ones. Ordering is a bigger help to me, out on a rural route, since I seldom go to the PO and would rather not have the errand, and you are there often. Mine has told me before that they will order a particular stamp if I will come back later, but I've never bothered with 2 trips.
K and K are getting their photo taken swimming in the wilds together, and rose petals are strewn on their bed. Hmm... .. Last evening HRH and I went on an exciting shopping trip to the near town pharmacy, the highlight of which was seeing if we thought their blood pressure machine was accurate now. Yea, just about the same.
Today my e-mail batch deletion was from the Current catalog people. Again, not unsubscribing to this one because it was a genuine decision of my own to start getting their e-mails, I just let the deletion get behind. Also noticed, from way back, I had never deleted 20 ebay motors e-mails I'd gotten for a small space of time by surprise - nothing recent from them and don't know why I ever got any. So those are gone.
Had a hard time watching a video, and HRH witnessed it.
Now he's threatening me with a new computer. Sorta dread that, you know? Everything's settled with mine, there are no real problems except that, yes, "experts" would say it's probably time to upgrade. Sigh. Now, how do I just know something will be lost, or something will go wrong, or be a hassle, and he'll be frustrated. Also, he's been talking about a better LR tv, which could do a better job as a monitor than the one we have now. I truly hate to have 2 techo-decisions happening at the same time. Bad for the pocketbook, bad for the male temperament!

Re: Saturday Surprise
Twins', Enjoy the celebration.
OKay, I never would have thought you'd be paying postage for the stamps.
Harriet, You're so knowledgeable about so many things. I read and re-read your posts and learn so much. It's great.
Nancy, Sorry about the toe issues. I've had ingrown toenail surgeries before, are not fun, but my podiatrist taught me how to cut straight across the big toes. Now I don't have problems. If I do, I know it's time for the trim again.
Sadie, I'm sorry you're unable to sleep in bed yet. Good things come to those who wait. It will come in time. It's a baby-steps thing that slowly happens and when it does, it feels so good. Hang in there. ...... So sorry your dfriend was only 50 and died from the flu. Hope his Memorial Service was nice. All my best thoughts and prayers to you and your DH, too.
Kathryn, The romantic setting in your room sounded wonderful. ♥ ♥
My dawn simulator went off early, but I turned the "dawn" off and went back to sleep.

Re: Saturday Surprise
Sorry to keep you guys guessing! It was for two individuals - both adult women. Technically, I think it was a b'not mitzvah since both are female so I used the wrong term. B'nai is used for two males or a male and female.
Dh stayed for luncheon but I need to get dMacs to PT in an hour. Could have stayed for a while but since we were at temple last night and are going to a large Jewish social function this evening, I thought it better to lay off the socializing.

Re: Saturday Surprise
Hello all! I'm just finishing my lunch. I spent all morning at orientation for host families (and Kids) with the foreign exchange program we're a part of. Got home about 45 minutes ago. Cleared some garbage out of dh's car as I exited. I took his car to the meeting b/c he wanted my van to drop off the Cmas tree. So, all our Cmas has now been put away, thanks largely to dh.
THe boxes still need to be put away in the basement, though.
After I finish lunch, I'll be finishing the a.m. routine, working on a bday gift for R, checking with S about bday dinner for R tonight -- we haven't heard anything re: details. Dd15 will need to be picked up from synchro at 2:15. GG will need to be picked up from her longer orientation at 5:30. I'd like to exercise - at the gym today. Dh did go for a run this a.m. but it was too cold for me. Besides, I needed to be out early to the meeting.
Done:
x up, s2s-ed, teeth and face
x groc. store for snacks for the meeting
x orientation meeting 10 - 12:15
x lunch
Next:
- finish a.m. routine (kitchen will need a lot of work to get it back to MM, one of the elements of my morning routine)
- gather and start some laundry
- pick up dd15
- buy special coffee for R
