Re: Tuesday Therapy
((OKay)) thank you for the start, and great going with all the family time you have had lately.
Today was a "day out" for me. The 3 time put off breast clinic appointment. All went well. Staff were great. As was results.
Now - must start to get my bbr working for me. I need a soak for stiff muscles. The train seats are not really comfortable, though much better than I train I traveled on recently.
good night.

Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.

Re: Tuesday Therapy
Yes, amen to that OK! I'll get to talk to my best girl friend tomorrow. . .
Dd18 came to our bedroom at 5 a.m. to tell us that dd15 was throwing up. Dh and I both got up and helped clean up things. This morning, she told us that she's been throwing up about every 30 minutes since. . . We don't do stomach bugs very often. I wonder if this is normal?? I don't think she has a fever.
This morning: I got up a little late after a short night - went to bed too late then was interrupted. Checked on dd15. Put her bedding laundry from last night in the dryer. Called the school to let them know she will be absent. Let dogs out. Am drinking tea. Tried unsuccessfully to find email with location change for tutoring today. . . I believe I remember the building. I do have a phone number.
I packed my tutoring bag last night. I need to feed the dogs, s2s, and head out in about 35 minutes. I'll come home between tutoring and going to the groc. store to check on dd15.

Re: Tuesday Therapy
I get a lot of 'therapy' right here. But I do have friends who make me feel good, just being with them for a while.

(((helia's dd15))) stomach bugs are no fun, to say the least.
It is dance lesson Tuesday around here. I need to run a few errands before I pick dgd4 up at noon from daycare.

I am struggling to get on track this morning. I will get-er-done, but seem to need a longer gear up time. I'll focus on getting the time sensitive cards done and then double back on the schedule and do the other important but not time sensitive cards done. It will probably take me a couple days to fully get back into the schedule groove.
Today is picture day at LO school. They have already taken individual pictures for the school yearbook. These pictures are called "Casual pictures" and are encouraging the children to dress for "a look". You can pick a background to match the theme you are going for. I don't remember having this type of picture taken in school before. Is it something new? They will also be taking group class pictures today. I asked LO what he wanted to wear for his picture today and he said cowboy hat an jeans. No big surprise.
Yesterday I felt a "tiny" bit mean. I packed LO clothes that were outside of his comfort zone of preferred clothes. I took nice set of casual play clothes and shoes. He wore them without complaint however the clothes didn't last 4 hours. He ripped the seat out of the pants while playing. So it was back to his beloved jeans and boots.
Got to get going... BBL

Re: Tuesday Therapy
Good morning, villagers ~
I'm buried under papers.
The project (to clean out the administrative archives of the sewing group from 23 years of different presidents) is, in fact, worse than I originally thought. All I can do is keep my head down and keep slogging through. The reward for the work will be that once this is finally finished, all of these boxes will leave my house forevermore and go live somewhere else!
After this, I get to do the same clean-out for the financial records. I just received those boxes last month. They will be easier, though, since I won't be sorting such a variety of topics such as meeting minutes, event flyers, newsletters, charity requests, official correspondence from the national office, etc. The financial records just need to be purged of duplicate reports and the receipts that are old enough to have become useless.
Also, a quick look makes it appear that the treasurers through the years have been more diligent about keeping the files in order. The boxes I'm working on now have papers from different years jumbled together as well as all the different topics.
My actual new job for the group (treasurer) is going to be a breeze after being president for 4 years. I'm assuming the board meeting will still occur tonight as planned. Our high temp this afternoon will only be 2 or 3, so we'll be subzero for everyone driving to the meeting. However, the few inches of snow we got last night will be cleared by then, so the roads should be ok as long as the crews have treated the slippery corners.
Must grab another cup of coffee and get back to work.

Appreciated hearing what's going on in Lilac's neck of the woods. Must say, how in the world is the real estate market that good, though. Not here, although we understand it's not so bad, either, comparatively. How nice that dd could be a little help to the teacher who is adopting.
Cabbage Patch hats - looks like just take the pigtails off and it's almost recognizable as CP for a boy, too. So funny to HRH and me that he was watching an old Johnny Carson Tonight Show from 1984 when I read that from Cowinkie. Johnny was saying that parents were finding it just as hard to find CP dolls for their children as they had the year before. Not part of the funny monologue, just his observations that night of what was in the news, or on people's minds then.
Friend chats IRL - I'd say, IRL, chats with my dcousinMary are the most like that for me. It's interesting to realize that about her - she is probably the only person with whom I have often cried over the phone. Based on that definition of feeling therapeutic
also interesting to remember tearing up here, some, too!
HRH has come back home and says if dd and I are going out today (we were planning on it) he wants us out and back by early afternoon, since bad weather may hit then. Seeing BookSaver's weather, I know ours will not be as bad. Stay safe, BookSaver!
Our temps are going to drop over a cliff tonight and if we have had a bunch of precipitation I could almost see another 2-hour delay of school in our future. We are looking at 4 straight nights of low low low temps (for us). There seems to be a chance of getting above freezing by a few degrees on Thursday, though, before heading back down for Friday. I hope so. And am grateful that on out to those days we won't have precip.
Lynlee, great good luck to you with your before bedtime routine. Really does make a difference - I need to better mind. Dd15 is working on hers.

Re: Tuesday Therapy
Trying hard to get dh packed for his journey north tomorrow. I know it's going to be frigid and I am more than confident that he will be quite cold up there. Boots are the real question now. I don't think he has any at the RV, but perhaps. Hate spending the $$ on new ones for what may be a short stay, but..... he's sure going to need some up there. Really hoping that perhaps one of the boys will have a pair to fit him.
Of course dh has decided that the suitcase I was packing is too big and wants a smaller one. Now to be able to fit everything in the small one!
Need to call our old neighbors and let them know dh will be up there for a while. Better do that while I'm thinking about it.
Of all days dh had to go to church to try to fix an electrical problem with the heat/AC. He & dsonil have gone up to check it out. Electrician can't get there until this afternoon now (was supposed to come this morning) and we're supposed to be at dbil/dsil by 12:30. Today of all days -but this too will pass.
Think I heard the words: Polar Vortex for the second time round, Harriet.

Re: Tuesday Therapy
Harriet, it is really a seller's market here. There are not enough houses for sale in the $200,000 and up range. So when a really great house comes on the market, it sells within hours or days. It is only going to get worse. We have 5 new businesses being built that are chains. There is not enough housing as it is and when they bring in store manager's for them, it will really be a seller's market.
Dd2 just called. She is home with both dgds and dgd2 is sick. She had talked to the young guy and he gave her his offer. It is $6000 less than the other offer but with the realtor's 3% being $7000, they will still be money ahead. Also, on the off chance it doesn't appraise for that price, they can reduce the price to the appraisal price and won't be losing as much money as they would with that realtor's 3% and having to reduce it. What is funny is that dd2 had called me before she talked to the young man and said if he offers me this, I 'm taking it. That was the exact amount of his offer.
Well I need to get a shower. Then I need to run and take the sign out of the yard for dd2.
