I have done that round of stuff, made the omlette for h 's breakfast he was smiling. Hens are out they were happy as well!

Swished the main bathroom, dishes are done ready to be put away.

Our church has had an offer saw on the news the local co. Fair dept. Has put in an offer. We can still use the bldg. So it is all good.

BookSaver, all I can tell you is the mistake I kept making (like, 4 times ), which was clicking on the title of the thread rather than directly on "select" to its left. Finally dawned on me to select select. And that worked.

New computer came, bringing chaos in its wake. Desk chaos, nerves chaos, various irritable gremlins running around the room causing mischief. Almost there.

Seems whatever "bug" is making my body ache is also affecting LO. He has visited the bathroom about a dozen times during the last several hours. He is on his 4th change of clothes today. He got quiet so I went looking for him..... found he sound asleep. Time, rest and hydration is probably the best medicine for us both.

Phone has been ringing - DMIL, DD, DMom, DDIL all in the chatty mood. Long talks on the phone is not my favorite way to communicate, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Hens came out late here. They chased away the fat squirrel who was eating their feed. . . It looked for a second like the squirrel was going to fight, which is quite cheeky of it considering the feed is for the hens, but Iris stood her ground. He thought better of it and left. I think there are actually 2 squirrels that feed from their feeder; I saw them trading places there once.

Moving slowly - so ironic that the more time I have the less I get done. a.m. routine is mostly done - just need to put fresh sheets on MBR bed. Then, I think I'll head out to Target (some items there I haven't found at other stores) and then pick up some bread for tonight.

I have just realized that I'll likely miss Hebrew class again this week as dd18 will be heading out to her Detroit tutoring gig, dd15 will be at synchro, dh has a deadline Monday, and R works 7 - 7 every day this week. This is a clinical week for him. Otherwise, I was going to get in some translation work today.

Yes, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. You're a wonderful daughter, daughter-in-law, mother, mother-in-law OK.

Trying to cuop... don't really know where I've been the last two days... I've been visiting the village every day, but just didn't have much to say or time to say it, I guess.
Thursday was busy -- I had to get my hair trimmed, plus spent a bit of time with dmom... always interesting...
and Thursday night I caught up on ironing AND the first three episodes of Downton Abbey.
* If I tell y'all how much ironing I did, Harriet will pass out.
* Downton Abbey... ooohhh... WHAT is going to happen between Anna & Mr. Bates??? Ooohhh... I sorta understand why she is afraid to tell him the truth, but ooohhh... soooo sad for him!!!
Friday -- more errands... more time w/dmil -- ds/ddil/dgs -- dmom...

Today, I have done nothing, but I do need to color my hair. I hate coloring my hair.

so ironic that the more time I have the less I get done.

I need to call my dmom and clarify some things re: that dratted truck. DS finally swapped back with her last night. I think she just cannot bear to part with ddad's truck because of sentimental reasons. She was talking about looking for one a little lower in value for ds... but I don't quite understand what she was getting at, b/c ds is NOT going to start making payments again to her or anyone else, as long as his truck is running. If she would not let him borrow hers for long trips that included ddil/dgs/ddog... then they would just have to figure out some way to crowd everything into their little tiny car. But I don't think she is going to say he can't at least borrow her truck. He has had it for about six weeks, and she has definitely not needed a truck of any sort in that length of time. She was afraid his would not start last night.
So that will be a long phone conversation for me, OKay. Talking to dmom is like playing word association. Each sentence leads her on a new tangent. Praying for patience.

Harriet, I did see your comment re: my sand jar. That is the total problem. Not enough sand. As I said, it is in a quart Mason jar, and is mostly shells. I have a layer about as wide as my pinky finger of white Gulf of Mexico sand, and another layer just slightly thicker of Pacific sand... and the rest is shells. I will NEVER be back to the Pacific -- not that I can see -- and cannot imagine when I'll get dh back to the Gulf. Might make it to the Atlantic some day. (He said we had now driven all of I-40 from Memphis to the Pacific, so we should go east on it and travel to Willmington. That will be headed in your direction, wouldn't it?)
But anyway... yeah. The sand jar is sorta a failed experiment, I guess. I wonder how difficult it would be to dip out the two layers and put them in a smaller jar? What would you use to dip? And I'll have to get the shells out without disturbing the sand too much. I don't know WHY I didn't get more sand? Oh well... hindsight's 20-20, right?

Aw, hope LO and OKay feel better.

Big cooking day for me. I didn't intend for it to turn out this long, but it did. I baked or cooked in crock pot a massive amount of chicken, after washing and cutting it up. A lot of work. I cleaned out the freezer, made broth with a turkey carcass, made turkey and chicken gravy. All of it except some for the next couple days is in the freezer. I'm thawing a piece of beef and I'll make a stew for the freezer and then I also have a ham bone I can make some soup (I don't like pea soup but DH does). I might make a couple potato casseroles (they freeze ok) and a batch of chilli, then I'll be done. Will be interesting how long this all will last us! I found some turkey and stuffing to eat in there too.

Poor fingers are dry and curled. I need to do a treatment and put my gloves on.

Have been trying to figure out the music choice of the band that greeted Kathryn's group. Could it be that with the downpour of rain they thought it was clever to choose that particular one? Maybe they know more about iconic movie moments than you would think?

Cooking poultry along with you today, Harmony. Gee, the houses smell nice, don't they?

I have simmered my organic whole chicken on the stove for 2 hours, picked away the meat, and put the bones back in to simmer. This will be my first attempt at bone broth. Anyone hearing about this lately, or know it from family? Ancient way of cooking recently getting lots more interest. The concept is to let the bones continue to simmer in the broth for a day (up to 24 hours if you do it in a crock pot) and the minerals from the bones are released into the broth to get all the nutrition. There are a lot of recipes out there. This one adds coarse chopped carrot, celery, onion and 2 T of cider vinegar. Vinegar is used in bone broth to help extract minerals. This evening I'll transfer to the crock pot and let it go all night, strain in the morning.

lucylee, thank you for sparing me. I was already weak from new-computer sickness and spouses-trying-to-be-patient-with-each-other-itis. Are you all right? Do you need to lie down? Find a fan.

Chicken is so good and house smells wonderful. An odd day as we wait out strange weather.

LOL -- no need for a fan, Harriet... but I was pretty miserable at bedtime, Thursday. A good night's sleep erased all (almost all!) memories of the agony, though.

Did not color hair. Stayed on phone much too long w/dmom. At least 30 minutes of her rambling re: aches/pains/general physical complaints... finally I brought up the subject of the truck and she said NO, of course she did not mind ds using the truck -- as long as he didn't keep it six months at a time, LOL!
Finally hung up. Got started to the shower.
She called back. Did I ever watch Wanted: Dead or Alive? Steve McQueen was on that show. More talk about old tv shows, etc...
Finally -- got my shower.

Also did my daily Bible reading and organized my cards for next week.

Now to look for my eyeshadow which apparently has been discontinued. I found one on amazon for $70. Can y'all believe that??? This is just M aybelline -- nothing exotic. Said it shipped from Thailand. Amazon also had one for $10... but I'd like to do better than that, and I'd like to find more than ONE stick. M aybelline C ool E ffects -- it's kind of a crayon/pencil.

Very strange day here also. Dh left early this morning on his extended road trip to FL clients/friends, and it's been very quiet. I took dMacs to PT and he got a good workout. We've had clouds move in and temp is up around 40 degrees. I need to take ddogs for walk soon before the sun drops.

Suffering again today from intermittent hot water only, although it seems resolved now with the warmer temp. Part way through my shower the hot water went to cold, and I knew that the condensation drain was frozen again. For those who don't remember we have a Rinnai tankless hot water heater, and this happened two weeks ago during the "Polar Vortex" cold. The builder added some insulation to the drain but it still froze up.

I am planning to order pizza for supper for myself....have been reading today and also napped. Going to walk ddogs, then will order pizza....

Supper. Pizza sounds good, Twins. Hmmm...
