Good morning, villagers ~
I am grateful on days like this when I can rearrange my schedule to accomodate bad weather. I had planned to run a bunch of errands today. Unfortunately, not only are temps going to stay well below zero today, we're having lots of wind with gusts up to 30mph which put wind chill at 40 below.
If I were only going to 1 place, I would do it because my car is reliable. With multiple stops, though, one of which is to get groceries that need to be carried from the store to load into the car, then carried from the garage to the house ... nope, I'll wait until tomorrow. It will be just as cold tomorrow, but the wind won't be as bad.
(Editing to add the forecast for tomorrow is just as bad. OK, we'll be eating from the pantry until I can run errands on Wednesday.)
The 1 place I cannot delay today is the post office. I'll warm up the car and go there this afternoon, then come right back home.
This will be a good day to cook a big batch of ground beef with onions for the freezer. Lots of meals can be started with that combo.

Re: Monday
Good morning, Booksaver, all to come. Brrrr....sure sounds like a 'stay in day' to me! It's been raining for quite a while here, but seems to be clearing now.
DD and I spent last evening trying to straighten out our 'fast passes' at Disney for when DS-A & family will be down. For some reason I was enrolled twice so DDIL#2 was unable to get my passes done. Slow rides for me -no roller coasters!! I had planned to watch dgs18 months while they all went on the rides he can't. BUT the consensus is that it's thought DGS might be too much for me to handle.
I can at least try. We'll see. Of course DD can't wait to get her hands on him.
I slept sporadically last night and have been up for some time. Just managed to finish breakfast however. And my coffee's too hot to even sip at this point.
I'm working on our bedroom and made good headway yesterday. Today I'm working on the closet -that may take me a few days. Everything is crammed in there. Not only our stuff, but lots of dd's as well. Going to see how much I can relocate. If I knew for sure GD15's bedroom was going to be vacant for the next couple of years, I'd put some things in her closet. There is a closet in the office that I may be able to reconstruct. That would help.
Sorting my clothes into -Goodwill - too small - sorta too small/pack for up north and hope. Putting all 'paper' things/containers together. That will be my next project here -to get all the paperwork organized, filed, etc. I have plenty of places to file them.
DDil#2 sent a great picture of 3 generations working on a stool last night. Picture of DS-A and dh screwing in some screws and dgs kneeling on the table next to dh with one hand on dh's shoulder and the other with a screwdriver acting like the big help he is!
Hmmm, just realized that screwdriver's in his left hand. DS is definitely a lefty.

I spiffed up the kit. Before bed so the house is not too bad that is a relief. Listening to the weather for this week. We miht have some improvement by the end of the week some moisture this week.
Sorted a box of stuff and got it ready to go in the car for donating. Next I need to get some books to go to the book store.
Hoping K in C is not on the cruise ship with all those ill. That had to end early.

Re: Monday
Good Monday morning! We can make whatever we want of it!
Continuing with the wonderfully quiet week here. I've been up since 8 a.m. or so - read paper, read online a bit and need to get rolling.
Dd and I went to the funeral yesterday - we got there about 45 min early thankfully. Funeral was standing room only - we debated whether to try to get out chairs to add a little room in the rear but in the end people just had to squeeze in somewhere or stand. Line to get in went across the parking lot and few seats left. Very long funeral with several musical selections, and for those who read my members only thread last fall, rabbi did circulated only a little bit before the service.
Afterwards, dd and I went out to eat together instead of staying for the packed to the gills meal. I wanted her to get on the road back to school early anyway. She called about 9:30 to let me know she was there.
Today I need to run a couple of errands and I MUST write something for temple bulletin. Editor guy emailed yesterday to say I only had three to go and that I had submitted 33 so far.
Must get moving...
-wash face, brush teeth, get dressed
-walk dogs (temp is dropping here today)
-clear kitchen counters, breakfast bar and kitchen table
-make the bed
-Li%t for the day

Re: Monday
Good morning! I'm up late after going to bed too late. Read travel books, poked around online, and ended up booking a hotel on Miami Beach. Now, I've looked at trip advisor ratings and it is not the greatest -- but it is on the beach. That seems hard to find. . . Spent a bit more time today poking around. Will resolve later today/tomorrow. Had devo. time and bfast. That's about it.
Dd15 and friend are up. Dh left a while ago.
I'll be putting on my cab driver sign today:
- take dd15 and friend to the high school so she can finish her art final project
- pick up GG from her sleepover
- eventually pick up dd15 and friend
- take dd15's friend home, across town
- take dd15 to synchro practice
- pick up dd15 - maybe someone else could do this
Somehow, I need to also
- run a book to church for fellow teacher to pick up
- other errands while I'm out there? - Tarjay, party store
- Costco while I'm across town at some point
- groc. store? Need to order the cake
- prep guest room for R and J
- some Heb translation work would be great - but not necessary
- go to Heb. class. . .
Off to work on finishing the a.m. routine.

Re: Monday
Nancy, that ship story has brought up debate about what kills norovirus again. I found that so interesting because I had just chatted about how hydrogen peroxide is used against norovirus in last week's Bathrooms FOCUS thread. Now learning from these articles that another thing that turns out does NOT kill norovirus, after all, is hand-sanitizer, so hospitals where the staff prefer hand sanitizer have more cases of norovirus than hospitals where the staff prefer ordinary soap and water (of course they may do just as well or better against viruses, rotovirus, flu, who knows).
Anyway, this ship in the news sailed out of New Jersey, so not Kathryn's, although I'm sure the news story is a topic on board her ship, too. It does make you wonder whether this particular ship's crew was relying on hand-sanitizer, which up to now would be something I would think was fine. But no matter how careful ships' crews are, you still have passengers who are not washing their hands, which is enough to cause this problem in such a contained community.

Re: Monday
Harriet thanks for that info.
Skippable I called to get my p.m. insulin. Sigh they changed stuff again Jan. first so I had to call doc. They have to get the cyber paperwork sorted out again. I think it is okay now.
This happened in Oct. Too.
O. Care ripple effects and we have not even tried to sign up yet hoping they could get this sorted out before hand. /
Glad I called first thing this week. I am not out so that is good.
Some good news h. feet seem to be improving slowly.
Babyn. Will be here in a while.
Breakfast is done.
Bed is made.
Watching a skiier being pulled by a rope with a horse and rider in Idaho a new sport. Think water skiing in the winter!

Re: Monday
Finally finished that round. Used walking (better term would be strolling) with ddogs to try to think about temple bulletin writing...that s/b next on my PODA. I decided to make soup and took some about to freezer burn chicken out to thaw.
This morning OKay posted elsewhere about her outdoor garden plans and got me thinking of spring. I'd really like to have a raised bed for a few tomatoes, peppers, etc.
Gotta get writing...not sure where I'm heading....

Re: Monday
Good Morning!
LO is still home. This stomach bug has his digestive track all out of whack. We are making progress with it being settled down now. Current effort is directed toward getting stomach/gut working again. Hopefully the BRAT (banana, rice, applesauce, toast) food choices will do it without any set-backs.
This week has several hours taken up with caring for others -
** Today - LO plus taking DMIL to her chiropractor appt (DH is doing that for me since LO is sick)
** Tuesday - take DMom to heart doctor - she is going to have a treadmill test too.
** Friday - take DAunt to big city for her knee replacement appt.
when I throw in an all day Master Gardener class on Wednesday, the available hours at home become slim. I need to utilize the time I do have at home or the basic 3D's will slide backwards.
This morning I added labels to a existing shape sorting cube we had to make learning the shape names easier. One of the school goals for LO age group is to know the names of shapes. Some he has down pat (circle, square, diamond, etc), however other shapes are more of a challenge to him as he learns to be familiar with them. (parallelogram, pentagon, hexagon, trapezoid, octagon, etc). LO was eager to try out my modification to the toy and the cube/shapes have been dumped out, named and sorted several times this morning. Hopefully repetition will make a difference in learning all the basic shape names.

Re: Monday
Ahhhhhh! Done with article. I ended up taking something that was shared online within the President's group and excerpting it including sourcing to the online full article. Thank goodness.
Meanwhile, dh called to ck in while I was trying to write and mentioned an item that's not moving forward at the temple....at the last comm meeting the incoming president said he would have an employee of his biz look at it and he hasn't come back to me. I'm really concerned that he's not following through on things. And I couldn't get to sleep last night for going over all the temple stuff that I'm not getting done - through laziness or burn out or lack of support or whatever. I'm in such denial about it all that I can't even seem to get an OMM list going during waking hours, but as soon as I try to go to sleep I'm doing the "monkey mind" with all this stuff swinging from branch to branch. Back and forth.
Last night I finally took 1/2 a benydryl to help get to sleep. Then it's hard to get up in the a.m. And if I nap that makes it even harder to get to sleep at night.
For now I am going to:
-spent a few minutes trying to get down OMM things
-take care of 10 pieces of paper off this desk
-head out for errand run
---groc
---mother's to drop off something
---hob lob
---drop off at goodwill on the way home from dmom's
