Rough night with lots of rocking and rolling. Did not sleep well between my sore throat, worrying about sea sickness (I took ginger and am wearing sea bands), dh's itching from his rash (Benadryl is only working about 4 – 5 hours so he's miserable when it wears off) and the noise of the cabin and outside (the missing bolt in the panel between our balcony and the next is allowing that panel to bang a lot.)

Dd sent her expected bad news so that has my mood matching the grey and windy day outside. Rough seas seem appropriate.

We get into Napier (if we manage to with this wind) at noon. Our tour is 12:30 so I have to eat lunch early. I haven't even s2s or gone up for breakfast yet. Two lectures this morning but we'll skip one, possibly both. I have written the words for Monday's experiences but have to add photos, and do the words and photos for Tuesday.

I've been somewhat productive in between watching the snow come down. We're down to flurries now, but apparently traffic is snarled everywhere because road crews weren't prepared. Soup is going in crock pot and I'll add the rice a little later. I had leftover lasagne from eating out with dd on Sunday night for my lunch. The shoe rack in the closet is assembled and that little clutter corner cleaned out. I've answered and purged emails but don't feel I've done a great job, and I need to do some consultation on the education form I'm trying to fill out for temple. Dh called and we talked and I sent him some snow photos, and I also got a call that the dinner tonight is cancelled! Yes!

Continuing...
-temple online report that needs to be completed
-clean up kitchen after starting soup
-find a home for stuff that came from dh's clutter corner of closet
-fold a lol
-take care of 10 pieces of paper off desk
Be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let every new year find you a better [wo]man. Ben Franklin

Docs. Office called they can't seem to get the cyber paper work snfu untangled very effectively sigh so wanted mevto come in asap. So doc. Could give me meds. BUT when I explained I wasn't out could wait a bit and it was not an emergency just moved it up a couple of weeks just in case they have not resolved that issue. So grateful that it has not been upsetting for me and that I have the foresight to have meds. Ahead for this.

Dgd helped to mix up cookies with the spring colored. ch. Chip mix in them the kitchen smells wonderful.

Ivy's computer will be back, hopefully along with her usual connection to us, on Friday. But in the meantime she sent an update on her corner of the village.

"It's "Terrific Tuesday" at my house on my display index card on the eating bar with cards, FOCUS cards, etc.... I have called in a prescription, told the nurse how appreciative I am she's there to do this and have a nice day. When the USP man came, I complimented him on a job well done, told him they work so hard and I appreciated him, too. It never hurts to let others know how you appreciate them- even a DH or child, big or small, or friend, etc....

I set my timer for 60 min., get up, click "go" on the timer, do things, then click it "off" to sit and rest. Trying to change the monotony up without my laptop and do routines a bit more "interesting". Also, I will crochet my dementia friend a scrubbie, myself 2 scrubbies and a Seahawks colors striped hat. I need to wash my Seahawks blue sweat bottoms, I need to pry them off me, so I will wash them Thurs. with DH's jeans.

Rain's on the way! My heart goes out to you in ice/snow and in the areas that are freezing. I don't know what it's like, although I've lived through a couple of ice storms here, in WA, and we had 32" of snow one Christmastime.

I'm sorry the boards are quiet this morning. Wish I was there to "liven" things up!!!! I think of you all daily, peek at posts on and off. Go Girls, Go!

Have a super-duper day and Harriet, thanks for letting me email you my news to get to the Village, too. You have a wonderful day, too.

Warmly, Ivy"

Hi everyone! I made it out of bed in time for art class. Water dragon for DD11's 12th birthday is coming nicely. I am supposed to look for frames at places like yard sales and Goodwill. Ate a lunch afterward that did not agree with me. I should know by now - lay off the French fries! I did not get to crochet with the Doctor last night. Ended up eating then going to bed.

Today's ToDos:
art class (done)
lunch (done)
resume (will start this after post)
fundraiser
upload some files
make sure I have filed for unemployment last week
print resumes for tomorrow's job fair
pay bills
commission crochet

OMM: password organize, homeowners insurance homework, general cleanup.

Of course, today is Girls' Night Out with DD11, so there will be some interruption. We will probably eat Chinese and work on making her stuffed owl.

I am off to throw a resume to the winds! See ya!

Back from taking DMom to her treadmill test. It was done at the heart doc office and took almost 2 hours to complete. We also made a quick trip to WM to buy several items on DMom and my lists.

Dee - I hope this interview turns out well for you DSonIL

((((K & K)))) thoughts and prayers your way as you grieve and support your DD.

Our DSon has a job interview today. It is the first time he has submitted a resume in 13 years. He is happy where he works now but is intrigued with the possibilities. He is doing it almost as a farce. The "carrot" held out in front of him was being told the sign on bonus would be enough to pay for his new home......

Good News! LO is starting to feel better. His energy level is soaring back to normal and his non-stop talking has returned. YES!

Next up -
** call DAunt and make plans for later this week
** prep for tomorrow class

Traveling about the web without meaning to... ..finding organization... ..

blessedw2's post in Office FOCUS thread here yesterday got me to thinking about use of time and how to track it.

I remembered an A-4 (small planner size) printable that I had once seen that allowed you to use a number 2 pencil to "bubble in" (like on standardized tests) 15-minute segments of time spent on a number of projects at the same, keeping track of how much you'd done on each. So off I went, not able to remember name of creator or his website. :? After a lot of word-association and "images" scanning, I lit upon the three search words, "time, tracking, sheet". There among a hundred images was one I could recognize, from Tomer Tishgarten's site, All That I Know.

Tishgarten gives a recommendation and link to David Seah, "The Printable CEO". Anyone know/remember him? His motto, (I'm copying this from top of the page - his words!)
"TO-DO lists suck! Track your progress instead with an I DID list." :| See... ... I'm not even commenting. :)

I like the "Task Progress Tracker" printable I linked (printable pages to the left include A-4 and letter sizes and a "destructomatic" version where the bubbles look like bullet holes instead, if you're really getting mad at your project. Tishgarten likes the "Emergent Task" printable, which is similar, and keeps things simpler, even down to only 3 tasks per day. Both free to print, but even if you wanted 365 days of the Emergent Task, it's only $9.

And then... .. and then... .. (drumroll) ... .. for me, the one to drool over, Seah now has free printable 3x5 size downloads of his simplest one, Concrete Task Planner, AND free printable download to work with the PocketMod. These, including editable ones, are down the right side of this page.

But not to end my web travels too early, moving on to decluttering... ..

A fun thing Seah says he's doing lately is following "The Minimalists" in their game of throwing away the number of items of the date of the month per day. In other words, 1 thing on the first, 2 things on the second, and seeing how far you can go. Seah is very honestly showing in photos how he is managing this by counting some things an old house guest left, too. Funny.
