Good Morning!

I'm away from home for most of today attending Master Gardener class.

3D status -
** Dishes - There are a few dirty dishes. I'll take care of them with the breakfast dishes
** Duds - The laundry is caught up with the last load tumbling in the dryer now.
** Dinner - Lunch & dinner is ready to pull out of refrigerator, heat and serve. tuna salad and Honey BBQ chicken wings, green salads, carrots, beans

LO has made it through 24 hours without being sick to stomach. He is ready to return to school. My class is held an hour drive away so I asked DH if he could remain close by today just in case the school calls.

I agree, Okay. Any blessing, no matter how small, is just that -a wonderful blessing -making a wonderful day. Today that is just getting up and being able to walk. (My knees woke me at 4:55 and I've been awake ever since, rubbing, taking acetaminophen and waiting for the blessing of feeling better. Think I can now.

I'm s2s, bed made and meds taken. Now for a cup of coffee and a bit of breakfast. I've put on capris but am thinking jeans may be in order. Certainly not as cold here as north but think it's going to be too cool for summer wear. Think I'll just stay around home for the day. Have supplies to make goulash for dinner. DD said she'd be quite late, so if I make that she can just heat a plate for herself when she gets home.

Thank you for the positive start, OK. It reminds me of "the day of small things" in Zechariah -- which we are not too despise. Yes, no blessing is too small to not be wonderful.

Speaking of small blessings. . . .I'd forgotten how a baby takes up your day. I didn't get much done besides baby care yesterday. I did get to the groc. store so we could eat something last night - and I ordered the cake, just 1/2 sheet even though I think there will be over 40 people here. I need to go back today.

I am hoping to get back to WW this morning. I don't want to b/c I've gained -- but I need to. That is the only way I'll lose. I need to leave in about 30 minutes. Will need to do baby care before I go. She is still sleeping. I need to drop her off at the day care center en route since the base to her car seat is in my car.

Hoping to get to:
- WW
- party store
- Tarjay
- Groc. store
- laundry catch up
- house cleaning, maybe clean the sofa, straighten out and dust book shelves (4 in living areas - 6 if you include small built in shelves that we use for books by the fireplace), maybe bathroom deeper cleaning. ..
- supper will be red beans and rice, corn bread, salad - or brussel sprouts

Watching a beautiful lemon sunrise over the mountains this morning.

I'm going to find something to throw in the crockpot today and then we are going to head out on a road trip. We have a couple of goals. 1) Visit to the local shelter as we continue our quest for a dog and 2) visit the RV -park where we might park this summer instead of traveling.

Yesterday, I had a blood draw and then we visited the Wickenburg shelter. They had lots of dogs but most were too young - too much energy. We are looking for a medium sized Senior dog. Border collie size and one that will go for a walk but then be content to snooze with us later in the day.

My order from A mazon came yesterday. I nifty little wrist BP cuff. Battery operated and so easy to use. Much better than then arm ones with a huge pump and reader. This is about the size of my fist and works like a charm. It even comes in its own little case. Now I can read my BS and BP and log them with no hassle.

We have rain here it is wonderful b/c we need it and it is not the white stuff.

H. Turned on the hens light for me I got to sleep in an extra half hour of sleep.

Nancy, I put on the weather channel to see just how bad it all got last night. Thanks for the reminder. We are grey here, has rained a bit this morning. Still in the 60's. Glad I'm not up in the Panhandle.

Trying to think about why my Wednesday is wonderful. Oh, I guess it would be the pile of paperwork I got done and sent DH out the door with, told him he could climb down off my back now.....he's been really stressing about getting this stuff submitted. Had to call ins. co. they dropped the ball AGAIN which they do almost every year by not sending out certificates on time...had words with them (why do I have to call for this every year). Not happy he tried to say it'd been done...ah no, nobody has received and I have not received verification...and ah no, they wouldn't have done it when he said because I hadn't paid them yet! Not stupid, not born yesterday... sorry rant over.

LOL spinning.

Now what can I do to stay busy... trying not to worry about DH with latest message from doctor.

I'm watching ATL TV online - they are still gridlocked and roads mostly impassable. I have an ATL acquaintance who spent the night at a Waffle house and another that just got off I-285 and had been stuck overnight and still needs to get back to here. Ds emailed yesterday that he didn't take his suit back to school and didn't have it for a job fair. I also found his winter coat in his closet when I checked for his suit, so I will probably make an ATL trip later in the week for him. At least GA Tech is closed today.

I need to go back and look at Harriet's links from last night - online this morning I saw another reference to Seah's blog.

Have been up since 7:30ish but mostly nonproductive. Some of a.m. routine done along the way. Temp is 12 degrees here, I am hoping hot water is okay but will try to keep shower quick quick. (For those who don't remember, the condensation drain going outside has been freezing up - need to figure out with builder what the fix is.)

Just set up a phone appointment at 1 p.m. so I should get moving....
-try to s2s quickly!
-sort the bag of dirty clothes that belong to dd and start a lol
-review for phone meeting
-do 15 minute of linen closet straighten up/purge upstairs
-make labels for pantry baskets

MT, can you post a link to your BP monitor? I need to get a new one for my mom that is easier to use....

Good morning all. I've been watching the weather and feel so bad for all those in the midst of this winter storm. It has been cool and cloudy the last couple of days; we had rain overnight Mon. night and yesterday afternoon and evening with more forecast for today also. We haven't had as cool a winter like this for quite a few years.

I'm glad for the positive thoughts and start to today's theme -- thanks to OKay!

Saturday dfam#1 came and Sunday dfam#2 was here. Saturday we had roasted two large chickens and we had enough mashed potatoes and green beans left for Sunday's dinner along with some corn on the cob. Yesterday dh cooked the bones and made a large pot of chicken soup, 1/2 with rice and 1/2 with thin noodles. Tasted really good! Harmony, your meals sound so good.

I spent most of yesterday resting as I had wakened with a slight headache and my tummy felt sore and tender. I went to bed early and slept good, so I'm feeling better this morning. Woke up earlier than normal this morning and got the kitchen neat and clean, a lol done and general pupa done. Dh is making banana pancakes for our lunch now. I feel like I still want to take it easy today, so will putter with little things; maybe do a couple of pieces from my pile of mending and going through some old magazines. Those I can do sitting down. I also have a written letter to finish and I can be quite happy browsing through our Village! In fact, I want to look up Harriet's links from yesterday. Oh, I also have some research to do on internet. Guess there's plenty to keep me busy!

I'll be thinking of everyone I know from here and those who just read that are in the middle of this winter weather, not only in the eastern U.S., but all over the country. I've been watching the weather channel (we have Brighthouse, not DirectTV) and it seems to me that most of the vehicles caught in the Atlanta traffic jam is semi trucks!

Thank you so much for the concern. We are cozy and tight with electricity fine. The reports from many places are sobering, yes. The problem is the slickness, of course. If only it were good ole fluffy snow, we'd not worry much. But surfaces are dangerous. Right here we are blessed that what fell was a particular blend of " icy mix" that didn't drag tree limbs and power lines down. But obviously I didn't need to pick up that extra vanilla and sugar, because you couldn't make snowcream out of what fell.

For the first time ever, we received an automated call last evening from our county government, telling us that our police and fire departments were asking everyone to stay at home. We've often heard that on the news, for instance, but for everyone to get a personal(ish) call was unheard-of. It even gave brief driving tips, in case of sliding on roads. We have no intention of going anywhere and are grateful for the sun, which might have a chance of changing some surface dangers.
