“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” ― Maya Angelou
I think this quote appeals to me because I am always tweaking the SHE cards. I use the cards and do the best I can, then tweak tweak tweak and they become better. Rinse and repeat.
I am thrilled to have a day at home. I did enjoy sleeping in an hour this morning so it feels a little like a vacation or a Saturday. However I don't want to squander the day so want to stay on track as much as possible.

Good morning, Okay and all who will follow me to the village this am.
After dd2 dropped the boys off at my house this am, she called. Her dh went back to the farm at 11 last night and is still out there. It is calving season for him and he is wore out. I am glad that I can spend the day down at the shop cleaning. The more I can get done, the easier it will be for them tomorrow. He will have to come to the shop and haul the small freezer and misc. other things home, at some point.
LO delivered to school. I had an informal quick Parent/Teacher meeting with LO teacher about the homework. No resolution. She instantly spoke the concerns when I mentioned the homework assignments. She knew about the mistakes on homework pages and responded with "I don't make those papers up". I'm not happy about her knowledge of the mistakes and leaving the parents to wonder what is going on......but this isn't a battle that I'm willing to fight.....yet. She is aware of and acknowledged the mistakes so I'm going to let it go.

Had a great night with the new dog. She snored in the crate on my left all night and DH snored in bed on my right. Too bad they couldn't harmonize.
We have been on a potty walk to the back yard and now we will do breakfast and then go for our walk. I need some food as BS was down to 88 this morning.

Love the theme of the day, especially relating to cards! I am tweaking right now and posting in Cardfile Central about that. Finally got this computer to work with our printer, and want to try printing out some time-tracking onto cards.
OKay, then this is a curriculum error and complaints would be directed to whoever purchases for your system. Principal could be asked to direct a complaint to the right person - likely a superintendent of..something... maybe of elementary education. For poor editing to appear in the elementary math curriculum, that's a biggie. Of, if teacher is using these papers instead of better ones, then question to principal would be why? Money, lack of resources.. ... ? I'm assuming teacher didn't realize the error until a parent called attention to it. If she knew and sent the papers home anyway, that is discouraging to young children.
Thrilled to hear about Dakota finding such excellent people.
Well, I have to Call the Man. My washing machine started making harsh noises during the spin cycle and a non-organic odor also started up. Sigh.
Dd34 gratefully reports they are out of school another day there, including her college, which goes along with the school system decisions. I'm so grateful she can just keep the boys in another day, and doesn't even have to make arrangements for their care while she goes in. I'm sure she would be weary shuttling about on iffy roads, with her many responsibilities and pregnancy as well. I think it was a harder decision here, but our schools are out, too. There will be makeup days on the 17th and 18th of February.
For FL it is nasty out there. Rain & cold. I may just stay in until this evening. Meeting dd for Trivia about 7:30. DSonil will take me so we don't have 2 cars there & so I won't have to drive after dark. Try not to do that as often as possible. Especially around here. Up home it's deer and down here it's bikes (and walkers). So hard to see when they don't have light clothing or lights of any sort.
DD had 'family therapy' yesterday and seems gd15 has been appointed a new therapist. Much younger by the sound. First thing from gd was "let's get some passes going here". She has only had 1 -2 hour pass since she went there in October. Therapist commented on this. DD pointed out that so far gd has done nothing to earn a pass. I can see dd getting very tired of all of it but she hangs in there. Then she got a call at 9pm stating gd had been in a verbal altercation which escalated to her punching another girl in the face. The scary thing about all this is that someday it's going to end up not just being a punch, but real injury. Then what? we wonder. This is not the environment she was raised in or anything like it. Though she was beginning to hit and punch at home and we suspect some of her peers.
I hate to go out but I do need to get our health insurance payment mailed out. I contacted them yesterday to see if perhaps we could have the billing emailed. They don't have that capability as yet. Really? In today's technological age? So will just send it in and hope it gets credited without a physical bill. Going to see if dniece can help me with our choices next year. Guess that's her area of expertise. To get B Choice instead of P referred C are is a difference of about $140/month. I was just afraid to make the switch this year.
Guess I'll put on my jeans, dress warm and venture out.
MT so glad you found a new friends... She sounds perfect. I sleep with two dogs.... Not in my bed... And Sweetie. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and ALL are snoring
My area has a new LDS ...Mormon.. Temple that was just build. It is open to the public for a month. That's a really big deal around here. You had to call and make reservations to view it. More than a half a million people will pass through it in less than a month. Norma went on Tue. I am going with two of my friends, one a Mormon, so I feel like I will get my own personal tour.
Today will be another record high of 80*. I'm glad I'm going to my moms to enjoy some winter weather.
Off to start my morning... One more cup of coffee still needed. Enjoy your day. Cya'll later
