Hi all, it is dinner on Wednesday for me, so I thought I'd start this thread and wish you all a wonderful day!

By the time we had met up with ds and taken him on a tour of the ship, I had over 3 miles on my pedometer. Then our day started!

We had a great day with ds.

He wanted to share his favourite, happy places with us so took us to Coogee beach and had us walk over 6 miles along the ocean cliff path, past 5 beaches, to Bondi. We had to stop half way for lunch. In total, we were gone 6 hours but that includes the bus ride from Circular Quay, lunch, and ice cream at Bondi when we finally got there. I'm exhausted and sore.

Tomorrow he'll meet us at 9 and we'll head back to his place to drop the baggage and then to explore his Sydney haunts.

He's got a plan for the rest of his trip. I asked how much money he has left and it is just $100. Talk about waiting for us to show up!!!

I'm so excited that you are in Sydney, and having 2 on one time with ds. I have loved your travel log. Sounds like ds knows the value of walking, and has been counting down the days and hours to see you also.

Managed 2 lots of gardening today - weeding under a shrub has added difficulty.

I was discharged from physio at hospital orthopedic physio screening clinic today. Told to keep up with yoga and tai chi, and exercise I'm doing. Getting frozen shoulder completely free trumps torn tendon. I was told it could take rest of this year or 2 years to see how it goes.

Managed to do a little PU, and cleaning - swept bth r and counter today.

Kathryn, I think it made us all smile yesterday to think of your ds heading toward the ship at a run.

Elizabeth, hope your timeline works out well for you today. Shall we all shout at 10:30? ducking and running.

Emptynester, thanks so much for checking in with us even though it took extra effort - so odd. I knew you weren't one with scary weather, but am very glad to see you check in. Poor puppy - hope she likes the vet. Sounds like the possibility of the other person being elected moderator was very slim and it's certainly not your concern that that didn't happen for her. Still, hope the fence mending is not difficult. Others see your capabilities and hope you will serve - that's very natural.

Lynlee, congratulations on impressing the physio folks enough that they would discharge! You are so good at keeping up with your yoga, etc., that I'm sure you'll continue to improve.

Time for school run here, and then I'll be getting ready for the repairman.
Also have the trash pickup and recyclables pickup this morning.
Happily, I did finally get that call-back yesterday, so just waiting on the mail now for tax stuff.

The big bad snow storm has turned out to be not so big or bad. We got maybe 2 or 3 inches. It is still snowing. Schools are in session; our district is known for being pretty stringent with qualifications for a snow day. I think our school district doesn't have many rural students, but today, even neighboring villages' schools seem to be in session.

Yes, Harriet, my family lived in NZ on sabbatical for a year when I was 6 years old. I have good memories of that year!

Enjoy time with ds, Kathryn and Ken! We're all thrilled for you! I am still seeing places you're talking about in my mind. We went to Bondi beach with dfriends during our sabbatical visit to Sydney and went hiking in the cliffs overlooking the ocean. There were some massive spiders and webs in the shrubbery along the path at that time. Hopefully, they're gone now.

Hmmm.... if I skip WW, which I'm inclined to do, I don't have to be anywhere at any time today. . . Is that really possible? Dd15 will need transportation to and from synchro practice tonight. I need to use my day well.

Lynlee, I think what we call creeping charlie here is different - I googled it and recognize the weed but didn't know a name for it here. I often pick a leaf thinking it is mint, and it is a member of the mint family.

So glad the Ken, Kathryn and ds are all together! What fun you will have exploring!

I have to be out of the house soon for dental appt at the TMJ dentist. After that will run two errands that got missed the other day, and then work at home today. I did get through a fair amount of paper yesterday when I got rolling late in the afternoon. Dh came home early and we had a reservation for dinner at a nice place - we shared an appetizer, salad and amazing little gourmet pizza.

Helia, I have hopes of getting back to WW at 5:30 today.

Got up about 6:20 & went back to bed. Evidently I still needed it as I slept sound until dh called me at 8:20! I was pretty groggy but got through the phone call. NOw I'm s2s and ready for breakfast. He wanted to let me know that dcampowner called him this morning to tell him his Ddad had passed this morning. He will surely be missed at the campground. You would inevitably find him on a piece of heavy equipment or a mower almost every day. He had a mild stroke a few weeks ago, but dh did say after visiting him a few days ago that he seemed to have given up. (And of course he doesn't have his suit with him, I'm thinking. Oh well, dress clothes will have to do. I WILL find him a sports coat to leave up there!)

It's not nice up there today and a lot of schools are closed. Dh said it hadn't quite reached them as yet. Know they're all pretty tired of this winter. But sure ds-A's bank account is liking it.

Guess breakfast is calling me. BBL. Have an appointment for a haircut this afternoon. Then a party for dbil's birthday tonight.

Good Morning!

So glad to see K&K meeting up with DSon.

We are cold today = currently -5 degrees windchill. The cold made it a long two minute wait standing outside this morning while for the bus ride.

Today is all-day Master Gardener class for me. Today's focus is learning to graft trees. That is not something I am interested in doing but I am eager to learn. Who know....it might want to try it after a learn a bit about it.

3D status -
** Dishes are done. sink is shiny. Kitchen is in MM.
** Duds are caught up. everything put away.
** Dinner is planned and prep'd.

Today's meals -
B: Breakfast cookies, OJ, Milk
L: Beans & salad (DH will have his choice of leftovers - tuna salad, taco ingredients, pork steak, mashed pot, etc)
D: Fried potatoes and smoked sausages

I am up 15* out feels like 2* according to the weather guy. 18* for out hi. Temp. Hens are fine some slept outside 8-10.

I am waiting to for the Seahawks parade with my green on!

Good morning, villagers ~
Yesterday was spent with tunnel vision trying to finish phase 1 of the sewing group file archives project. Did not quite finish because several of the 3-ring binders someone gave me for the purpose did not work. That took just enough time scrounging around the house looking for others that I ran out of time. If the new president had not called an emergency-meeting-before-the-main-meeting (for something that turned out to be totally NOT even remotely like an emergency ) I would have been able to finish, but oh well. I'm almost there, only 1-2 more hours.

New sewing group president insisted on holding the meeting last night in spite of a winter storm causing really bad driving conditions. I didn't want to go, but I'm trying to be supportive so I braved the blowing snow and slippery roads. Attendance: 11 (out of 75 members), including 5 of us who admitted to only coming because we're on the board. Now was that really worth the risk of potentially sliding into the ditch on the drive home?

Don't mean to sound so crabby. I did have fun chatting with those friends, and enjoyed the view from the other side of the microphone. One of the gals showed a very clever tip that I want to try soon, and she also brought a butcher-style apron she'd made from a man's shirt she bought at Goodwill. She is going on a church mission trip to teach sewing to women somewhere in South America. She doesn't know the language so is having to come up with projects that will be easy to demonstrate.

All I had time to eat yesterday was a small breakfast bar in the morning, a bowl of veggies in the afternoon, and for supper another breakfast bar eaten in the car on the way to the meeting. Lots of water, and coffee with milk throughout the day. Today I'm starving, have already cooked and eaten 2 eggs with a little bit of ham and a piece of toast with strawberry jam. Planning a good sandwich turkey with lots of lettuce for lunch, and will cook something in a skillet tonight with ground beef and Rotel tomatoes.

Other plans for today involve
* cuop
* Financial report for library group, must proofread the numbers from January and send out today
* Read 2 magazines borrowed from the library, due tomorrow
* Nap with the calico cat
* Write a short note to accompany a bill payment
* Go to the post office to mail bills and pick up a package
* Watch episodes of The Monkees Season 1, dvds borrowed from the library & also due back tomorrow.
