I suspect many of you might have time for musings since the weather will limit what you can do.
Our weather here also kept us quiet on Monday. It was clearing but more fog moved in. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
It is 11 p.m. on Monday so I'll head off to be now and muse a bit more during Tuesday morning.
BTW: Lynlee, I'm 3 hours ahead of you because of summer time. At dinner we were talking about how nice it is to be ahead of everyone when one is in New Zealand. Dh in particular is finding it relaxing.

dishes are washed, kitchen is closed.
walked 3k
weeding - there is a monster tangle of creeper, and found a monster stem and root set. there is palm fronds and seed /flower stem tangles tied up in the fence weed interweave. tomorrow I'll just go in pulling as much as I can. digging bits can wait. Hoping I don't just break the rooted bit off. I expect lots of regrowth.
redid an area cleared some weeks ago - there was a number regrown. I have to keep going back. wheely bin is squished full of weed this week. room for another lot tomorrow - then bin day.
My "green door" is installed. Desperately it needs undercoating and a decision on a colour. Door had been incorrectly priced in store. Workman called the store who had to keep to the shown price.. Solid core was meant to be $100 more. He said he had quoted price to me and they covered it.

Good morning, Kathryn - afternoon by now! Relaxing after an exciting cruise sounds great.
Lynlee, that's great you had an advocate in the workman who kept your price from going up. Door sounds ideal. Glad you will see who is knocking there now. A young man in Georgia discovered a way to keep continually-returning nuisance plant kudzu back. He injects the soil at the root with helium. There are different opinions why it works. I have my doubts because if it worked in other areas everybody would be doing it. I wonder if he just found weakened plants, but hope it could be true.
Should have mentioned Mr. DeeClutter yesterday as one who has weather frustrations, I'm sure. Our forecast moved forward with snow or some precip beginning as early as tonight.

No extreme weather events in our forecast. Probably no time for musings today either, except for musings on Hebrew translation. It is one of those days - one of those weeks.
Dh says dfil has been reporting a very mild winter in NL during their Sunday morning chats. Don't know if that is all of Europe or not but I'm glad not everyone is experiencing the same sort of winter we are, though dh is gleefully loving this winter! Tomorrow will be cold (-5F to 15F) but then temps are warming up and we should be above freezing next week! I'm looking ahead thinking of the hens and the fact we won't be here to close/open the door at night/morning if it gets super cold. Also, there is a forecast for ice one day, and if electricity goes out, so will the hens water-heater (to keep water unfrozen) and heatlamp. . . . We'll have friends check in on the critters (not the dogs) twice next week. The cat, hens, g. pigs are pretty self-sufficient - other than the cold night temps and the hens.
Today - chopped up into bits:
- a.m. routine
- uniform returns 10:45 - 12:30
- uniform returns 2:30 - 3:45
- dd15 back to school before 5
- Hebrew class 5:05 - 6:05 (more like 6:15 in reality)
- do Heb. translation work in between
- pick up dd15 at 7:45
- finalize some vacation plans - still need to switch hotels for one night

Concerned for Harriet & Lucylee with dangerous winter precip mix. I've never seen an "icy roof" graphic. Weather forecasters must have made that up new to give themselves a little variety, eh?
Lynlee ~ I read somewhere that pouring straight vinegar on weeds sometimes works to kill them, don't know if that would help you with those deep roots.
We got some more inches of snow yesterday morning so I had to shovel my driveway in the afternoon. Glad I did that yesterday as today we are much colder again. The drive needed to be cleared so I can get out later tonight.
Today I will finish a variety of desk day tasks while catching up on laundry chores.
I'll be attending a meeting tonight for the library, which they decided to hold at a bar instead of the library.
I've never been in the bar so don't know how drafty the building will be. Must wash my hair early enough this afternoon to be sure it will totally dry before I leave the house. (I don't have to worry about that when going to the library, as that building is always overly warm.)
Still trying to finish that
archived file project for the sewing group. Ran into a snag of missing documents, so I set it aside for a few days. I'm going to make 1 run through the Treasurer's files to see if the reports are there. If they are, I can use my lovely multi-function printer to copy them. (I'm still in love with this new machine!) If I don't find the reports in the Treasurer's box, I'll call the President's archives project done and move on.
The recycle bin will be full when it goes to the curb Wednesday night, and that always makes me happy. Unfortunately, I can't take full credit this time because it is still 1/3 full from last week. DH offered to take out the trash/recycling last week. Instead of transferring the recycling from the indoors cardboard box to the outdoors plastic bin (which I'd told him already had stuff in it), he set the cardboard box on the curb. We're lucky the men took it, usually they're very picky about things needing to be in the proper bins. Anyway, when I asked him about it, DH said he couldn't find the recycle bin (right next to the trash bin that he carried out), so I suspect the everlasting cold is getting to him, too.

I forgot - dd15 has orchestra practice, starting in the middle of synchro practice, so I think I'll be picking her up later, maybe 8:30 or so? That means she'll be at the school from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 pm today, with maybe one hour at home - if she also helps with uniform returns after school, as she is talking about. I might discourage her from that. I think I will - I do have a parent coming in to help. Tomorrow will be similar for her; she'll be at the school from 7:30 a.m. - 9 pm/ish straight. I think she is not planning on coming home before her synchro meet; she needs to be at the school prepping for that at 4:30 tomorrow.
