Back to Normal, whatever that is for each of us! It's been a long weekend with the added holiday, and here, schools were out from Tuesday on last week.

For me, I kind of checked out with the snow day last week, then the trip to see dsis, then the purse/car anguish and holiday yesterday.

Today is back to Normal-land, where ever we find it.

I need to make sure that today is productive and that I'm getting back to "normal" and getting things. Yesterday afternoon I ended up just reading a book. Had taken it with me while getting the car window fixed and when I finally got home I just settled in to read.

I got the key to dsis' house back yesterday and set up an appt at 10 a.m. to get the rest of the stuff hauled off today. I also need to get the PODA going...

-temple biz
-get stuff picked up at dsis' house
-get a new key made for her house
-go get a new drivers license this afternoon (I don't know what ID will be required, I pulled out my certified birth certificate, passport and SS card
-what else?

Still struggling with Windows 8. I keep touching the keypad the wrong way and changing the zoom - from bigger to smaller to bigger again. I just figured out how to change the keypad/mouse speed and I slowed it down. Maybe that will help.

Good Morning!

My day is off to a good start and following time slot schedule. I am overwhelmed from the past couple of days and need some time to just do normal stuff. It feels very comforting to just follow the plan and not think too much..

I didn't get it done last night so this morning I went through LO Monday folder and got this past week papers reviewed and paperwork for upcoming activities filled out and money gathered. Upcoming field trip, signup for T-ball, ordering tee shirts, etc.

I pulled some apple/pecan muffins out of the freezer so Breakfast prep was easy today. I've also s2s, completed personal grooming cards, exercised, taken care of furkids needs for the day.

Next up -
** LO up, snuggled, his AM cards monitored and then walk him to the road to meet the bus.
** laundry - yesterday laundry is in the dryer now. Today's load is waiting its turn
** Kitchen to MM

I am up, s2s-ed, checked on the girls - who were not up, except for GG. We're planning to be packed, have bfast (food in the girls' room) and check out in 45 minutes. Airboat tour appt. at 10:30.

Our credit card was still blocked yesterday, even after dh called the co. Monday night and told them to unblock it. I'm somewhat irritated; this is pretty much my only cc and this is inconvenient, esp. considering the number of reservations I have on it. Dh didn't call last night b/c it took so long last time. He's planning to call during our drive today.

My tummy is off. I'm just having a banana and some water for bfast today.

Twins, I don't know if this is applicable to your state or not, but here they really push bringing a utility bill with your address on it, to prove that you indeed live where you say you do. Especially if you have moved since you last renewed your license.

Here it is dance day, again.

The trip to get the prom dress was successful. Dgd17 wanted a dress with straps but all of them showed cleavage. Dd2 said that ironically the strapless dresses were more modest. Her dress will need some alterations.

I have been taking it easy the last 2 days. Sunday I woke up feeling like I was on the verge of a cold. Yesterday I woke up just feeling yucky. Today I feel so-so.

While I have been taking it easy, I have been watching the first 2 seasons of "Downton Abbey". I still have to watch season 3, but I need to get something done. I am really hooked on that show.

Today I need to get some groceries bought.

Last Friday afternoon, after getting everything moved back home, I told dd2 that I would wipe out the kitchen cabinets and mop the kitchen/dining room of that house. They are suppose to close on Friday. When that happens that house will have been closed on, on Nov. 8 and the basement level finished. Then it was resold and closed on again, in 3 months, 13 days. Dd2 had moved things in that belonged in the kitchen cabinets. Then after the contractor made such a mess and the drywall dust sifted into them, I had cleaned all of the cabinets up again, except the ones that dd2 had used. I had intended to clean them up before they moved in and when that didn't happen I waited. Now I can clean the dusty, empty ones and be done. I would not have spent all the time cleaning that I did, if I had known they would not move in.

I am hoping that when Harmony gets to the hospital today, she will find her dh with the pain under control. That is so hard to watch and such a helpless feeling, to watch someone in such excruciating pain.

Our weather has been in the 60's for several days and will be for a few more. But it has been so windy that it still feels chilly.

Guess I better have breakfast, do meds, shower, etc.

Lilac, I had thought about a utility bill but I had updated my license to the new address after we moved. In addition, I have my passport with a photo and the current address so I hope I am good!

Haven't cuop yet -maybe this afternoon. Still have to eat and go do some grocery shopping for dd. She will be going to Orlando tomorrow with 20 middle schoolers for TSA (Technology Student Assoc) for state competition. We got in just before 10pm yesterday from being with DS-A. I truly felt I had been on vacation. Had such a great time being with DS, DDIL and our 3 DGKs. Absolutely love those teens. DGS18mo. was very entertaining and was able to bond more with both dd and myself. What fun! Think we made all four parks in this past week. I walked a LOT -16,000, 13,000, 13,000 steps in the last 3 days. Now if I could even make the 10,000 a day I'd be very happy. Definitely felt like a vacation!

Going over to see dsisil this afternoon. Haven't even been out of my room yet. Going in a minute to get coffee and some breakfast. I'll be bbl. Have a great day everyone.

Oh, I looooove Normal-land. And am happy to report, living in it this a.m. School run successful, even getting dd to have a traditional breakfast, and Morning Daily Card done well.

When I saw Twins' Mom's title this morning, ya'll know I smiled. When I saw her use the word, "anguish", I had a little but not much, because these are only things, right? (Of course, ask me how I feel when I can't find my pocketbook... ... while trying to be strong... ... )

Oh, well, Normalcy still shows up with the morning, all optimistic and tickled to be here!

Nancy and helia (and all lovers of small creatures), have you seen P. Allen Smith's chicken pinterest page? Delightful - thanks, Nancy for reminding me P. Allen Smith is so funny and loves chickens. I've seen almost none of these photos and videos anywhere else. I thought of helia's dh when I saw there the photo he titled, "If M. C, Escher built a chicken coop". And I have immediately sent along the video, "Why can't more car commercials be like this?" to my whole family - rare for me. Thought of Lynlee when I saw, "Chook Opera House".

Hope Harmony might get to see this link at hospital today - she would smile at some of these ... ... or perhaps roll her eyes.

Good morning, villagers ~

I wouldn't let myself post yesterday until I finished Phase 1 of the big project to clean out & organize the sewing group's 23-year permanent files. It took a lot longer to do the last bit that I planned, though, because it bugged me to leave the financial reports section empty when I knew that copies of the missing reports should be in the Treasurers' archives that I recently received. I dug through the T box and found some but not all of the records.

One more time for me to mention that I love my new printer/scanner/copier. It's a lot slower than the commercial copy machine at the library, but it's here on my desk and makes nice clear copies. Thankfully I had recently replaced the toner cartridge, I'd hate to have run dry in the middle of the night.

I worked on the project all last night until 2:30 a.m. I finally decided that, although there is still a lot of missing documentation, I am not responsible for what other people did not save. Now I can deliver the box tonight knowing that I've truly done all that my sense of duty required.

( Now I sound like those guys in the old Gilbert & Sullivan musicals. I remember an episode of The West Wing tv show where a character asked something about which G&S show was about the guy and his devotion to duty, and someone else answered that ALL of the G&S shows had a character like that.)

Yesterday we got several inches of snow in the early morning, then freezing rain and sleet, then even more snow. DH made it to work and back ok but he said the morning commute was miserable. I had planned to deliver a few things to the library but decided not to bother when I wasn't even sure they would be open, between the holiday and the bad weather. I was fine with being housebound yesterday, but have places to go today.

Today I need to
* Shovel the long driveway so I can get my car out of the garage.
* Go to library and post office.
* Update filing my own personal paperwork for the sewing group.
* Finish other prep for tonight's sewing group board meeting.
