Disney was fun, LucyLee! Don't be jealous. Sure dd and I won't be ready to go again for oh, say a week or two. ;)

I LOVE, love, love having a day at home to putter all by myself. (Except I dearly miss dh). I accomplished so much today. Lots of piddlin' jobs that have been there forever and I just haven't gotten to them. Cleaned out a lot of 'stuff' today. That makes me happy. Also finally found my pair of beige capris that have been missing for at least 3 weeks. They were folded neatly UNDER a bin that held papers to be filed. Thought I had lifted it though -oh well, at least now I have my old 'standbys' back. It's been a very good day. Now to wait on info from dh's CAT scan. :?

I so enjoyed being around dgs19months this last week. He was calling Marma by yesterday. Thought he had before but it was so fleeting. When they opened their hotel door to me yesterday he yelled it. Makes me feel good. And when I dropped them at the airport, he was reaching for me -I took him for a few seconds & got a hug & kiss and then it was back to Mommy. He knows who I am, no doubt. :D Then DSGD14 is the most thoughtful and sweet girl -she's always hanging back & waiting for me or offering her arm or something. DGS14 is attentive too. Oh, if only a little could rub off on gd15. But I'm happy with at least these.

DSonil's still not back from the small job that our church organist hired him. Well, it's not small (he's digging a trench and putting in some pipe for them) -this is the 2nd day. He could have started his new job today if he hadn't had this, but he'd made that commitment. He has a few other things to wrap up before starting on Monday. Oh what a relief it is! Guess I'll go warm up some spaghetti for me and I'll fix him something when he gets home. Dark now so he should be coming soon I think. Maybe he's visiting someone to share the good news.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Nancy, I neglected say happy new-chicks arrival.

Dd15 had a great first practice for the volleyball team, so she's happy. She's playing with some pretty intense teammates.

lucylee, I told dd to enjoy these warm-weather practices while she can, because we have definitely been known to have snow in March and anything can happen. I do hope buds don't face a freeze this year, though.

Yes, I do agree that we still have lots of cold weather ahead. Deepest snow ever here, and probably most damaging ice storm, were both in March.

Fairly uneventful dr visit for dmom. I drove her by the local National Cemetery to show her where dcousin who passed away in Dec is buried, then on to JCC to p/u meals. Back home, refilled her meds boxes. Dbro's son was there and I was able to ask him to pick up tree limbs down at dsis' house. He has a yard mowing/maintenance biz.

Harriet, good idea to mark crocuses to move. When we moved from our old house it was the middle of summer and I didn't try to transplant anything. Of course, there we were mostly shade to deep shade, where we are all sun here with nasty rocky dirt under the sod. I had made myself a note yesterday about trying to plant crocus bulbs here next fall.

Tomorrow is vet appt for dMacs in a.m. and then meeting with realtor at dsis' house in the afternoon. I also need to wrap for a Saturday shower - I ordered online and accidentally had the gift sent to the recipients' home address in Texas. So I need to wrap up a token gift with a photo of actual gift for the Saturday afternoon baby shower; at least she won't have to schlep the gift back to Texas so it's all good. I don't plan to go to temple tomorrow night.

I need to set up a hair and pedicure appts for next week. Busy week ahead, next Friday night we drive to ATL to fly to Vegas for a long weekend vacation getaway!

DD is coming home for weekend tomorrow evening.

Sorry I didn't post. Cousin here so I'm busy.

We drove back in to view the apartment again and measure. It is smaller than the numbers on the rough floor plan that was faxed to us indicated. In some cases, rooms are 30 square feet smaller, so it is significant.

On the other hand we still love it. Tried to see another place but couldn't get in. Since it was only a few blocks away from the place we are considering, we drove by and could see why it hasn't been rented - there's a new building being built across the street. No more view and lots of noise.

Once home I went through everything available, regardless of price. Nothing else offered the same value. I have one more email to await an answer on and then we'll probably sign a lease.

Had a nice dinner. Cleaned up while watching the highlights from the Women's Hockey Final (we had heard the end of the game in the car on the radio.)

Cousin and I went through all the music tonight. He'll take most of it. I'm also giving him the hymnbook his parents gave to our grandfather. It is falling apart from use and must have been the second one he had (he had been on the committee that put together the hymnbook originally so would have got a copy back then.) Our guess is his first fell apart so my aunt and uncle bought him another.

Now we are off to bed at a reasonable time. Weather comes in tonight.

I didn't turn on the laptop until 6:55 p.m. I was busy today, didn't post, as laptop wasn't on, and then I was tired.

My Dfriend, who has dementia's DH had a bad stroke 2 days ago, is in the hospital, paralyzed on one side. My Dfriend cannot be left alone, so she's with someone, perhaps a daughter, and their home's dark with nobody there. We've known them since 1975, so this is quite a concern. I have a card to mail to them tomorrow.

I worked on an outline, a letter to DD, sent her a prayer card and some Bible Verses from my one-verse-a-day desk calendar from 2013. The printing was too tiny on the pages, so I never re-ordered one again.

I did laundry today, got cobwebs down in the powder room, stripped the table, washed it, put on new place mats and my Depression glass oval footed bowl again.

I think I'll take a short evening nap. DH is running the DW, awaiting the Olympics to come on again. I might crochet on my red-white-blue "Olympics" hat. If I can wake up, that is.

CONGRATULATIONS, Dee, to your Dsil (or was it Dson? I'm so tired, I forgot.) for his new job! :D

Lynlee, I was interested to read about your summer and the dryness. How is your brother doing, and his family?

Wow, Kathryn, this is getting exciting.

Dee, I guess there's not much to tell right after a scan, but I hope dh managed to get it done without a hitch.

Ivy, so sorry to hear about your friend's husband's stroke and hope he recovers soon.

Wonder how Elizabeth's day has gone. Was the sweater finished?

Emptynester, I was glad to hear you worked well with the person who wanted the position you hold.

Hard to believe I'm still up. I think HRH and I both needed to wind down from a long day.
