Hello, everyone!!! I feel like I have been away forever! It has been sooo hard for me to get computer time lately. I think I last ci: on Friday -- before running errands? * whew * That was a busy day, and then Saturday we were gone all day (college town, basketball game, half a baseball game), and Sunday, after church, I slept all afternoon. Today, I went to the monthly retired teachers' lunch, then dgs was here when I got back, and after he left, we went to Wmart & dmil's. I've also made a pan of cornbread.
Still need to clean up the kitchen, exercise, call dmom.
It has also been hard for me to get computer time b/c when we are home, dh is generally listening to a baseball game on the computer...
Just wanted to wave hello to everyone and let y'all know I hadn't forgotten you! Especially sending good wishes to Mr. Harmony, Mr. Dee, and their wonderful wives who are caring for them. (((HUGS)))
Update: I have applied to one job at a Natl lab and finished washing and drying all the multitudinous LOLs. I am taking a break and filling a bag of yard waste. Then I will apply for a similar job (so I can use similar resume/cover letter) and have dinner. I may reverse that order. Normally, Monday is my errand day, but I don't think I have any errands.
I have not posted and have been holding my breath (well almost) since Friday. Dd2 and her dh closed on the house that they bought and did not move into. Dd2 was bummed because they really need to be in town. That evening at 6:15, she called all excited. There was a new listing that was perfect for them. Every evening at 6:00 any new listings, even if they are another real estate companies listing, shows up on our Coldwell Banker website. They must be the terminal or something for the MLS listings. When they first show up, they don't show which real estate company it is associated with. Dd2 called the real estate agent who sold them the last house and has shown them countless houses. It was the real estate company that she works for, but she wasn't the listing agent. Dd2 was the first to inquire about it, because the sign did not go up until Saturday. The owners didn't want it shown until Monday, so her agent said they would be the first to look at it. They looked at it at 8:30 this morning. The owners had requested that it not be shown again until tomorrow. It was what they wanted. Dsil went to the farm and dd2 went to the bank. They needed a letter stating they could buy it without a contingency to sell theirs and also stating their credit was excellent. They prepared paperwork for dsil to sign that dd2 took to the farm. The guy she was working with went home sick, so she started working with another guy. In the meantime, the realtor wrote up a contract saying they would pay full price and would be flexible on the closing date to allow the sellers to find a house. Dd2 and dsil had to go to their accountant at 11:30, so after that and lunch, dsil went to sign the contract. Finally at 4:30 the letter was ready to be picked up. At 5:00 the realtor took the offer to them and they accepted it. In the meantime, 8 showings had been set for tomorrow to show the house. We were all on pins and needles, hoping that the owners wouldn't turn down the offer.
This house is perfect in every way. It is 1764 sq ft up and down. Their present house is 2000 up and down. This is full brick, with a fenced yard, storage building and an in ground pool. The house has been totally remodeled including the ceilings. No popcorn ceilings. It has 5 bedrooms, 3 baths, new kitchen. All of the woodwork has been replaced, as well as all the doors. They are white. It is just what she has wanted. It has a double garage, with 3 parking spaces in the drive. It is located 2 1/2 blocks from our house. Our house faces north. That house is across the street and down 2 1/2 blocks, sits on the corner and faces east. That driveway is on the south side of the house, so that when either of us is in our driveway, we can see the other. The houses to the west and north of them are all on cul de sacs so the alleys behind them are like a maze. If she went to that alley and headed north, after a few blocks she will end up at dd1s.
My dh is thrilled because now when I need to babysit, I will be so close that I can walk, if I want. As it now, by the time I drive out there, it takes at least 30 minutes coming and going, plus that much time for dd2 to drive plus do whatever. I will essentially save an hour every time I babysit.
This time dd2 and her dh have decided to sell their house instead of waiting until after they move. Dd2 figures it will take her 2 weeks to get it ready to show. Guess what? Her mom and dad will be leaving town next week for a week, so it is up to her to get it ready to sell. If she still isn't done, when I get back, I will pitch in. But until then, she can dig in and work on it.
Lilac, any chance the sellers of the house are looking for a larger place out in the country and would buy dd2's house?!
Haven't done a thing since my last post. Did talk on the phone with CM. She was calling to say that we left our salt shaker at her house. (It's been there since Christmas and we keep forgetting it.) Today it was on the table at the start of choir practice. It was the only thing on the table but then we piled on the hymn books and it got lost. Besides, to me Choir doesn't equal Salt Shaker so I didn't think about it!
been staying on track with schedule. Feels good to get stuff done, but my plan to play at the end of each time slot isn't working out. I'm always doing something to finish up the cards assigned to each time slot. I will eventually get it smoothed out - either I will become faster at doing the cards or I will remove some of them.
This afternoon I went to town and did several errands. The shopping list was easy but the two main errands were a bust.
** One of the tire sensors on the new-to-me-vehicle is saying the pressure is bad. After taking it to two tire shops, they have decided the tire is fine but think the sensor is bad. DH said he will drive it to town on Thursday and get the sensor replaced.
** Spent hour in line at the Social Security office to get LO name changed. I had his old SS card, his old birth certificate, his new birth certificate and the court order signed by the judge. After waiting an hour, I found out that wasn't enough paperwork for them. They want a letter from LO school stating both of his last names and DOB. And the letter must have a wet signature. REALLY? I asked what they would do if he was being homeschooled .....they said they would need the same letter signed by LO doctor. >>>shrugging shoulders<<<< doesn't make sense to me but at least it is an easily obtained piece of paper. Tomorrow is LO turn to take snacks for his class so I had plans to be in the school building anyway.
Spent some time with DGS16. He talked ....and talked....and talked... and only stopped talking because it was time for him to go to his part time job.
LO is in the bathtub. I can hear lots of splashing. ****sigh**** On the good side.....The floor is going to be clean by the time he finishes wiping up all the bath water splashed out.
The baby's mom is on days and may need me more during the day time during the week she said. H. Is home watcjibg that show I mentioned in an earlier post.

Kathryn -- LOL -- choir practice does not = salt shaker... well no, I guess it doesn't.
OKay -- let us know how much that tire sensor costs. We have the same problem. We've just been ignoring it for some time now.

Ivy -- that is so neat, the way the Probiotic worked so quickly. I might should try that. I have a lot of stomach distress after eating, IBS symptoms/etc.

* Mini task for the day? Hmmm... well, the kitchen is cleaned up now. Took less than 10 minutes.
Kathryn, the seller's are planning to downsize. They have 2 grown sons, a son graduating this year and a daughter who will be a senior next year. The daughter is a cheerleader with dgd17. Dgd17 wasn't crazy about moving in "E"s house. Dd1 told dd2 to tell her that "E" doesn't come with the house. Everytime I think of that I start laughing.
I have a new skill I can add to my resume: vacuum cleaner repair! I did not apply for the second job, because I got sidetracked by that. It needed to be unclogged in two places, reconnected in one, and the beater brush had to be reseated along with cleaned of crud. The repair allowed me to clean out the pantry, where one or more cats had spilled rice and flour. I now have one of the cat trees lodged in front of the pantry, which I hope will keep them OUT! Anyone who thinks you can't teach an old cat new tricks has not been to my house. Once upon a time, only Lara knew how to open cabinets and doors. Now, all the fosters can do it, including the 14 yo. Only the resident cannot. She doesn't need to, so she hasn't bothered trying; she is able to jump from floor to top of china cabinet. The repair required me to clean the kitchen floor, as the unclogging made a mess. (I hope you never need to know this, but you can use a plumber's snake for unclogging vacuums).
I did eat and read while doing so. Now I will crochet with Hogan. A poor substitute because I have seen all those. I cannot use YouTube or Netflix to see the Doctor, because if I go over my data allotment, I get charged more on my phone bill. I could upgrade my plan, but that would be even worse! I think I will take a Benadryl, I have been experiencing a ton of dust.
Just had to threaten dResidentCat14 and dFosterCat2 with the water bottle. They decided to rethink their dispute. I am keeping the bottle handy tonight.
