Re: Suddenly Saturday
March has crept up on me as well. I have done cat care and brought in their crates from outside. (If I don't they will be cold, and who would want to climb into a cold crate?) I have also loaded up the car for things I have to do later today: cokes for a party, directions to the party, vaccine records for the foster kittens. I still need to do some LR cleanup. DD12 is having a sleepover tonight and I don't want my job search stuff to get scattered about by her or the felines.
Does anyone know how to get a smell out of jeans? I have washed them 3 times, regular wash once, then with vinegar, then hot water + vinegar. I have no idea what the smell is - kind of acrid and chemically. Unless someone knows a better way, my next attempt will be to wash them with the stuff that took the skunk smell off the dog (combo of baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and dish soap, can't remember the quantities, have to look it up). I have lots of the H2O2, but not much baking soda. I suppose I could try the enzymatic cleaner that worked when the dog had giardia, too.
Nancy: I wasn't clear when I said I didn't understand the paranoia. I do understand others' fears, what I don't understand is my own. Do I not trust DD12 like my family trusted us cousins? If not, why not?

Re: Suddenly Saturday
Thanks for getting us started, Elizabeth. I'm slowly getting my day going. I'm s2s and meds done & bed made. Wanted to be sure to ask dd if she's going to try to get her blood work done this morning (before she has a chance to down any food.) She plans to go visit gd today. Was supposed to take gd shopping on a 4-hour pass. BUT gd has now been written up more than a dozen times in about 8 days. So pass was revoked. Therapist called dd to tell her that yesterday when she said, "I guess today has been ok, since I haven't heard anything." DD's reply: "Then I guess you haven't talked to anyone yet today." Therapist then asked what had happened yesterday morning. Seems gd was caught passing notes again. She had told dd she'd gotten caught passing notes a couple of weeks ago, "but that doesn't mean I'm not going to do it, just means I'm going to be smarter." Evidently not. At any rate there evidently was a huge trauma after yesterday's bout. Report to dd was that when confronted she became very verbally abusive, started hitting staff, destroyed 'property' and on and on. They had to restrain her and finally gave her a shot (a sedative). When I picture all the trauma surrounding her actions....
Therapist did tell dd that they have decided that gd's therapy needs to be extended. They're hoping to get her to 'hit bottom' and then the real work will begin. Yi...................
Dh is already having breakfast so guess I best get out there. Will be back.
Sunny, YES -we'll be in touch with each other. Dh is only here for another 3 weeks and it will have to be after the Strawberry Festival so we'll work it out.

Re: Suddenly Saturday
Poor dd, received yet another call this morning. Seems gd "stabbed" another girl (she & this same girl seem to have an ongoing rivalry) with a pencil this morning. Thankfully that's all that was available to her at the time.
When dd expressed fear yesterday over what's going to happen with gd in the near future, the therapist did tell her there are other avenues available and other programs. We're hopeful that something will reach her.

Oh, Dee, I'm sorry there has been so much more trouble with GD. If they can't manage her how do they expect her family to?
Lucylee, DMom's thoughts probably go back to your DDad when she thinks about her DCousin. It's too soon to face things like that. My friend who lost her husb. works in a nursing home and was assigned a job of sitting with hospice patient as he struggled to breath and she couldn't do it. Understandable.
Elizabeth, the world is a much scarier place than when we were growing up. We left our doors open, etc. Now we suspect everything and are reluctant to trust even our own loved-ones sometimes. I think you are wise to lock up any guns. Remember, she has friends over too.
Harriet, agree how much time the phone calls take up. I have that too, and I only have 1 thing going on around here!
Not going in till right after lunchtime. I have baked potatoes and some chicken pieces in cooking and will have them before I go. I haven't cooked myself a decent dinner since DH went away. It's smelling yummy!
1LOL ready to hang up. Must bring in the one still hanging outside; must empty the dishwasher. I have S2S but need to put my heat rollers in when my hair is dry. I swept the leaves off the front porch.
I'm waiting for DSisiL to come, she is going to drop off a wheelchair she found; said it's nice. I don't know if DH will be needing it; maybe just for a bit if we go someplace for long walking. He still can't go far.
Need to close out the last month. If I get everything else done I'll work on that.
Have a nice Saturday, everyone!

Re: Suddenly Saturday
Hi everybody!
Had a great day yesterday. Hung out with my sister for hours. We had lunch, went to see the bankers for a "face-to-face, let's get to know each other" meeting. They read parts of the will, they talked about numbers and trusts and trustees and executors and, and, and... It was an educational event.
Today there is a double-header derby game. Mike wants to go out for lunch and then the flea market and then derby, which starts an hour earlier than last year. The best thing is that I get to see dd!!

Re: Suddenly Saturday
Oh, wow, Dee.
((HUGS)) to all involved. Would love to see dgd straightened out - as painlessly as possible, but a painless process is not possible with some people. .
Dd15 and friend used my laptop last night to watch a movie so I haven't had it since before dinner yesterday. I ended up falling asleep early last night. I was exhausted; it has been a full busy week. Glad for the weekend, though dd15's band and orchestra festival is today, and I'll be out to watch the performances and sight reading 3:30 - 4:30, and then 5:30 - 6:30. Hope to be home by 7 but that may not happen. Not sure how to do dinner. . . . I have some leftovers, but I'm not sure they're enough, if R also joins us. I have plenty in the freezer, though, may pull from that -- and we'll just eat late. Also need to drop off dd15 at 2:30. My day will be chopped up, that's for sure. Anyhow, I caught up on some emails this a.m.
I'm off to tackle the a.m. routine. Left the kitchen a mess last night when I fell asleep. . .

As would we, Helia. It only seems to get worse, the older she gets.Would love to see dgd straightened out - as painlessly as possible, but a painless process is not possible with some people.
Exactly, Harmon, exactly. DD is going there today -at least her visit will be on record. She's trying to do all she can do. She did go have her fasting & non-fasting blood work done & then is hopping on the parkway to head over to the route to Bradenton. If they can't manage her how do they expect her family to?
I've spent over 1/2 hour trying to get my printer to work.
Dh and dsonil have gone to one of the local flea markets -I don't know why, we're glad to not have any fleas!

Good Morning!
(((Dee & family)))) Hopefully something will reach your DGD. It is painful for all to watch our loved ones spiral downward. BTDT with some in our family.
Harmony - I'm glad you took time to cook yourself a good meal. You do so much for others, you deserve a little pampering too!
I'm not doing my best. I am continuing to make progress but at a very slow rate. Some days I "got it" and some days I don't. So far, this has been a "don't" day.
I've txt with stranger about dowsing. We are going to reschedule it to a better weather day.
Made chicken salad for Lunch. i think it is always better if it can sit for a couple hours and let the flavors meld with each other.
Cards due today = 45
