That is wonderful news Kathryn.

I had other comments that I wanted to make and my tired brain is blank.

Since last night was so short, I need to get to bed.......

Wow, Lilac, that was a lot of miles you guys drove today. I'm glad you arrived safely.

I spent the evening at Rehab with DH. His spirits are higher now that he knows he'll be coming home soon. I told him he wouldn't be getting any therapy for about 10 days once he got home and surprisingly he was ok with that. I think he just really wants to be home.

This afternoon they had a little coffee/cookie social there which he enjoyed. Also the youth group leader and a few of the kids came to visit. The brought a "card" they'd all signed, a bright green poster board with their messages all over the front and back. And a shopping bag full of goodies to eat! I brought in some scotch tape and taped it up to the picture that hangs beside his bed. He was over the moon to be remembered like that.

I picked up a piece of 2" high-density foam to make a chair pad for him on the way tonight. Back home I cut it to size and covered it with the last of my vinyl, 2 different colors. I hand stitched it around the foam, which took hours, and now my fingertips are sore, even using a needle puller and thimble. But it turned out nicely and I think it feels pretty good.

The one he has in there is some kind of space-age foam which would cost him $400 if he bought it! I did the best I could for $14!

Of course the house is a wreck now, with all the sewing and material stuff dragged out. I will clean it all up tomorrow morning.

wow - good job Harmony.
When DH comes home if he keeps doing what they have been doing, and more often as it becomes easier he should make good progress in my view. One good thing about the lesser wheelchair - it may encourage him to try more walking. not sure if that is good or not. Knowing your DH he will be champing at the bit to get going again.
Do take care of you in all this. And help your dear fingers to heal too. That sounds grueling all the work you have done.
Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.
