OKay we are past the point of deal-breakers. We've put down a deposit and to withdraw the application would cost us $3100. So, assuming they accept us, we'll have to move in and figure out if the smoking is a deal breaker for us. If it is, we'll be moving after a year.

Talked to my sister (who is a landlord tenant expert) about the 3 year lease and it made her nervous too so she felt we were right not to sign one. She is also afraid of heights so understands my fear of moving in. I'm still hoping the 5th floor unit will come up and we'll be able to choose that one if the smoking thing works out.

Home from meeting about trip to Poland and Israel. Poland is four days at the beginning of the Israel trip - could go or not. Sixteen days if I did the entire trip, twelve for Israel only. It sounds really exciting and exhausting...need to discuss with dh further.

Phone call from dd grousing about her roommate. Finally told her I had listened enough and moved on. Dh came in asking if I had done this and that today, and of course I hadn't. I did accomplish a lot today, just not those things. Ds wanted me to pick him up on Friday at 4 p.m. sharp and I'm not able to do so. Negotiated a 9 a.m. pick up on Sat a.m. DD will get herself home on Friday afternoon. Friday night is Purim at temple and I'm supposed to take a visitor to dinner either before or after services - I am heavily relying on my extrovert husband to help with conversation. I am also debating whether I want to try for an easy easy Purim costume for myself. I've always avoided Purim as it seemed too much trouble (and noise and people) during tax season.

I need to make a L-i-s-t for tomorrow. Need to meet with rabbi at 8:30 (ugh!) then work with office mgr, then on to see dmom and refill her meds.

Did 2 lol, napped, worked 30 min. on a story and got 1,003 words. I was very surprised as how fast it went! I answered a pen pal letter. I'd just mailed her a reversible purple and purple variegated crocheted double-thick hat for her b-day. They're her favorite colors, everyone comments on the hat wherever she goes, and she's so happy with it. It made me feel so good to hear how people are complimenting on her crochet, when she said she doesn't crochet, but has a dfriend who does. They tell her, she's got one really nice dfriend there. It's nice to hear nice things like that, especially when, sometimes, my own internal self-talk is negative about myself. Is that because of striving for perfection or acceptance that happens? I just don't know.

Am still feeling puny, have a 99.6* fever. Don't understand why, except my sleep was broken today; up at 6 a.m., then napped later. DH was on the riding lawnmower, I had just pushed start on the washer, when everything in the house went dark! I thought I'd flipped a breaker switch in the breaker box. Scared, I went outdoors, to flag down DH and let him know. It was funny, because I was in an ankle-length muu-muu and he was driving behind me, while I was running as fast as I could, back to the garage into the back door. I'm so glad our nearest neighbors are 1/4-mile away and we don't live in a sub-division! Boy. I'm really glad!

The day got up to about 56*, with sunshine all day, and pollen's in the air, of course. I have allergies and asthma, so going outside in the springtime is hard. I heard if you go out and are allergic, to come in, shower, and wash your clothes. I guess it would limit times out, or I'd be showering 6 times a day!

I cannot believe tomorrow's Thursday already. I, personally, on my large card in big letters, call it "Thoughtful Thursday." I don't know why, but it's a good day to write letters, crochet for others and/or make needed phone calls to cheer up others- or cheer me up. DH goes to a retiree luncheon tomorrow, will be gone about 2 - 2 3/4 hours, so hoping I feel better, to tackle an organizing paper crafts project.

I feel like I am always so rushed here lately -- b/c dh is so often monopolizing the computer (and I hate typing one-fingered on my phone. It's wonderful in an "emergency," like when we're traveling, but at home... I prefer the computer keyboard!

Kathryn -- my thoughts EXACTLY, re: the tickets! I am definitely taking both sets of tickets. This is ridiculous. But yes, Dee -- the seats are the exact same ones I had before. I just keep thinking, now what would have happened if the seller had not gone to the venue to pick up his own tickets? That's the story they tell, to explain how he (the seller) knew there was a problem. If you've never been involved w/S tub H ub, apparently that is how it works... Person A puts his tickets up for sale, Person B buys, but never do the two meet or correspond with each other. All communication & payment is through S tub H ub. S tub H ub takes a percentage of the sales cost, and I guess they guarantee the tickets will arrive in a timely fashion. They assured us if we did not receive our bcs tickets, our money would be refunded 100%. So... it's not much of a financially risky venture at all, but goodness... the last two experiences have been nerve-wracking!

Glad you're just locked in to the apartment for a year, Kathryn. Seems a much better way to decide if you're going to be happy or not... talking about risky ventures... (((HUGS)))

I am glad I found the hens before the grand kids came.

H is in hot water I baked pies from the store mini ones but he marked them A for apple P for peach but did the wrong ones ! G-R-R-r! Don't mess with the pies around here or you will deal with the wrath of the cook.

Good weather here for the rest of the week except Fri. We have some rain in the forecast.

Hello everyone. It turned out to be a nice day after some rain this morning. I woke up this morning with a stuffy nose, itchy eyes and one ear muffled. I'm thinking it's springtime pollen in the air, but it feels annoying.

Dh and I have had a quiet day. Dh took a ride over to W-M for dog food and came back with two big shopping bags full of other stuff. Pantry is now full again! While he was gone I worked in the kitchen; moved stuff off the counters and wiped them all, wiped the stove, fridge and cleaned the microwave inside and emptied the crumbs out of the toaster. Later on I wrote a few checks to pay some bills.

Thinking about Harriet, dh and dfam today and I can just picture how nice it was for ds and others in his unit there to pay their respects as a group. The service sounds nice and gentle.

Twins', that sounds like a really nice trip. (Fiddler on the Roof is one of my favorite stories. I saw the stage play with Zero Mostel, but I like the movie best with Chaim Topol).

Sadie, hope your plans for your trip turn out well.

Kathryn, you are probably right to second guess the appointment for tomorrow and take precautions. Maybe there is someone you can ask to come over to be with you tomorrow.

Dee, I'm glad both your ddils got home ok. I hope everything worked out good for your ds and the weather.

Lucy, glad your tickets arrived with right seats. I was also thinking like Kathryn that you should take both sets.

Greetings all! My Dr. Who video is finally at the library!!! Unfortunately, I won't be able to get it until tomorrow. I went to dinner at church only to find that Bible study had been cancelled. I did find out what section we are on (I have missed a few). Some people from one of my previous workplaces (my favorite one, in fact) were bemoaning the lack of C programmers to another old coworker. They now have my resume. I have done FlyLady's detailed clean of the guest bath (gotta get everything done for April guests!). I have decided to put my extreme clean of the catbox on the schedule with the guest bath. That way it won't get forgotten. It has also been done. Still need to do detailed clean of DD12's room and laundry room (the latter is easy), and declutter in the sewing room. Always need to continue with the job hunt, there are two places I must get resumes to tomorrow, and a couple of high priority applications to a national lab. Also need to subtract and balance checkbook, but need a snack right now.

DeeClutter: I feel for you on the radiator. I was told I will be needing one shortly. (I actually need it now, but I am broke and it is a slow leak).

TwinsMom: I didn't know that Purim was a costume affair. I love anything costumes. What kind are worn?
