Happy to hear that Sunny & Dee are meeting up!

Speaking of meeting up.......Yesterday a life long friend and I started txt'ing about meeting for a visit in a couple of weeks when she comes through our area (on her way home from a business trip). So innocent, right? Without any planning and almost no effort, that meet-up went from a simple meal for the two of us and grew to a meal and an all day event with 61 friends attending (and more joining in hourly). FB makes it soo easy to spread the news. Last night I created a FB group and the word quickly spread. It went from 2 of us getting together ......to 3....to 4....to 5....when we reached 20 friends we decided we couldn't host it in a home so decided to rent a place. Once the decision was made to rent a place that meant there was room to include others ....and **POOF**....it just happened.

This morning I took my "new to me" vehicle to get the engine warning light checked. the light came on when were were driving home from church on Sunday I am hopeful the problem is my lack of knowledge in what kind of gas this vehicle requires. I didn't think about it needing something different than what I have been putting in my previous little car, but it is clearly telling that it does NOT like that gas. AFter I read the manual I discovered that it has to have premium gas. Apparently this blunder has the sensors going off and complaining. We were advised to try running a super cleaner through this tank of gas and hopefully it will take care of it. Maybe.

While in town I took LO to sports store and got his baseball equipment for this year. He out-grew his cleats and bat from last year so we had to get bigger ones for this year. Also found a backpack type baseball bag that should last him for the rest of his life! JK....sorta.

Quick ci:
I feel like I am eating a shark today... I have a shark sized pile of ironing... but I said I would/could do it... and so I did.
(Well, maybe by the time Perry Mason goes off tonight, I will. I've ironed for a couple of hours while watching Klondike -- DVR'd -- and talking to dmom on phone -- and then I took a break to s2s and get ready to go to nursing home w/ds, etc. tonight.)

Quick brag on ds... I'm just so proud of his attitude.
We were discussing ddil's discouragement & anxiety w/no news from job interview, and ds said, "But that's what 'lean not unto your own understanding' means. To (ddil's) understanding, she deserves the job and she's done everything she knows to get it and people who are in that department want her to have it... but that may not be God's understanding... and He is closing that door -- if He is -- because He has something better in mind for her. If you do all you can and God closes a door, then it's no good to try to take a battering ram and knock it down."
Tomorrow is another day.

Back from dentist and periodontist with no resolution of mouth pain. Dentist did some adjusting of my bite which may or may not help. :?

Called and talked to social services lady at dsis' nursing home - they moved her to their "special care" unit which I think is really more of a psych unit. She said dsis is doing better with less stimulation and less activity on that unit. Have to have an additional key code to visit her, and no glass and metal picture frames. This should be the week I am going to see her, but I am putting it off until next week because dkids are home and I'd rather have some time with them.

That said, they are getting on my last nerve sometimes digging at each other.

I got weepy at the dentist (after my mouth was throbbing) and again at the grocery when I ran into the guy who is supposed to be temple treasurer. Was telling him him how tired I am and got weepy on him. :? Supposed to be a board meeting tomorrow night and no one sent out the notice. I emailed this morning and got push back from a board member about possibly postponing to next week. I don't have a budget and the incoming guy doesn't seem to understand that we probably need to meet....he barely answers emails because he's so busy otherwise. Admin VP is working extra overtime hours and is mostly unavailable; he son is a senior and doing sports right now so she isn't able to attend a lot of meetings. I just need to do what I have to do and get this off my plate. even if I feel completely and totally abandoned....

Today an email about some kind of poster exhibit that a group wants to put up on Friday in our building....what the heck?

Good afternoon friends! As usual, I got a late start to my day. So far, I have been looking through emails and doing some web search stuff. Here is the stuff I need to get done:

DPC
finish charity shawl (crochet with the Doctor!)
resume to business 1
resume to business 2
update and balance checkbook (must be done before next statement comes in!)
file unemployment claim
Bible study homework (BS is tomorrow)
look up some info about Medicaid

There is a job fair tomorrow, so I had better get ready for that too. Right now, I am going to take a brief break from the computer and set a LOL to going and pick up 5 things in the dungeon (sewing room). Also, must get tea.

LucyLee - I love the way your DSon thinks!

The rest of the story on my DSon job interview. It turned out to all be for nothing. They like him however their offer was too low for him to take it. DSon said the interview was a good experience since he hasn't been on a interview in 13 years. He is happy where he is currently working so doesn't feel disappointed about not receiving an offer big enough to lure him away.

Quick c.i.:
Worked hard on a story and got it off.
Ifixed weekly medications, hung 3 prs. of clean dry jeans, read obits, & did emails.
I was frustrated with DH this a.m.! He said something about HIS not being MY "SLAVE"! :? I cried, he felt BAD, so he started doing so MUCH of everything! Emptied the potty box, the DW, got wood in, etc... He apologized immensely. When I was doing my thyroid pill routine, this a.m., I bumped his arm when HE was doing his blood sugar. I didn't even feel his arm. He felt pushed out of the way, got mad. He was SO SORRY. 8-) It's been fine since a.m., but the day started out on the wrong foot from that and also, the ABC Affiliate TV station we watch ALL the time for our news, had its news helicopter plummet off the helipad down into the street, and it killed the pilot and photographer, and 1 man is in Harborview Trauma Center with bad burns, fighting for his life. We were bombarded with this news, finally turned on music. I went to my office, to play jazz, to write, and forget reality for awhile. Our hearts go out to KOMO TV company there in Seattle and to the families affected. So tragic. Such sad news first thing in the morning. :(
Anyway, I'm trying to CUOP, but have many other things to do, so will come back later.

I decluttered the area where we do my "morning thing" and gave DH more room. :!:  He's "happy" now, says it's a lot better, and how he "should" go through his basket to make "things" a lot better. I told him, "You can't live life on "SHOULDS"!" He turned to me and said, "You're right." ;) It's so nice to have more counter space showing. It'll be a bit inconvenient for me. My exercise steno pad record is under my fluids/OTC meds record steno pad and my clipboard with my W. W. food journals for counting points, is tucked against my far right wall between an index box, and W. W. things with index cards. I can prevent him having a "fit" like this a.m., then I'll be happy and he'll be happy. Marriage. Ya' gotta love it! ♥ ♥ After that, I signed up for a marriage e-course, free, on the Internet and some other marriage improvement tips/newsletters, at the same site. ;) Because maybe I'm doing something wrong?

I liked the opener, Harriet. :D

Off to bed. Too tired to be productive and there's no point sitting here being unproductive when I can go to sleep.

Dh is on his conference call and says he'll be up to bed asap.

Hmmm, so often I feel like the "so she did" characters.

OKay, LOL at LO's whistle! Too bad about the blood work / test. Is there a huge cultural difference between that area of Texas and where you are? Sounds like a nice reunion!

(Twins) for mouth pain. Do you think your joint treatments haven't worked?

Booksaver, thanks for dishwasher tips. I need to try something.

Ivy, I saw that helicopter on our news. It looked awful. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you. We all have days like that.

Have a nice visit, Dee & Sunny. Will Mr. Dee & Mr. Sunny be there?

Porch focus. Mine is covered in piles of dry leaves. My vine at the entry arbor is shedding leaves like crazy. I haven't swept since Dh was in hosp.

Pretty hectic day. Again. Therapy at 8:00. Then we went hunting for a cane, all the thrift stores were out of them but WM had one for under $12 and when I saw that I wondered why we spent so much time looking for used!

After lunch we went to door co., HD, jobsite, other jobsite with camera to take last pics, tile store. I was exhausted when we set out and worse when we got back. Helped load truck and DH went to church to meet 3 volunteers to put in that door  . I closed my eyes and slept for 3 hours! Just like that !!snap!!.

Some things DH is doing are ok now, with restraint. He just started doing things too soon, too quick.

Wonderful to think Sunny and Dee will meet. Please tell each other "hello" for us :) .

OKay, I know high-performance cars/engines have to have premium all the time, but it would not be a very good selling-point for vehicles hoping to tap the family-vehicle market. Sorry you've made this rather expensive discovery. I've been told by multiple mechanics that Fords are very free with their moments in which the "check engine" light comes on, and it doesn't signify as much concern, necessarily, as the engine light on some other brands. We even had one mechanic say, "at the drop of a hat, comparatively", though I don't know what he was comparing to....
