As far as I know, Harmony, both Mr. Dee & Mr. Sunny will be there -wish you could be too. Pretty sure our dh's will hit it off. Think they have a lot in common. I'm so excited to meet yet another friend from Sheville.

I planted 15 more trees in the yard this evening. And watered another dozen newly planted trees with my redneck bucket watering system.

Is there a huge cultural difference between that area of Texas and where you are?

Culturally it is not that different. But lifestyle it is most definitely different. I keep telling myself we have only seen it through DSon & family lifestyle..... we only know the people we have met through DSon & family. Their friends, coworkers, etc. I keep thinking it would be okay after we found friends of our own. Nothing feels comfortable there.....everything is just so manicured and perfect. Maybe it just takes some getting used to though. Being surrounded by houses/people makes me feel claustrophobic. I always give a big sigh of relief when I get out of town & traffic to the wide open spaces.

Dee, It's just WAY COOL, how you'll be meeting Sunny and Mr. Sunny, too! I hope Mr. Dee and Mr. Sunny get along GR8!

Harmony, Thank you. I went back to my "spot" on the counter, below the medications cabinet in the kitchen & decluttered it even MORE! Now, DH is super happy, and vows to clean his basket out now. He asked me that on Thursdays, when he does his weekly diabetes injection, that I move my stuff over, and keep out of his way, because he has vials, needles, etc... out on his portion of the counter, spread out, until he gets done. I told him that's fine. Also, DH and I are under strain because our 14-month-old dgd is in the hospital, with pneumonia and has been there since the 14th. (More at J's & C's, about it, but no new news yet.) I believe since the stress of her, it kinda got to us this morning. Hooray! You found a cane, which was economical, too!

Also, Harmony, I'm thinking of you, how YOU'RE doing and Mr. Harmony, too. I hope things improve for you both. I'm so GLAD you got that nap in, too!

Harriet, That's very interesting about Fords and the "check engine" light and what the mechanic said.

(((Twins'))), Mouth pain's no fun! Get better soon! I got weepy at the dentist's office once, but my hygienist was so comforting. They played a song over their speaker from DBro's funeral and I "lost" it. But she understood, got me a box of tissues, and stepped out for a few minutes, to give me time alone to myself to settle down. She's a very compassionate person. I love her.

Kathryn, I hope you and DH are healthy still. Yesterday, it sounded like you were coming down with something. How are you tonight? Sleeping, probably. I hope you get enough rest to ward off the illness.

OKay, It sounded like your DSon is happy where he's at. Your meet-up get-together sure did grow large! I know everybody must have enjoyed themselves, too.

Elizabeth, I hope you had some success at the job fair, found places to apply to, and learned valuable information, too.

Lucylee, I don't know what it's like eating a shark, but I had salmon for dinner tonight! I absolutely am CRAZY for Klondike stuff! Anything Alaska, too! Wow, Your DDIL's DS is so philosophical and so wise beyond his years, although I don't know his age. What a way to look at the situation. Amazing.

I didn't mean for that last post to end so abruptly -- dh needed the computer. Needed is a relative term... but y'all know what I mean... it's spring training baseball season, college baseball season, AND we just got a new basketball coach at college town. Hmmm... wonder what people in Twins' neighborhood are thinking about our new hire...

Thanks, Ivy... ds is 30, but he definitely IS wise beyond his years and I don't know where he got it -- b/c dh & I are both often times complete basket cases. You did not know me back years ago when every single day seemed to be some kind of total panic attack. I think I joined this village the week he went on his first big away from home trip, going on family vacation w/girlfriend at the time and her family. I had known the family all my life; good people, no reason to be having a meltdown... but there I was, acting like someone had stolen my baby -- and he was a senior in high school. I cried the week he went to Boys State, too, btw, and we knew he was only staying for 3 days b/c of prior family committments. DS was just "born grown."
Dmom said she "hoped he would have me raised by the time he left for college."

Sounds like maybe some improvement will be on the way to the Harmony household? Saying a prayer for MORE rest, more peace and calm, more PATIENCE on Mr. Harmony's part -- with himself, to allow himself time to heal.

Hmmm... we have a check engine light on (Chevrolet Tahoe) -- in our case, mechanic at the dealership says it signifies a problem w/emissions system but is no danger and is not worth the price of repairing. So thankful for his honesty.

Tonight was Girls' Night Out, so Chinese was eaten. Then DD12 wanted to go to the larger of the two local libraries. She has been asking for more adult mysteries. She is not interested in things like missing ice cream recipes! She is at the same age I was when I had to get out of the children's section and into the adult section. The librarian and I decided that an Agatha Christie would be ok. I remember reading them in middle school. We came back to my house and listened to Adventures in Odyssey (a Christian radio show for kids). I finished weaving in ends of the charity shawl while she made a wand. She said she likes radio shows because you can do other things while they are on. Several LOLs have been whirling, in fact, one just finished and needs flipping. Also, the resumes I have been printing out just finished. Cat care is done, me care is not. Trash and recycles are at the curb.

I must put sheets on my bed (hoping DFosterCat14 will not throw up on them). Also, checkbook stuff, job fair prep, and put some things away. Off to get stuff done!
