TROPICAL TUESDAY

Afternoon/evening went well.

First stop was to pick up mail. Nothing exciting there.

Second stop was Costco. They had the summer shirts on sale so I bought a ton is extra large sizes. Plus the other two items I went for.

Third stop was Christian bookstore. Got a wonderful bulletin for Easter that coincidentally has the title of our anthem: "He Lives!". They had a pack of 50 sunrise themed bulletins so I got those for the sunrise service.

Fourth stop was the Presbytery meeting. Got there and parked and inside just in time for dinner (I'd forgotten everything was moved up 15 minutes.) Nice dinner of turkey, veggies, rolls, with ice cream and maple syrup for desert, plus coffee cakes. I skipped the ice cream and maple syrup but did have some lemon loaf.

Opening worship was fabulous. It was called Ringing In Change and was a handbell choir. We seldom applaud during worship in our denomination but we did this time because it was so moving.

The meeting was difficult but moved well. The chair this year is brilliant and I'll miss her leadership next year.

Had an interesting chat with a lay worship leader on the committee that licenses us. She mentioned the minister in charge and I said I had a run in with her last week over my website. She said, "I did too." I said, "You have a website too?" and she said "No, I had a run in with her over your website." So I raised some hackles by being professional. It was upsetting enough for my friend that she left the meeting in tears that someone would accuse me of misrepresenting myself. Not sure if I'll escalate or not.

Our next Presbytery meeting is a 2 hour drive from here, awfully close to my minister friend so I think I'll invite him out for lunch and then go on to the meeting after burning some time exploring the small towns in the area. There'll only be 2 hours between lunch and when I have to be at the other church.

HI everyone! It's been a while since I checked in last. I have been doing lots of stuff for the animal org estate sale. The sale got the org more than $10k, and there are still some items to carry over to our usual yard sales, so it was well worth it. My parents arrive Saturday, so I will need to work on clean up tasks.

Tonight's must do: some clean up, crochet with the Doctor so I can return the DVD to the library, email catch up.

Tomorrow, there are two job fairs going on. They overlap, but I should probably be able to do both. They both have people I would like to be seen by.

Tomorrow's necessities: job fairs, vacation plans + reservations, file unemployment, more cleanup and organizing.

Tonight was Girls' Night Out. We ate the usual Chinese, but at home. DD12 asked me "What is hamburgers?" This confused me a great deal until she remembered the word was actually Aspergers, which she was diagnosed with last year. Not sure why that came up NOW, but I described it to her, being sure to mention that not everyone has every symptom on the list and that people who do not have Aspergers will still have things on the list. I described it as a different way of thinking that was neither bad nor good, sort of like having green eyes. As a near middle schooler, she has become aware of differences between her and other people.

My job search related tasks for the week have been: getting info on the companies at the two job fairs, thank you notes to the interviewers from last week, investigating companies on my job search 'master list'.

I think I will do 15 minutes on kitchen cleanup, then crochet + Dr. Who.

Gkids put 4 of the 6 pullets up in the coop loft. They did not have access to food or water up there I was put out with them. Chicks are fine glad I found the chicks right away.

The neighbor gave us a melon that was over ripe chicks loved that I did not give them much the hens got most of it the will love their breakfast. Harriet I loved hearing how Fay got her name!

Nancy! I'm glad you found the chicks right away, too! Kids will do kids' things!

Need to do my very late night routine, time got away from me, so I'd better get going. I've set my dawn simulator for 9:15 a.m. to "dawn" at 9 a.m. I take my thyroid med first thing, which was a different brand today, and I got so drowsy after I took it. I wait an hour, prior to breakfast. Hoping tomorrow, it won't tire me out like it did today. It's a generic of a regular brand, so I didn't feel it'd do this to me. Maybe it was my night's sleep and not the med at all. Hoping so.
